It's amazing how a nice warm shower can reboot a really crummy day. My tail was dragging today, almost literally, until I took a shower. I feel like I'm ready to start my day now - and it's almost bedtime!

Totally agreed. I used to swear by a long hot shower to revive my mood and relieve my stress.

Yoga Pants, Part Deux

Thursday, March 01, 2012

The much anticipated yoga pants arrived today (hooray for really speedy standard shipping)! They are everything I'd hoped for - nice material, good fit, and so long I'm going to have to hem them. I'm really looking forward to wearing them for my workout tomorrow. :)

Clothes for the Excessively Tall

Tuesday, February 28, 2012

I am 5'9" tall (about 175cm) and very slender, and above all, LONG LEGGED. I need a minimum of 34" (86 cm) inseams if I don't want to look like I'm expecting a flood. Buying jeans and dress pants is an ongoing drama for me, but always solvable by throwing money at the problem.

Workout clothes, however, remained a problem. Even Land's End, who make excellent tall women's clothes, only go to 31 or 32 inches in their knit pants and workout wear. And men's are not an option for my size and shape.

I'm really amazed to report this, but OLD NAVY has saved the day for me. Not only are they carrying denim in both LONG (34" inseam, regular sizing) and TALL (36" inseam, longer rise) and TALL t-shirts and blouses, but they also have two styles of TALL yoga pants. As a bonus, both have a MSRP of $20 or less.

I haven't received mine yet, but the relief is incredible. It's still to cold here to go outside in shorts so I've been doing cardio in jeans - definitely not optimal. I can't wait to try out my new yoga pants.

I'll even be thrilled if I have to hem them. After all, there are taller women than I out there!

Say what you want about Vikkie's, at least they make clothes that will actually fit their tall, thin models!

I LOVE Old Navy workout clothing; affordable and fashionable for the fraction of the price of Lululemon/Lucy/Athleta... I also like Champions ( you can find them at Target)...if you're still looking for yoga pants, I have a friend that swears by Victoria's Secret brand. emoticon

Dear Ryan Braun,

Saturday, February 25, 2012

Methinks the lady doth protest too much. If you had made one simple dignified statement about being pleased to be cleared so you can go back to playing baseball I would believe you. But all of this whining, carrying on, and painting yourself as a “victim” makes me think that you were indeed doping, and got wicked lucky when that tech screwed up.

One would hope that you would take this as an opportunity to reexamine your life and your priorities but that’s obviously not going to happen. More fool you.

Sincerely,
A Baseball Fan
