Itís always a good feeling when we have people around us who are encouraging. Itís good when we have people who care enough to help and encourage so we wonít get discouraged or give up. We can also have encouragement from Godís word. Reading His word every day shows us how others got through hard times because of their faith in God. We need to be sure we encourage others and be encouraged by Godís word.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 ďSo encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.Ē (NLT)

Dear Lord, thank You for your encouraging words and for those who step out and encourage others. Help us to be people who care enough to encourage others with our words rather than tear down. Help us to be people who care enough to read Your word and draw encouragement from You. Help us to be ready and willing to encourage and be encouraged. In Jesusí name. Amen.

God wants us to use our words to encourage and help rather than hurt and offend.

We can choose to be overwhelmed with encouragement by encouraging others and being encouraged with Godís word.

God is able to encourage us through His word and wants us to use His word to encourage others.

Itís such a good feeling to receive and give words of encouragement.

We need to first pray to God for encouragement so we can be encouraged and then encourage others.

Psalm 138:3 ďAs soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength.Ē (NLT)

Focus: Look for ways to be encouraged today and to encourage others.

Despite how our day begins, despite the weather, despite the situation, there is always beauty to behold. Look around. God has created so many wonderful and beautiful things for us to see. Be grateful. God has given us so many beautiful things to enjoy. Be overwhelmed in the beauty of Godís creations. Be thankful He created these things for us to enjoy, not to overlook or misuse. We need to stop focusing on the wrong and ugly things in our lives and look for the beauty that God has created. We donít want to miss the beauty of Godís creations.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 ďYet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of Godís work from beginning to end.Ē (NLT)

Dear Lord, thank You for your creations. Thank You for this beautiful world. Thank You for Your perfect plan. Thank You for Your blessings. We are overwhelmed with the beauty in this world. The beauty of the changing sky, the stillness of the deep seas, the colors of the flowers and the greatness of the majestic mountains. You painted and created so much for us to enjoy. Help us to remember to be overwhelmed in the beauty of this world. In Jesusí name. Amen.

Letís not get so wrapped up in our daily routines that we forget to stop and enjoy the beauty of this world.

God created this world for us to enjoy, to live and to care forÖand be overwhelmed with itsí beauty.

When we take time to stop and enjoy the beauty of the world, we will feel Godís presence around us.

God created the heavens and the earth. It is for us to enjoy as He did when He created it.

Look around and enjoy the beauty of Godís creations and know that it is very good.

Genesis 1:31a ďThen God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!Ē (NLT)

Focus: Be still and be overwhelmed with the beauty of Godís creations.

November 17, 2014 OVERWHELMED WITH JOY

We have the ability to control what we think and do. We all have the ability to choose. We can choose sadness or joy. We can choose to focus on God or not. We can choose to live in obedience to Him or do what we want. When we choose to be overwhelmed with joy that only comes from God, we will begin to see the good in life. We will begin to feel Godís presence. We will want to read His word, share it with others and we will overflow with joy so others can experience God as well.

Isaiah 61:10 ďI am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding or a bride with her jewels.Ē (NLT)

Dear Lord, it is so overwhelming to be filled with joy from You. Your presence and Your word are able to consume us so we will want to sing praises to You and worship You. Completely fill us with joy today that only comes from You. Show us how to be joyful in all things as you have commanded us to do. We know all who follow Your ways will be joyful. Give us the awareness and strength to follow You today. In Jesusí name. Amen.

We have the ability to choose if we want to be overwhelmed with joy or continue to focus on things that are not of God.

We can be overwhelmed with joy when we decide to read Godís word and obey Him.

The choice is ours. We can be overwhelmed with joy by following God or we can continue to see joy in the world and never find it.

True followers of God find joy everyday by being obedient to Him.

All who follow Godís ways will be joyful. Itís our choice if we want to follow Him or not.

Proverbs 8:32 ďAnd so, my children, listen to me, for all who follow my ways are joyful.Ē (NLT)

Focus: Completely focus on God and obey Him. Then you will experience true joy.

We all deal with guilt at one point in our lives. Some of us daily. We feel guilty about everything. How each of us handle guilt is different. Some of us focus on the issue way too much and feel bad about what happened and wonder what we could have done differently. Some try to push the guilt out of our minds and do other things. While some take our guilty feelings out on others by being aggressive and even blaming someone else for what happened. When guilt overwhelms, we need God.

Psalm 38:4 ďMy guilt overwhelms meó it is a burden too heavy to bear.Ē (NLT)

Dear Lord, our guilt is heavy and too much for us. Sometimes our guilt is unnecessary and sometimes it is due to something we shouldnít have done or said. We come to You, Lord, to help us deal with our guilt. Show us what to do. Tell us what to say. Remove our guilty feelings and help us to make things right so we can continue on the path You have set before. In Jesusí name. Amen.

When guilt overwhelms us, we need God.

The guilt we feel for something we truly did can be corrected with Godís forgiveness and help.

We need to pray when we feel guilty about something we didnít even do. God can help us through our feelings.

Guilt can be overbearing and can consume us and keep us from doing Godís will. But God can move us past the guilt.

When pressure and stress and guilt bears down on us, we can find joy in Godís word.

Psalm 119:143 ďAs pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands.Ē (NLT)

Focus: Whatever we feel guilty about, let go and let God handle it.

This is an excellent blog, I really wish that you would share some of these under the daily devotionals. I think this could give you a lot more exposure to the team "KEEP WALKING WITH JESUS" It will be fine for you to do so, I am one of the team leaders and founders. I have already discussed this with Judy (singinglady47). It is totally up to you if you like, we also have a bible class if you would like to participate in that as well.

Thought and Prayer for Saturday, November 15, 2014

Saturday, November 15, 2014

When we are sick itís hard to focus. We are in pain. We donít feel good. We complain. When we are sick we sometimes get overwhelmed with our aches and pains that we forget about everyone else. We even forget about God. We think we should be resting and getting better. Thatís true to a point. But we also should continue to put our faith in God, pray and read His word. We can still call out to God and trust in Him to help us when we are overwhelmed with sickness.

2 Corinthians 4:16 ďThat is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.Ē (NLT)

Dear Lord, we pray for those who are sick. We pray for them and ask that they will be surrounded by encouraging people who will love and support them. We ask they will be surrounded with godly people who will remind them to draw close to You. We also pray, Lord, when we are sick to remember You and not to get overwhelmed with our sickness but to look for ways to be a witness and disciple for You even when we are sick. In Jesusí name. Amen.

When we are sick, we shouldnít give up on God. He will show us His will even in our sickness.

Even though our bodies are getting older and sometimes sick, we have the opportunity every day to allow our spirits to be renewed.

Our earthly bodies will sometimes get sick but we can always put our hope in God and focus on Him even in sickness.

Rather than focusing on the pain when we are sick, we need to focus on God.

Just remember no matter how we are suffering in sickness, we can seek God and wait quietly for Him to help.

Lamentations 3:25-26 ďThe Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.Ē (NLT)

Focus: When we are sick, we should focus on God and draw close to Him by reading His word and praying for His will to be done.
