restarting with Sparkpeople

Friday, June 27, 2014

I am restarting Sparkpeople after being absent for a while. I figure that it will take me a year to lose the extra bagage.

My finish line date is going to be June 27, 2015.

I am in my 3rd week of water aerobics and am looking forward to it each week.

I am going to stRt incorporating more water into my diet so that I can stay hydrated while outside either doing yard work or walking the dog.

I have an appointment to see a nutristionist about my weight loss and get some good stragies that will help the wbole family.

I started this last week walking Eragone. Eragone loves the attention and is so happy to see me with the leash.

I know that I have to start slow and build up to keep from getting hurt.

Ready For a new me

Thursday, April 03, 2014

Good evening everyone,

Over the last two years has been a roller coaster of emotions and poor eating and no exercise. The Result is weight gain of 60 pounds.

Goals:

1. Drink half my weight in water. As I lose weight recalculate. I have been drinking g too many carbonated beverages. I plan to replace those beverages slowly as to not get a withdrawal and headaches.

2. Read the bible every morning before getting up. Have God guide me and motivate me for the day ahead.

3. Fruit and vegetables: Start stocking up the fridge with snack size veggies and to replace the salty chips and snack cakes with the sweet citrus tasting fruit.

4. Exercise: Start slowly and work my way up to walking 3 miles a day. Start attending the local pool aerobics and the fitness center for the use of treadmill and bike while it is not good weather out.

5. Check in with Spark teams to get a dose of motivation and feedback along the way of my journey. I know that I have done it once before so I know that I can do it again.

Hope whoever views this has an Awesome evening with whatever you do.

A Surprise Christmas Gift

Saturday, December 28, 2013

I received a call from our local animal shelter. The person said that they are holding a couple of dogs for Robert Mercure. I told her that she must have the wrong number because we have not adopted any dogs. I told her that we tried to adopt a Siberian Huskey but the ASPCA wouldn't let us bring her home because we were going to keep her outside.

The lady said that a older gentleman came in and picked out two dogs and said they are for his grandson. She asked if we would like to have them fixed. I told her that we are coming out to see what they look like.

So without further ado let me introduce to you Isabel a cream color Labrador retriever
And Eragon a Dalmatian and Labrador retriever mix .

I went over to dads yesterday and he asked Robert if he liked his Christmas present. Robert said yes and how did you know what I wanted. My dad told Robert that he happen to be on Facebook the day that we posted about ASPCA wouldn't let us bring the dog home. He said one thing he can't stand for his Grandson to be heart broken. So he called our local shelter and asked if anyone could adopt a dog and if there is any restrictions on where we keep them. He said that the person said that if you have a fence area then you can keep the dogs outside or inside whatever your preference is.

Hope whoever reads this has an Awesome Weekend with whatever you do. Also have an Wonderful 2014.

I can't believe they wouldn't let you adopt a Siberian Huskey because you were going to keep it outside. Granted not chained up and with proper housing and warmth, but what dog isn't outside in a fenced yard at one time or another? What a great Grandpa!

A Busy Day

Saturday, August 24, 2013

Good evening everyone,
I woke up early and decided to go for a walk before breakfast then come back and fix breakfast just for me. My husband had taken my son out for a guy's breakfast out. Robert always look forward to it too.

After breakfast had to get ready to go to the bowling alley for Robert's fall league. He is on a new team with two teenage twin girls. Robert wanted to eat at the bowling alley but all that the place had was deep fried foods. So I told Robert that we are eating before we go.

After the bowling was done we came back home and got ready for supper. After supper I went on another walk, this time with my son.

When we came in the door, my husband asked me if I could go to Sonic and get some drinks. That idea was put on the back burner when my son said he couldn't complete his homework.

I told Robert that all we have to do is recycle the wireless and it should work. The school that my son goes to doesn't use paper for homework, but uses computers. They do have to do tests on paper.

I hope everyone has an Fantastic Weekend with all that you do.

Summer Challenges

Friday, June 28, 2013

All week I have been outside with my 13 year old son. I have been supervising him trimming the bushes in the front yard. I feel guilty about having him do all the work because the doctor has put me on weight restrictions with my back. She doesn't want me bending, pulling, pushing or lifting more than 5 pounds.

So we only spend 15 minutes out there at a time so that I don't over do on standings.

Doctor also told me to take Robert with me to the grocery store so that I am not over doing on the restrictions. Doctor also said to stay away from the fitness center. I am worried that I will gain back all the weight I have lost due to not working out. She did say that I could walk for 15 minutes at a time. But to rest for 20 afterwards.

This is why I haven't been around on the challenges this week. But will probably pop in to see how everyone else is doing.

Hope everyone has a good weekend with all you do.
Until next time,

I am scheduled to go and see a specialist in late July.

Robert is awesome! It's hard when we have to heavily rely on someone, especially a teen. God has his reasons. All the same....

Sharon, do not feel bad about having your kids do chores...

Are you ok for swimming or water walking? It is very low impact and it is nice to be in the water.

Sometimes when I have to take it easy, I watch my food better, so it might actually make eating easier. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about that :( But for one, it is good for Robert to do some extra work... plus since you are supervising, you get more time together...as for the exercising...look up some chair ones and ask your doctor about them. I know when i was at my heaviest and couldn't do a lot of standing, these were great... and they really do give you a good work out...just ask your doc first :) Don't let this be a set back...just an obstacle course to get through :)

I was on exercise restrictions for over 10 months, and found that if I kept my food spot on, that I was able to lose a little and atleast maintain most weeks. Watch what you are eating and where your calories are. From my experience, I did good when I was no higher than 1300 calories with maybe on higher day of no more the 1375. Its very discouraging not being able to exercise, but know that just because you cant exercise doenst mean the weight wont come off. If you need anything, feel free to stop by my page or send me a message. Ill be happy to share tips with you! emoticon

Don't feel bad about asking your son to help you out. A lot of times kids are glad they can be a help when mom or dad aren't up to it; it gives them pride in themselves. Just remember to show him you appreciate him. I hope you get better soon. emoticon
