Giant weeds and muscle pull

So, I have been running on my own for months now, gotten up to one hour every single Sunday without fail. I can run longer than that, but I choose not to. I was playing with my youngest child running up and down hills on Thursday when I felt a twinge in my left calf. I decided to sit down and see how it felt. I have pulled a muscle! It hurts like a son of a gun, and makes walking very awkward. I haven't exercised at all since it happened because it hurts, and I am feeling discouraged. The last time I hurt my leg in the fall, it was my hamstring, and it was three weeks before I got back into my routine. I have been eating awful, and feeling sorry for myself. I have to stop though and get back on track somehow. Yesterday, I did some yard work cutting down some saplings and weeds that are taking over the fence line in our back yard. That seemed to be okay, it didn't hurt my leg. If I can do that, I can find some exercise that won't aggravate my calf. Can't let this get me down, I need to really switch things up and make my strength training upper body and core while my hurt heals.

Body Fat %

My husband and I bought a scale that measures body fat % just before Christmas. I have been taking that measurement once monthly. I measured it March 31, it was at 32.4%. I was pretty pleased with that since my starting number on December 22 was 45.6%. I checked it today, as I usually do it on the 22nd of the month. My scale said that my body fat % has gone down to 21.4%! Down 11%, in 3 weeks! I checked it twice to make sure it wasn't lying to me, and I got the same number! So, I also did my measurements, and I dropped an inch in the waist and an inch in the hips, but my bust and chest went up? Bizarre. I am thinking that it must be related to the clothes I am wearing. No matter what the measurments say, or this percentage or that percentage, I know, without a doubt, that I am a much healthier person than I was 16 months ago, even just since January! So, I am going to keep doing what I am doing. .6 pounds to go to my new bathing suit!

Yesterday

So, I went skating yesterday, even arrived on time and was able to put in 40 minutes. I decided to run for my other 20 minutes of cardio, and so hit the track at the same arena. I timed myself to see how fast my mile was running. Last time I timed it, I was at about 13 minutes, really pushing. Yesterday, I ran a mile in 12 mins 30 seconds! I even did two more laps after that, to round out my run to 16 minutes with a two minute brisk walk at both the beginning and end for warm up and cool down. I also made the time to stretch afterwards, and I felt much more limber than the last time I stretched after a run (1 month ago I think..). My body is being so good to me right now, rewarding me for all of the good I have been to it!

Plateau finally broken!

I was so pleased to finally get below 168 yesterday morning, and this morning I was down again! I have struggled for weeks to get below 168, every time I would get there, my appetite would run wild and I would just eat right back up to 175 or so. I decided to increase my cardio back to 1 hour daily, and I think that really helped. With that extra bit of calories being burned, I am allowed to eat more which deals with my food cravings. I also think that being positive about my plan has helped a lot. Thanks to all of my spark buddies and my at home buddy for supporting me! We can all do this with a little help from our friends!

Doesn't it feel great? Congrats! I know i just broke mine. I hadn't lost any weight in almost 3 weeks and now its just flying off! Just remember to keep moving forward.

    I have the same problem! I get to around 128 or so and I eat, eat, eat my way back up again. Like you I increase my cardio so if I do eat I won't gain as much/as fast.

I went out last night with my hubby for a HOT DATE! We went to supper at East Side Mario's, I love their lifestyle section of their menu. They list the calories of the items and also Carbs, Fats and Proteins! Love it. Then, we went to a dance, and we had a slow dance, I did some fast dancing with some girlfriends and we won a new kitchen faucet as a prize to replace our leaky one! Yippee! I had a ton of fun, and felt great the whole night. Normally, I would have had a drink or two, but I just filled up on Diet Coke all night, and didn't even have any of the late night buffet since I stop eating at 8 pm and wasn't really hungry anyway!
