Very busy week, and still seeing results.

I read a quote in an email from Sparkpeople, and I can't remember it, but the gist is that we can sometimes be the stumbling blocks on our journey to be healthy, without realizing it we sabotage ourselves. So, I took a closer look at my current habits, and indeed, I am putting up roadblocks in my own way without even noticing! I am not organized. I have been in the past, but recently I am just stumbling through my days trying to keep ahead of the chaos in my home. Clean laundry piles up on my couch, even when my Mom comes to help me by folding laundry, it doesn't get put away. I will put off doing dishes if anything better (or worse for that matter) comes along to do instead. I don't put things away when I am done with them, and so my children have not learned to do this either, and stuff lays around our home and gets broken when it is stepped on, kicked, or left out in the sun too long. I am really working hard this week to plan ahead for meals. I am packing a lunch this week for myself, and have our dinners planned for each night. When my Tuesday night dinner plan didn't work out for lack of a specific ingredient, I made my Saturday night planned meal instead and bumped Tuesday's dinner to Saturday. I am making sure that I get creative when life throws me a curve ball! I think I have finally caught on again to how important planning, organization and a little bit of prep work is to being healthy and having fun with my family. Also, I have a ton more energy to accomplish all of these little things that have to be done. I am not sure if I am making sense to anyone here, but I guess what it boils down to is that I am finally putting in the "ground" work needed to succeed. It is making it easier to roll with the punches, and because of that, I am seeing huge results during one of the busiest weeks of my life, and I am darn proud of myself!

  Totally know where you are coming from. I've been over busy with work lately and even work is sliding which is bad when you are self-employed. My house only looks so good since DH cleans the kitchen and I try to stay out of certain areas of the house.

When stuff gets out of whack I go back to flylady.com and rebuild my schedule one step at a time.

I have had a great start to my week. I am walking in the mornings with my best friend, we did some stairs both days. Today, I added a second hour on my own, and last night I did some swimming in the evening. I am eating a TON of food, which is what my tracker calls for. I am determined to really work hard this week, and see some good results. I have been having a ton of people comment to me this week on how good I look, and lots of people asking how I am losing weight. I often explain Sparkpeople, and how much of a useful tool it has been for me. I am really enjoying my energy level being so high again. Feeling great! Wish the weather would act more like summer!

    Wow - you are doing great! Fantastic on all of the exercise!!! Isn't it the best feeling when someone takes notice that you are making progress? I am doing this for myself but still, it is nice to hear from someone else too. emoticon

Back to cardio today

Well, I went for a 30 minute brisk walk today to get back in the swing of things, it sure felt good to get out there! I increased my calorie goal accordingly, and I am curious to see how it goes for the rest of the week. Not much else to say tonight!

  


Summer is here

Well, it is definitely summer on the calendar, but the weather is not cooperating around here! Lots of baseball in the rain the last 3 days, gettin kinda sick of it! Nothin much else is goin on with me, with the kids home for summer vacation, I have done no exercise at all. I did decide that I would take a week off though, so I will start back to my cardio on Friday. My legs are still sore today, trying to do some quad stretches, and it is still quite difficult and painful. A break is just what I need! I am looking forward to enjoying cardio again, but honestly, right now, I am not missin it! I can say for sure too that I am not missing my strength training either!

    I love your honesty on this blog. It is good to give yourself a break now and then. Just remember that if you are not working out then you are not burning as many calories, so keep that in mind with what you take in. You don't want ruin all of your hard work. Take it from my experience on that matter miss...... LOL Really keep up the good work.

  I hope you feel better soon. I was having problems with my bad knee when I started. My Chiropractor just told me its because my body isn't used to it being used that way. It has been 15 years since I've been on a bike.

Finally reached my mini goal!

I was very nervous to step on the scale this morning, after not weighing in all weekend. I ate really well all weekend though, and rested with no cardio. I tracked my food on Sparkpeople while I was away at my oldest childs baseball tournament, and that totally kept me on track. So, this morning my weight was finally below 165! I am wearing my new swimsuit, and I will post some pics later. Thanks for all the support from everyone cheering me on, it made it that much easier to stick with it, and not give up!
