So, I went through my archives and added some pics to my page, but, very disappointed. I can't find my "before' picture from last January when I was at my top weight. I will keep looking, because I really want to look at it and use it to motivate me to never go there again!

I am really struggling these last few days to keep moving. Feeling so sluggish. I know not every day is going to be fantastic, so, I can work through this. I am not giving up! I am worth it!

    I took it a little easy yesterday too, had a less intense walk and bumped up my calories to my goal by a light ride on my stationary bike. I felt my energy level start to lift last night, and when I got up this morning, I felt worlds better than I have for about 3 days. I am pleased that I read an article here about active resting, and it really helped me through, without giving up my workouts, just decreasing the intensity. I have burned a lot of calories this week, and am looking forward to seeing the results start to show up on the scale. I am also very glad to have my energy level back up! Thanks for the support Kandice, I hope your energy level rebounds for you soon too!

    Hi there - I feel the same. I am not tired as in "I had a long day" tired. My body is telling me it is tired because it has been working hard. I have learned that along with hard work, good rest is also just as important. Last night I went to bed early and took this morning off at the gym. In the past I have just worked through the fatigue and it just made it worse in the long run because I wasn't able to keep up with an exhausting routine. Weight loss and health improvements happen during rest so make sure that even though you want to keep going, give yourself a break now and then when your body is letting you know it needs one, even if it is not on a scheduled off day (and I don't mean let yourself be lazy and take a workout off). Just don't make it a 2 day or 2 week rest! I have a spin class tonight and am going to get to the gym early to do my upper body weight training before the class starts because I missed that this morning. That way I can still get my workout for the day in! Take Care.

Active Resting day

So, today is a day that I go ice skating for 40 minutes. I am feeling like a real homebody though, and need to catch up on laundry, dishes and take down my Christmas Tree! So, I am skipping skating, and instead will do some Wiifit cardio tonight after the kids are in a bed to still get in my cardio but at a lower intensity. I still want to get my time in, but I really need a break from all of the hard work I have been doing lately to let it all sink in.

i am just so grateful to have found SparkPeople. This resource is an invaluable new tool in my toolbox for changing my lifestyle. I am always learning from the articles. The nutrition tracker keeps me on track and helps me plan my meals really well, and the fitness tracker motivates me to log more and more cardio minutes each week. My most favourite thing about SparkPeople though, I have to say, is the other people making use of this wonderful website. Kandice199, you inspire me with your go get em attitude, and your positivity uplifts me. Whenever I think about giving up, I think about all of the people here working so hard towards their own goals which are all similar to mine. I also find the Challenge groups helpful, and I push myself more and more to achieve higher goals. Thanks Sparkguy for starting SparkPeople and thanks to everyone here who keep plugging away!

I am so proud of myself today. On Saturday, I jogged 546 strides while on my walk. When at the arena today, I measured the distance of that many strides to equal 1/4 mile. That goal reached, I decided to push on and was able to complete a 1/2 mile jog to reach my second fitness goal! I was grinning like a cheshire cat the entire time I was jogging.

    You are doing so good! 2 FITNESS GOALS IN ONE DAY!!! Before you know it you will be able to jog/run 3 or 4 miles without stopping. You are doing it just right, slowly but surely. Thanks for the birthday wish to my daughter. Great job on your weight loss this week too. I saw your post on our challenge board. I am so glad that I have another person seeing this through! I know we will both be there at the end of week 12 with our goals met - and even if it is 12 instead of 24 lbs lost, it will still be a success and will carry us into the next 12 week challenge where then you can reach 24, or 36! Take Care (and keep up the running!).
