Week 1 Update for June goals

Tuesday, June 07, 2011

Okay, so my first goal is to reach 191 pounds, I am at 196, down .2 pounds from last week, so that is definitely progress. My second goal is to keep on track with my tracking, that didn't go so well last week, but I am back to it now. My third goal was about my cardio, and I ended up having 2 rest days, with the kids off school on Friday, I just let it slide, should have found a way to get them involved! Inches and BMI are a monthly measurement. No progress on the bike riding, I need to find a bike first! The screens have still taken way too much of my time, and I got very little done around the house.

As for the week in other regards, it has been a tough one. I did a lot of emotional eating, and when I finally stopped doing that, the anxiety I had been stuffing with food, it reared it's ugly head. I have been feeling similar to the way I did as a teenager when I battled bulimia and anorexia. I am working through it, and taking support from my running buddy, so I know it will be okay, I just want it down so I can look back.

June Goals

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

My biggest goal for June is to reach 191 pounds, which is 5.2 pounds loss for the month. I also want to keep on track with my tracking to attain this goal. I intend to have 1 rest day a week, Saturday, and the other days my cardio will be getting myself to the school and back many times a day for the kids and my shifts. I will do this either biking or walking. I would like to lose an inch off each of these areas: Bust, Waist, Hips, Chest and increase my H20 to 45%. My BMI should go down to 31.9 with the weight loss as well. I want to have my youngest child learn how to ride a bike, and start taking family bike rides together. I want to spend less time on screens, and get some work done around the house.

Lots of goals! We'll see at the end of June how it goes!

I posted my June goals last night too. Great Goals. I fear putting a weight loss goal as I tend to lose so slowly so I put program goals which if followed should allow me lose weight - fingers crossed.

Nice goal. I want to be around 215 by the end of the month. Last week when I weighed in I was at 220. This weekend I probably gained a couple of pounds so I have my work cut out for me. Time to get back on track.

My wonderful husband and I had a long talk last night about living a better lifestyle on a whole as a family. We agree that we need to be better prepared for meals, get active together, and cut down on our snacking habits. Today, I bought us some produce and we have recently invested in 1/2 a cow and a pig in our freezer. We are going to work together as a team to improve our health and help insure a fit and happy future for our whole family.

Finding Balance

Wednesday, May 25, 2011

So, I took a break from running again, about 2 1/2 weeks off. I was feeling very rundown, sore throat, constantly tired, and I had lost the joy in running again. So, reevaluation complete, I am going to cut back on the running so I can continue to do it. Looking back at the first time I ran, I was about the weight I am right now, and I was running 1 day a week. The rest of the time I walked, and it was enough for my body. As I take off the weight I have regained, I will be able to run more, but I think until I get down to about 170, I am going to keep it at 1 day a week, and alternate my other cardio days between biking, swimming and rollerblading. We will see how it goes. Also, I am going to track my food again, but I am not going to aim for a calorie range. The first week I tracked my food, I droppped three pounds. The second week I tracked, I tried to get my calories under 2000, and I know that is enough for me physically, but mentally I felt restricted, and I rebelled. I am just going to go with my gut, literally and see where it takes me, as long as I keep tracking and keep losing. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I keep learning this lesson over and over again too - my body really does know what's best for it if I just tune in and listen! Good for you. When something you used to love becomes a "should do" instead of a "want to do" it's a sure sign it's time to change something.

Your plan sounds awesome!! I have a friend desperately trying to lose weight so I told him to track his food. He tracked yesterday and called me complaining that he was starving. I told him not to restrict himself at all but just to track what he normally eats to see where he's at. I don't know what it is about people tracking their food but its like they can't because they don't want to see how "bad" their being. I love that you're starting this way and that you're listening to your body! I know that you are going to do awesome!!!!

You are so smart! That is exactly what I needed to hear! I keep comparing myself to what I used to beable to do and then just stop trying cuz I can't do that any more.

Also great decision of the tracking, tracking food is super hard for me but it helps the most!

Its so hard to go back and start from scratch, isn't it? I'm doing the SAME EXACT THING. A year ago I was running a marathon, now I"m doing a c25k program and lucky to be able to run more than 90 sec at a time. But, you know what? I'm enjoying it immensely! I"m only running about 2x per week and am enjoying cycling and swimming...and just plain walking!

I'm also back to tracking everything!

We can do this! Glad you're back!

Sounds like you're listening to your body - smart thinking! Good luck with your progress. And hey, summer is coming - lots of fun things to do outside that aren't running!

take care!

10K training Wk 4 D 2

Wednesday, May 04, 2011

Today was a 2 mile run, got it done in 29:04, all running. I had a hard time with this one, moved very slow, but I kept running the entire time. My check in yesterday was good, I am down 3.2 pounds from last Tuesday, that was an awesome feeling. I will be keeping my intake in my calorie range this week, and tracking my deficit also. Last night I slept with my heart rate monitor on, and took my resting heart rate this morning, it was 55! I was pleased, it is a marker of my cardio progress that has nothing to do with the scale. Yippee!

Umm not to be a downer, but when my resting heart rate is that low it means my thyroid or BP meds are outta whack! Have you had your thyroid checked? Just throwing that out there...
