Wednesday review, Thursday Goals

Another very busy day. Thank goodness I had some goals set, because my plan for the day completely got derailed.

1. Walk 1.75 miles I got this in in the evening, not the morning like I had planned, but I managed 2 miles instead in 36:43.
2. Drink 10 cups water So far, I am at 7 1/2, but I intend to fulfill this before going to bed.
3. Track every morsel. We attended an all you can eat pizza/pasta fundraiser buffet, and I ate way too much with really no way to track, so, I estimated it at around 1100 calories. I am over on my food budget today, but I know this won't be a regular thing. Also, I am not going to try to get in my range right now, just focus on tracking everything.
4. Checking in on my blog right now.
5. Plan lunches and suppers make grocery list. With the way my day went, I just could not fit this in, will have to get to it tomorrow.

4/5 on my goals.

Wednesday goals

So, I didn't set Tuesday goals. Not going to stress over it. I did blog yesterday, and I walked for 33 minutes. I did not track my food or drink my water. I also did not plan lunches. So, for my Monday goals, I was 2/5. However, I completed 2 of my weekly tasks, I created business cards and completed the photo editing for the wedding I shot recently. That was very important, the client has already paid me, and has friends interested in finding out more about me. So, while I didn't track everything, I certainly was busy enough that I didn't snack as much, and I feel okay about my day.

No Tuesday goals set down on blogland, but, I got a ton accomplished today. I attended my book club meeting today, and I was just exhilirated by this opportunity to share with intellectuals and walked away feeling very stimulated. I went for lunch with a friend, very much enjoyed a salmon stirfry and we shared a chocolaty dessert rather than ordering one for each of us. I also spent more time working in the kitchen and got some laundry folded and put away. All in all, a very successful day.

Contrast and similarities

While looking at my Sparkpage recently, I noticed something. My profile picture shown on my posts and the picture at the top of my page look remarkably similar. In both photos I am wearing the same shade of blue on top and black pants. I also noted a huge contrast in the image I portray in each photo. The photo in my running jacket is right before I ran my first HM. I weighed around 175 pounds and was not satisfied with the weight I was at. I was the healthiest and most active self I can ever remember being since I was a child. My energy levels were high, I was motivated to spend time with family and friends and I was making time for myself to participate in positive and worthwhile endeavours. The photo in long pants is taken just over a month ago on a normal day. I weighed 217 pounds and am certainly not satisfied with the weight I was at. I am very unhealthy with chronic breathing issues and not feeling at all interested in exercising. Energy levels so low I spent most days on the couch watching depressing television shows and making no efforts to focus on the important people in my life especially myself.

I want to be back to the self who was trained to run a HM. Except for one thing. In the process of getting back there, I need to learn acceptance. I need to learn to appreciate where I am at for what it is worth. That doesn't mean that I won't set goals to achieve, but I need to learn that I am a worthwhile person and that I shouldn't attach my self worth to my weight. My weight is a health concern, not a reflection of my degree of worthiness. I'm not sure how to get there, but I am going to figure it out.

Sunday check in and Monday goals

I had a pretty good day today. I got a lot accomplished, including completing one of my tasks for the week: Put away Halloween decorations. My husband brought in the last two hangers on for me, so I recruited the kids to help me sort them, purge the unnecessary items and got them put away in storage! Whoo hooo!

Sunday

1. Eat no cake or ice cream. We had a family birthday to attend, and I avoided eating any dessert, I did however drink a ginger ale, but that was not on my goals to avoid, and it is not something I do often.
2. Drink 10 cups water . Finishing up 9 ad 10 as I type.
3. Track every morsel . Done, including the ginger ale.
4. Check in on my blog. Done, right now.
5. Walk . I did not complete this task, it just did not fit into my day and I didn't make it do so. This was not a scheduled walk day, I just wanted to try and get in an extra one for back up in case one of my scheduled walks doesn't happen, so I'm not totally let down on this one.

Goals for Monday

1. Walk 25 minutes
2. Drink 10 cups water
3. Track every morsel
4. Check in on my blog
5. Plan lunches and suppers for the week, shop for groceries.

I had a very successful day yesterday, the first time I have managed even one day of success for a very long time. I am very pleased.

Goals for Saturday

1. Walk 1.5 miles What a hectic day it was with the kids having friends over and running out to activities for them, I didn't see any chance to get this in. Then, in the evening, I had the brilliant idea of the kid that was home, the friend that was here and I joining a family dog for a walk. We got in the 1.5 miles in 28 minutes, and we had fun too!
2. Drank my 10 cups of water.
3. Track every morsel. I did this for sure, and knowing that I was tracking made it much easier to make healthy choices. I almost gave in to the candy temptation on my counter, and then realized I didn't even want it!
4. I made my blog yesterday, and here I am getting today's done.
Yippee! 4 for 4

Also, I did work on my weekly goals already, I took almost all of the Halloween decorations down from outside and brought them in the house to finish drying. There are 2 things hanging too high for me to reach, and hubby needs to take those down. I will finish this up today, and do some work on the other ones as well. Feeling motivated and focused again, FINALLY!


I already set my goals for today, but I am still going to post them, and my goals for Monday too.
