1. Drink 8 - 10 cups of water. emoticon
2. Eat 6 freggies, 2 maximum as fruit. emoticon
3. Walk a minimum of 15 minutes. emoticon
4. Stretch after walking for minimum 10 minutes. emoticon

I very easily achieved drinking my water today. I ate a lot of freggies today, but I am not sure if it was 6, so I did well here, but can't say for sure goal met. My 15 minute "gotta get it done" walk on the treadmill lasted 45 minutes. The 10 minutes of stretching afterwards is now one of my favourite parts of the day! Up way too late, headed to bed now.

Daily goals

1. Drink 8 - 10 cups of water. emoticon
2. Eat 6 freggies, 2 maximum as fruit. emoticon
3. Walk a minimum of 15 minutes. emoticon
4. Stretch after walking for minimum 10 minutes. emoticon

Drinking my water has become second nature again. Really glad of that.
Focusing on freggies really helped me today, I was feeling munchy in the afternoon, but I managed to eat an apple to cope, and realized that I had actually been hungry!
I walked for 15 minutes with the kiddos today, and that would have been enough to satisfy goal #3, but it was at a very slow pace to explore the park we were at. It was enough for sick kiddo, but I wanted more. So, I dropped them off at home and walked on my home for 30 minutes. When I mapped it afterwards, it came up that my average pace was 3.1 miles an hour! Lately, I have been happy with anything over 2.3, so that was a big reward for all of my efforts!
I stretched after the walk, and it felt great. Stretching yesterday was very beneficial, because otherwise I think I would have been too sore to walk today.

Feeling pretty buoyant right now, and really enjoying my small successes.

To do list approach to blogging

Saturday, March 09, 2013

I used to use the to do list approach to blogging. It kept me focused on my daily tasks required to accomplish my weight loss goals. I have noticed another member of my Cloverleaf team that uses it, and it really reminded me of how useful it is, so I am going to use it again for this week, and see how it goes. If it is successful, I will continue with it.

Daily goals

1. Drink 8 - 10 cups of water.
2. Eat 6 freggies, 2 maximum as fruit.
3. Walk a minimum of 15 minutes.
4. Stretch after walking for minimum 10 minutes.

So, for today, Saturday, here is my checklist.

My fruit I ended up having 3 servings of it. Bananas are so yummy, but they are 2 servings in 1! I had to use up the cantaloupe I bought instead of throwing it out again. My walk was almost 1 hour. My feet hurt, and I struggled to finish the last stretch of the walk, but I was able to buy cough medicine while I was out rather than having to drive to get it. I love saving gas like that! Stretching felt wonderful after the long walk. Ready for tomorrow, going to get another great walk in, but probably not for as long. Remember to turn your clocks ahead before you go to bed!

Anything else you would like to share with your Team

Friday, March 08, 2013

My goal for this week has been to eat a minimum of 5 freggies every day. I have really succeeded at this, and starting tomorrow I will be upping my minimum to 6 freggies every day. I will keep that to 2 fruits, and the remainder will be veggies. I only got in walks on 5 days this week. For next week, I will be making sure to get in a walk every single day. Also, I need to start writing down my water intake again, because I have let that slide a bit this week. All in all, I feel like I am improving a little bit each day.

Way to go CLOVER! Your consistency this week is great. Progress is the goal, not perfection.

Do you need some motivation or advice? Ask for it!

Thursday, March 07, 2013

So, today is Day 6 of the blog assignment for the 5% challenge. When I read this question, my first reaction was no, I am doing alright. Getting my exercise in, getting creative about eating my freggies. However, we can always use motivation! And, I have been getting great advice all week long whenever I read the blogs of my fellow Cloverleaves. So, rather than asking for more of what I am already getting from my teammates, I just want to say a great big thanks to everyone who is posting their blogs, and to everyone who has shown me support by commenting on my blogs and by leaving notes on my page. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

That's how I feel too! As soon as I started posting my blog, I was getting comments and advice right away; no need to ask for more of what I've already been receiving all week. I'm glad we did the blog assignment, because it really showed me how much support is here on SparkPeople.
