Very Good Day!

So far today I have 109 spark points. I think that is one of my personal highs! I have not gave in and eaten tons of sweets or junk food. I have also drank my eight glasses of water and worked out 2 days in a row. I am just enjoying the euphoria of a couple of good days!

Doing Better, But Not Quite There.

So, I am still struggling with eating properly and not snacking like crazy. I decided to create some Vision Collages to place in the snack cabinets and refrigerators. I hope this will help me stop when I decide to I want some chips, peanut butter or chocolate!

I am also going to try and make a decided effort to work out at least 3 times a week. I am having issues with this right now because I wore new shoes walking and have blisters on 3 toes! That was a definite lesson learned.

BTW, Happy 4th of July! Thank you to all that have served! emoticon

    I love the idea of vision collages although I've never taken the time to do one. I bet even the process of making one helps affirm the commitment to make great choices. For me, I like to get any temptations out of my home altogether. This week it was pulled pork... I can handle chips and most sweets, but man, oh, man every time I looked in the fridge and saw that tasty batch of pulled pork I had made for my parents' visit, I had to open it up and have just a little taste. I finally had to give most of it away... We all have our Achilles Heels and I think I just found one of mine! Mmmm.... Hang in there and keep up the good work... it's all about little changes, one day and one meal at a time! emoticon

    Awesome idea on the collages if they help you! For me keeping treats out of eyesight can also help -- if the chocolate chips (or whatever) are buried behind other stuff, I tend to forget about them.

Making a leap...

So, I am making a huge leap and posting my first blog! I have been really hesitant to do this because what do I have to say that is informative, productive or interesting?

Well, I am currently in a rut. I am having problems eating healthy. I have been on a huge sugar kick lately! I am a self professed chocoholic and general sugar addict.

On top of that my exercising has hit the rocks as well. I had a DVD that I loved doing, but I have managed to scratch the crap out of it! I also loved walking outside, but there have been bear sightings (Two cubs) in our neighborhood. BEARS scare the crap outta me! Especially Momma BEARS! emoticon On the plus side, I will be doing a lot of yard work around our house and my Grandma's this weekend so that is a step in the right direction! emoticon

I guess I am going to have to try and get it together. It is so easy to let your mind use excuses to get out of things! NO MORE I SAY!

Also, if anyone has any suggestions or advice please hit me with it! Hope everyone has a great day and weekend! emoticon emoticon

    emoticon on your fist blog. The best way to get out of a rut is to do something completely different, the opposite to what you are doing now. Try different DVDs, walk with a friend. Find a zoo or animal place that can help you to not be so fearful of bears. I realise you do need to be careful, but maybe learning about them will ease a bit of the fear.

Chocolate now there is another story. For me I started eating the 70% or above chocolate. Because they are a little on the bitter side you don't eat as much. Now I don't eat any other kind. Also the higher the % the better it is for you in moderation.

    Well, if you take your favorite DVD to a movie rental store, usually they can restore it! As for me, I love Zumba on the Wii! I used to hate working out too until I found it! I love to dance so it doesn't feel like working out. Try different DVDs to see what intrigues you. If you like it, you will do it! If you like the pool, swimming burns a lot of calories! If you don't want to walk near your home, maybe there is a track you could walk at. As for the sugar, I struggled with it for so long! I made myself give up sweets for 2 weeks. If I wanted something sweet, I had to eat fruit...so I would have a banana with peanut butter or Nutella or a chocolate banana smoothie (1 banana, 1 cup skim milk, 2 T sugar free choc syrup). Oh, it was wonderful! After 2 weeks, I still craved sweet, but I craved fruit instead of chocolate cake! Hey, good luck and I know it is hard, but we are your cheerleaders! You CAN do it!
