Do More For You Week

This was the week 1 ITC- Do More For You

I've found at many times that I have struggled to do anything for me sometimes. So I've worked to carve out time for myself despite the many things I have going on within my life at this time because I'm worth it. A healthy journey for me has to have me in it.

So here's what my goals were for this week's challenge:

Get more than 6 hours sleep - emoticon

Eat 4-7 fruits and veggies - emoticon

10,000+ steps streak started back - Well, 2 out of 3 aren't bad.

    Good goals! Even putting yourself first takes baby steps. Always take at least 15 minutes for yourself everyday. Pretty soon you'll be craving more time for you. That would be a good thing.

    Those are great goals. Nice work this week! As for the steps, you'll get there.

Like you said, you can't fully focus on your health if you're not committing to setting time aside for you, so sounds like it's time to do some prioritizing =) You can absolutely make time, even if it's brief!

June's total progress/July goals

Here's June's final progress! I had a wonderful month. I'm also on a 10,000 step streak that's now extended into July! This is the longest streak yet!!

Steps - 291,469 (ave.- 9715.63)
Miles- 125.68 (ave.- 4.189)

10,000 steps total for June - 21
*(20 of these days include in my current streak of 25 to date!!)

1- 15,000 step badge that was 19967 ( this made me sad)
* It was so close to my first 20,000 badge. Hopefully, I'll reach that in July!

2 weeks of reaching my 70,000 weekly steps too!!

July's Goals:
-to continue my streaks daily and weekly
-to ave. 5 miles daily
-to ave. 10,000 steps daily

We are having very rainy weather with more rain to come. I've been having to get creative to get in my steps. So, I thought I would include some brainstorming ideas that I've came across to possibly help out others struggling with the weather.

Places that may help getting in the steps are walking videos, stores, malls, an indoor track, empty floor of a parking deck, sport stores (to try out the treads for a few mins each emoticon ), gyms that have free trials, free community gyms or indoor flea market. Is there any others that I've left out? It so please share!!! I have access to a few of these to help me along in my journey to get healthy.

    Good going! If you have stairs in your home just walk them up and down more often. It'll be very good for you.

    Wow great job! When I go to the grocery store, I usually try to do one to two laps around the store before I start shopping (way to get in extra steps), depending on how much time I've got.

Fitbit first

Last week was the first time I met my goal of getting 10,000 steps daily for the whole week. I achieve 109% of my goal of 70,000 steps. I also am on a streak 11 day streak of achieve 10,000 steps daily. I got a badge for 500 miles! emoticon

Right now I have a zip fitbit. I'm thinking about getting a fitbit that tracks the stair counts. Does anyone have has one that knows if hiking counts as steps or stairs on it? Also if you change fitbits out does it start you over?

    Yes, my wife and I have the Fitbit one and it tracks "floors" climbed up (not down).

    Not sure about your last question but I have fit bit one and it tracks your inclines above 10 as flights (fit bit one counts steps that you walk and flights you climb), good luck

    I have the fit bit....it measures stairs, steps and sleep as well as calories burned.

I love it!

I wear it everyday.....

I'm not sure how it would work if you switched......maybe send them an email inquiring about it?

April/ May - goals

April's warmer days helped me a lot. I've been pretty busy so this is the first I've had a chance to blog on April's results. I am glad to be able to say I've met 3/4 goals! May has started off to be trying but I look forward to taking positive healthy steps to my healthy life. I tried skating for the first time in my adult life this month. I was taken once as a teenager. I'm being brave or crazy (don't know yet) but I got out there instead of sitting on the sidelines watching others have fun.

April goals
*Steps 180,000-200,000 (202,985 emoticon )
* Miles 75-85 (87.55 emoticon )
* 10,000 steps 5-6 times (7x's emoticon )
* Strength training 4-8 times ( 0 emoticon )

May's goals
* Steps 195,000-210,000
* Miles 80-90
* 10,000 Steps 6-8 times
* Strength training 3-4 times

March/April - goals

I was surprised by the tally results for March. I had a new high daily step count of 13272(progress yay!). I also earned a 250 lifetime miles badge. I met two out of four March goals. March had quite a few challenges, and rescheduled/canceled activities. I didn't like that I put myself last many days by skipping breakfast, extremely late nights, canceling things (because something else was more important) and lack of focus on food intake. These are all things that got me unhealthy in the first place. I am working on this month.

March goals
* Steps 150,000-160,000 - 187,948 met (this surprised me)
* Miles 65-73 - 79.54 met (this surprised me)
* 10,000 steps 5-6 times - 2x's
* Stretch training 4-8 times - oops strength training but 0 was met

April goals
*Steps 180,000-200,000
* Miles 75-85
* 10,000 steps 5-6 times
* Strength training 4-8 times

April is off to a great start with a two day streak of 10,000 steps. This is the first time I've managed this. I'm also working on bad habits that keep slipping in and doing good on them.
