I have felt adrift the last few days, some nights sleeping less than four hours with thunderstorms raging into the morning. I have a wet basement today, but given what I saw on my bike ride this morning, it was par for the course. Everywhere there is standing water.

I start working with a private client today and feel the extra hour I stayed in bed helped me achieve 8 hours.

I received a copy of Ty Bollinger's book at the library and enjoying comparing it to Dr. Agus, End of Illness audio cd book. Apparently Dr. Agus thinks we all have hours to burn listening to his curriculum vitae . So far two of nine disks I walk away with "get personalized medecine". Ty Bollinger on the otherhand really packs a lot of data in one page. No way to summarize the book, but I do intend to dig into pH pages deeper. I have always wanted to understand this aspect of body chemistry better.

  Sleeping has been hard here, too. The weather has been hot and humid so it's very uncomfortable trying to sleep.
I find myself digging into somethings deeper after reading a book. I'm getting better at knowing what's right and what is not.

busy but not gone

Been a few days since I have blogged. Got the iphone sorted out and have been testing task manager apps. I have started using wunderlist and have been more productive as I schedule and knock out tasks and habits.

I am now using a CDMA iphone and the reception is pretty good. It will be sad to drop my cable modem and tv but that was the way to add the iphone without significant extra cost. I love you NCIS, and TCM.
TTFN.

Today I built a birdhouse with my table saw in my newly organized and swept garage. That fact that the floor was clear and I could find tools was only seconded to my observing shop safety that I learned from Norm. I love you Norm. TTFN. Lest you think I created some kind of yankee pride shopcraft, it was recycled wood, and not necessarily pretty stuff. Still it was a fun thing to make, and now I have 4 feeders up - that is a 300% increase in stations. I read if you want to double your birds, triple your feeders.

I started training with lumosity. Surprisingly problem solving skills are starting out excellent, not surprisingly, everthing else is whacked, memory, attention. I am looking forward to seeing some improvement. Lumosity is brain training for improved cognition.

Well off to bed.

Last few days have been a good investment. LOVE THE CLEAN GARAGE!!!!

    I bet it was such a joy to work in a clean garage! Hope the increase in feeders yields the desired effects on birdie appearances.

I was curious about luminosity, I don't want to know what it says about my attention and memory, lol. Problem solving is always a great skill to have!

I wonder what's up with me. I dont have a taste for vegetables at all, or nutribullet shakes. I pushed myself to eat some honeydew melon yesterday. I still pass on the coffee cream. Im in short supply of pants that fit well, and it will soon be time to replace them with smaller ones. Overall the changes are slow and I feel on track for my maintenance habits.

I found myself wondering about the effects of changes in atmospheric pressure on appetite. We are in this pattern of approaching storms. Wonder if that has an effect on energy and appetite.

  Changes in pressure don't affect me, but an increase in humidity does. As it gets hotter and muggier, my appetite decreases. Salads are the only thing I want. And lots of water!

    I don't know about it's effect on appetite, but I do not that those (nasty!) changes in atmospheric pressure are my worst migraine triggers. They mess up my whole system, so I wouldn't be surprised if they mess up appetite & energy as well!

Mother Nature is a strong force!

I have been having a major lack in appetite lately too, however I think mine is stress related. Also it seems after a really good (sweaty) workout, I have no appetite. I literally have to force myself to eat dinner. This is new for me!

YAY for needing smaller pants! that must feel wonderful emoticon

black coffee and an iphone

the whole smartphone thing is intense. I remind myself, that now is the lower pressure time to move over to a new technology but zoiks! a new carrier and device and I dont get a signal inside my house.

I will be spending time at the apple store I see.

Meanwhile, I am still ok with the black coffee. I dont know whether it has an impact on other food/fat consumption but time will tell.

I still have a four year old flip phone. Peter has a newer smart phone and can't even access his voice mail. He spends a great deal of time at Walmart being trained!

no fat, less coffee

I have been sipping on the same cup of coffee all day, without my usual dose of half and half. After skimming Kessler's book it occurred to me, I am drinking a little coffee with my cream, and the less cream, perhaps the less coffee.

I have never been tempted by the fake stuff, but in a pinch I have used it. I think I will stick to iced, black coffee and see what happens.

Part of the food rehab suggestion is to identify food cues...and be ready for them.
Cue: coffee, starbucks, cream...plan
Have all the black coffee I want without sugar or fake sweetener.

I ususally have 2 large cups daily, but today, half that. I am a little sleepy, but not slinky-like.

  I have been drinking my coffee black for 40 years at least. I never used milk or cream and once
I started not using sugar, I discovered I liked it better.
