plastering breakfast leftovers on my face - natural beauty?

Sunday, June 22, 2008

I found a natural beauty article on the SP site that reminded me of the store LUSH.

We shop in places that make us feel good, we eat to feel good, we make friends that help us feel good. How much of that should come from within, without being vanity?

I don't have answer why, but have an intuition that one should feel beautiful. So then I plaster the leftovers from breakfast onto my face and inhale the scent of blueberries deeply. Am I beautiful because I allow myself some form of uniqueness, or before then, when I just haven't acknowledge it yet?

I believe that everyone " has been wondrously and marvelously made" before you were ever born. Its a quote from a favorite book of mine. Sometimes a simple smell, a feeling is sometimes needed to remind you just how wondrous , marvelous, and beautiful you are. Honey, beauty should come from within but ever once in a while the barn needs a new coat of paint to maintain and help it look its best, don't it? That's not vanity, its maintenance. emoticon

simple pleasures

Tracking nutrition has opened my eyes widely.

I always said it's hard to live without dairy fat. Now I am practising portion control. Yesterday (day 1) I skipped coffee. Today I made a fresh pot. There were 5 tablespoons of cream in the carton. I started with one. At three, the color was still darker than I like, and so I went for 5. Today is an experiment in Stage 1. What changes must I make? What little luxuries can I keep in moderation?

Will this one cup of coffee be worth the 100 calories? Will it taste better knowing what I will give up to keep it for this one day? Will it become summer to my heart, but not all four season of the year?

Interesting to look back later and find out my future choice.

A month ago I would have said - are you kidding? Now I am ready to consider black coffee. I had a migraine today and I don't think it's coffee withdrawal, but it might be.

I also like coffee with a lot of creamer and sugar. I pour half a cup and then add 1 tsp of each - 35 or so cals. I rarely drink a whole cup of coffee anyway. Since I've been pouring 1/2 a cup, I now only drink 1/4 of a cup!!! Try using less coffee to start with and it might help!

motivation and excuses

I'd like to be more aware of all the ways I quietly oppose my goals.

Here's one: goals that are unreasonable.
Climbing yesterday I was thinking of how important it is to be in the range of reasonable goals, because when the goals are too hard, self talk goes sour.

Here's #2: setting good goals, but not rehearsing them and preparing for them. I showed up at the gym with an empty gym bag. DUHHHH. Good thing they rent equipment.

Hi there! Don't have many tips for late night snacking/grazing. Except I keep a lot of 100 cal snacks which help keep my portions in check. Another late night snack is pineapple and cottage cheese. Hope that helps!

    Welcome to SP!
Starting with reasonable goals is excellent advice! When you reach them you can always set a new goal.

Tracking your progress on SP will also help keep you focused on those goals. Best of luck!
