round and round we go

Wednesday, January 06, 2010

Life is a wheel. Fashion is a wheel. Tides and economic cycles go round. I guess I am drawing threads to the many things in life that come back.

I am coming back to spark people....finding a little more balance in point tracking instead of blowing hours on the computer chasing points.

I am a little more balanced in getting the cardio spread throughout the week.

I guess the wheel is not so bad! Have a great day everyone!

clothes shopping with my mother

Saturday, December 26, 2009

Had a not so proud moment today when I sulked from a comment from my mother. I put down the jacket (instead of buying it anyway) that I knew was cute because she said that it did not "make me look skinny". I could have anticipated that we would disagree and steel myself to not personalize the remark. Instead I disappointed myself with a childish reaction.

My mother is always going to speak her mind. When am I going to accept that?

it is hard to hear a comment from a loved one that is unexpected - and even tho you reacted in a way that you are not happy with, you could have reacted worse. you didn't say something wrong or buy something that when you got home you would regret. continue to take each day at a time and soon she will only be able to say how great everything looks on you - you are an inspiration! really!

surprises in the city

Tuesday, December 22, 2009

I am visiting the Second City of Chicago, and the first city of hospitality. I went to the apple store and they fixed my laptop no charge. I went to the malls and laughed with the clerks, even when I took a headlong spill in some slick slides at the Rack. When I left this town, I had reached a level of frustration with mean, hurried people. Had they reached a frustration level with me too?

When it's not working, then it its time to try something else. After a year and a half away, I'm recharged from small town life where cows and moose outnumber people. I'm also happy to go back home with this insight and without an attitude.

It's been many years, but I loved living in Chicago. So much to do. It's a great place for the young.
Now I too am enjoying a slower setting, though the cities spill over this way more and more every year. So many city dwellers want their chunk of the country but then expect all the amenities of the city, ha.

NH has a snow day!

Wednesday, December 09, 2009

Well that is a gross exaggeration... but students are being let out early all across the northern part of the state. My snow shoes are peaking out from the gear shelf I now keep in my living room. It's time for a snoopy dance in the powder before it turns to sleet.

The other half of me wants to go shopping or eat croutons.

What's it going to be?

So I have to know what did you do? Did you snowshoe or did you eat croutons?
I hope the snow shoes won! emoticon

My snowshoes are calling me, too. And if it keeps up snowing I'll get to use them sooner than I thought!! Yay!!
