I avoided an argument with Mom today, but taking a firm stand, setting boundaries and not backing down. As a result my sisters and I had another excellent day of combined work, laughter, sharing personal information.
We cut down two mature chestnut trees, over 6 hours, taking frequent breaks, encouraging each other. The oldest of the three shared that she had just begun dating for the first time in 40 years. Wow. The formula seems to be not letting my mom stir trouble to the point we are all drawn in. That is not to say we each arent capable of it, but none of us particularly like arguing.
I imagine there will be more arguments, but I hope we get better at solving the conflicts that underlie the words. So no more stirring the pot mom and splitting us into factions, we've got your number. We called it a benevolent gynecocracy.
