riding in the "Ford Pinto" of sleep

Saturday, June 01, 2013

Sleep is that golden chain that ties health and our bodies together. Thomas Dekker

You put your money and valuables in a purse, why not guard your sleep the same way? Why not treat sleep like money?

First rule of saving is: pay yourself first. Otherwise your tank will run out early.

When times got heard in the past, I went to starbucks. I didn't address my weight or sleep apnea and kept up the pace of a 20 yr old in 30s body, 40s body until I found the line had been crossed.

So you cannot look and feel like a million bucks if you are riding in the Ford Pinto of sleep. Something is bound to crash and go BOOM.

Here is the good news. If evil doesnt sleep, we let it get good and run down, and then we can kick it's butt!!! That's the plan.

Lookout Saruman! We are napping for you!

So, what's the plan? There are going to be tough days. So do I eat a Reese's or take a nap?

The choice is so simple!

Good things come at their own pace. Using a mini goal seems to be tempering the urge to push harder, and be less healthy. I am focused on my return to onederland and that is good enough for now.

I do a daily goal...take it one day at a time...reward myself for making the daily goal and know that each day adds up! Good job and keep it up!

I am cleaning up the mess the plumber made and loving the new location of my cooking stove.

The kitchen flows and it is a treat to clean my sink and counters and floors. I am blessed.

making progress without deprivation

Saturday, May 25, 2013

I loved TIME2BLOOM4ME's blog today. It gave me so many ways to measure progress besides the 16 pounds I have lost since February.

I eat scarce amounts of mucus producing foods and lots of foods that eliminate it. I eat TNF bananas. I practice the practice of happy people.

It really does make a difference to be focused on health. I dont feel like Im in a program so much as not wandering in a fog. Intentional eating means putting some effort into choosing healthy foods.

The difference between now and last winter was during my last contract, I fed when hungry, but planned very little. Next contract starting in two weeks, It can go two ways......

I am excited for the opportunity to do this one better.

Planning is definitely the key. If I know what I'm going to eat, I eat healthy. If I randomly grab something, it can go either way. Luckily, I'm making more healthy choices even when it's random. I have no junk food in my house, but I need to have more choices for healthy foods. Sometimes I have a craving for a certain texture and nothing to fill the need. It's a learning process.

I just wrote down your sentence "intentional eating means putting some effort into choosing healthy foods." I really like the way you said that.

I've been on a roll for about a week now, and each morning I'm noticing that having my meals planned out and making a conscious decision not to stray from the plan is what's making me feel so good.

I wish you success when your new contract starts, good luck with planning our healthy meals!

I agree , what a difference in how I feel too when I choose Healthy Foods - No Junk Period_ I too curve the Mucus and positive thinking even when things are not going well in Life always carry me through . Staying away from the Fight to Flight mode really makes a difference with the Hypothalamus that controls many functions in our bodies - Good Blog - Enjoy your Weekend !! emoticon
