Accident

Saturday, July 12, 2014

I have talked about an accident having happened at our corner and have a couple pictures to share. All parties involved are okay. I stood with the lady in the car as she did have pain and sent her via ambulance to be checked out. This is half the emergency equipment that came to the scene and you are seeing some of the other half of our backyard.

The tree seen on the corner is in our backyard and so glad it was there as the truck could have gotten far enough into the yard to hit the house.

The car and truck will not be going anywhere ever again!

I had just come around this corner with my DIL from an appointment. So glad we were home about 10 minutes before. The pictures were taken from our upper patio by our 9 y/o granddaughter. I was too busy out with the car driver.
Thought I would share our excitement of the week. Thanks for stopping by!!

Glad everyone was ok! How was the tree? If its yours or they did any more damage to your yard you can get reimbursed from them. Great photos by your granddaughter!!

So glad that you are all OK! What a close call with the timing, and so glad that tree was there to stop the truck! What a gorgeous backyard, looks pretty large for being in town! Talented grand daughter! She takes great pictures, maybe she would like to be a news photographer? Glad you were there to help the lady in the car...... emoticon emoticon

Glad everyone is okay, but don't you wonder about drivers sometimes...I find myself being distracted now and then and so glad that it's never led to a problem. I worry about my Mom at 92 still driving because she gets so impatient and I don't think always uses the best judgement. Nice trees and yard, by the way!! emoticon

Wow, very happy that everyone was okay Eileen and that they didn't come crashing into your house!!! We had a crash across the street from our house last year. An elderly gentleman lost control of the car, and hit into a tree and died instantly....... It was horrible. Glad it was a much better outcome by you!

Have a blessed Sunday!

Making up for lost time?

Thursday, June 05, 2014

For a few months now, I have been chatting about what we have been doing and I will post a picture. Or where we have traveled and I will post a picture. Or other things and I never “get around” to posting pictures. As we traveled up from our winter home, I had my camera but the cable was packed away so again, no pictures!! So I am going to try to do a “short” blog of the things I chatted about. And to be sure, those that aren’t interested, that’s okay. You don’t have to try to follow my rambles!!

The picture below is of our home in MN and the snowy winter of 2014. The pile of snow is half the size of the one on the left, not in the picture. This is the reason we enjoy on winters in TX.

Now for what we enjoyed at Christmas this year instead of the above. Winter Texans for sure!!

Just a little difference in temps. in the same season. This brings me to our travels up from the Rio Grande Valley in TX. We chose to take our time and pull our camper to our first engagement of spring. So we parked our temporary home (picture later) in Weeping Waters, NE and met up with my brother & family. The graduate here is the youngest nephew to graduate from high school. The white cord is for the highest in honors. He is going on to Aeronautic college. Wants to work with rockets. We were able to spend about a week.

And off we go again, traveling to the town where I grew up in NW Iowa. This campground is a favorite of ours and they are enlarging it again as 62 sites plus cabins isn't enough room!! You can see why. This is our temporary "on the road" home. We are parked by the camp hosts and a tornado shelter was going to be placed the next day right behind us. It was a big project but this is what they look like' (3 placed in the park).

They came in on semi trailers, 3 sections with one section per semi!! That was 9 semis that entered with these. We spent 2 weeks here relaxing and celebrating Memorial Day at the cemetery where my family is. It's an annual trek for us.
Then home so that we could get to our youngest granddaughter's swimming lesson. She is quite the little mermaid!! (whose 7th birthday is today).
The following day we had to get to our oldest (9) granddaughter's gymnastic spectacular. They were rated as it's done in the Olympics. This picture is of her getting ready to somersault off the balance beam.

Not that we are proud grandparents nor are her parents, but she took the Gold medal!! She has been in gymnastics for 8 months only! So she got to stand on the center podium for pictures.
We have another granddaughter who is soon to be 8 and she isn't in sport activities but has decided to learn the violin. So she is taking lessons for the first time this spring. We have not heard her yet but looking forward to it.

As one can see I am a very happy camper, loving the roads but more in love with my sweet granddaughters and their accomplishments. These are pictures of live, laugh, love and be happy!! With God's blessings I am there!! Thank you for taking the time to look and read! You can tell me if you liked this blog and (okay) you can even tell me if you don't!! God bless and thanks for stopping by.

I didn't know you got a manufactured home? So now you have the house, the mfg. home and the RV! Wow! So nice! The tornado shelters will come in handy, especially in Iowa! And the snow...well...lets just say I am glad I am in FL now!!
Those grandchildren of yours are really something else! A soon to be rocket scientist, a gymnast, a swimmer and a violinist! emoticon emoticon

Your blog was great! I love seeing all the pictures. You have some very highly motivated grand daughters and I don't blame you for being proud. I also think you're smart to continue to avoid the harsh winters and go to Texas. We hope to head south for our winters as long as our health holds out too!

I LOVED the pictures! I have often pictured your house in MN from your descriptions and it looks pretty much like I pictured except for the snow, LOL! So glad that I don't have to put up with that anymore, and you don't either!

Really like your little Texas home, it is just the right size and in the right place to be in the winter! The park is very conscientious to supply the tornado shelters! I have never heard of a park having them, in all these years that I have camped (with my parents as a child and now) Truly a thoughtful thing for them to do. Out there in Iowa there is certainly no place to go, as the land is all totally flat.

So glad that your granddaughters have all found an activity they love and are good at! I know that you are proud of them! emoticon

emoticon again for posting the photos, I was really looking forward to seeing them!

Eileen, I just had to laugh at the picture of your house and the snow...two reasons...we "enjoyed" that snow this winter AND...tada...that's the same style house we lived in for many years. We had it built and at the time it was a hugely popular plan. Our youngest son still loves that house. Okay...then I had to chuckle a little at the tornado/storm shelters. Not because I think they're funny (and hats off to the campground owners for thinking ahead and investing in them), but because when I read your blog you described them and then said you spent 2 weeks there and at first I'm thinking,in the storm shelter? Haha!! Loved your pictures and glad you could get some posted up. I'm just as bad and worse. Glad you're home and made it safely! Hope you're enjoying the wonderful weather of the last few days. Hugs, Jeannie

PS: We will definitely plan to meet this winter. We've made plans to rent a place in Alamo Rose for 3 months. That is, unless they sell it in the meantime. emoticon

Forgiveness

Tuesday, June 03, 2014

Forgiveness is the economy of the heart... forgiveness saves
the expense of anger, the cost of hatred, the waste of spirits.
- Hannah More

This is one thing I need to keep in my heart at all times. It seems there is an occasional time it's hard to do!!
Thank you for stopping by and adding your thoughts!! I enjoy reading them all!

That is so true! Foregivness is a big part of what we are doing if it is just forgiving ourselves

Forgiveness means that what you thought your brother/sister did to you never really happened.

Forgiveness directs: if there is something to forgive it can't be forgiven.

Forgiveness is the state of mind where Peace resides and vision takes the place of the eyes searching for guilt.

Forgiveness: when experienced, it encapsulates everything we have ever wanted and it is our only need.

Forgiveness: our only purpose here. Our only function in life.

Forgiveness is so important to remember to do for others we really care about . There are times people say things they wish they hadn't, as we all have our own thoughts and ideas which can bring about an uncomfortable situation. Saying your sorry or hearing someone say it to you, forgiving is important for a healthy relationship be it friend, relative or spouse.

Eileen that is fantastic. A woman in my SS class got mad at me and left the class without telling me why. If I tried to shake her hand later she would turn her head. I shook hands with her children and her husband but for some reason she had something against me.
This went on for four years. The other day at church we almost ran into each other and I told her I wanted to talk to her.
I said if I have offended you in any way please let me know. She said well you always paid attention to my husband and not to me. She was a harsh person and would try to take over the class. I said I am sorry will you forgive me. She said yes.
I said now I have something I have held against you also. She looked surprised and asked what. I said you left my class and never did tell me why. She said will you forgive me
I said yes, of course so after four years that was straightened out.
