For a few months now, I have been chatting about what we have been doing and I will post a picture. Or where we have traveled and I will post a picture. Or other things and I never “get around” to posting pictures. As we traveled up from our winter home, I had my camera but the cable was packed away so again, no pictures!! So I am going to try to do a “short” blog of the things I chatted about. And to be sure, those that aren’t interested, that’s okay. You don’t have to try to follow my rambles!!
The picture below is of our home in MN and the snowy winter of 2014. The pile of snow is half the size of the one on the left, not in the picture. This is the reason we enjoy on winters in TX.
Now for what we enjoyed at Christmas this year instead of the above. Winter Texans for sure!!
Just a little difference in temps. in the same season. This brings me to our travels up from the Rio Grande Valley in TX. We chose to take our time and pull our camper to our first engagement of spring. So we parked our temporary home (picture later) in Weeping Waters, NE and met up with my brother & family. The graduate here is the youngest nephew to graduate from high school. The white cord is for the highest in honors. He is going on to Aeronautic college. Wants to work with rockets. We were able to spend about a week.
And off we go again, traveling to the town where I grew up in NW Iowa. This campground is a favorite of ours and they are enlarging it again as 62 sites plus cabins isn't enough room!! You can see why. This is our temporary "on the road" home. We are parked by the camp hosts and a tornado shelter was going to be placed the next day right behind us. It was a big project but this is what they look like' (3 placed in the park).
They came in on semi trailers, 3 sections with one section per semi!! That was 9 semis that entered with these. We spent 2 weeks here relaxing and celebrating Memorial Day at the cemetery where my family is. It's an annual trek for us.
Then home so that we could get to our youngest granddaughter's swimming lesson. She is quite the little mermaid!! (whose 7th birthday is today).
The following day we had to get to our oldest (9) granddaughter's gymnastic spectacular. They were rated as it's done in the Olympics. This picture is of her getting ready to somersault off the balance beam.
Not that we are proud grandparents nor are her parents, but she took the Gold medal!! She has been in gymnastics for 8 months only! So she got to stand on the center podium for pictures.
We have another granddaughter who is soon to be 8 and she isn't in sport activities but has decided to learn the violin. So she is taking lessons for the first time this spring. We have not heard her yet but looking forward to it.
As one can see I am a very happy camper, loving the roads but more in love with my sweet granddaughters and their accomplishments. These are pictures of live, laugh, love and be happy!! With God's blessings I am there!! Thank you for taking the time to look and read! You can tell me if you liked this blog and (okay) you can even tell me if you don't!! God bless and thanks for stopping by.
