Busy Busy Busy! And I LOVE it!

I wasn't able to spend a lot of time on here yesterday and I fell short of getting my points, but the day care is filling back up and we had 5 new kids start yesterday! WooHoo!! I am so excited to have the house almost full again; it makes the day fly by so much faster.
I have finally gotten into unpacking (since the move last NOVEMBER) all the day care crafts and misc and am getting it all organized so craft and activity time flows so much easier. It has taken me awhile to get enough book shelves and office shelving to get it all organized, but I am getting there and it is really looking awesome. I am so thankful for Thrift Stores!!!
It really amazes me what you can get done when you decide to carry a positive attitude. I have put this off for so long because it just seemed to be an overwhelming task. I hit it a little every day during the week and then really get into on my free weekends and I have accomplished more than I thought possible in such a small amount of time. (I have been in business 14 years and have way more stuff than I thought I did. lol)
Small steps; that's what I need to remember. I am the personality type that wants it all right now and I have a really bad habit of avoiding it if I can't accomplish it in one day. I am getting better and accepting that some things take time, but can be accomplished and there is no need to stress about what is still unfinished when it is time to call it a day. This is a big step for me. My one track mind has kept me stuck more often than not. I am learning that a long project drawn out over several days or even weeks, can be just as satisfying as those projects I start and finish in one day. This really excited me for gardening. I try to get it all done in one day's time and end up burning out, but realize now that I can slow down and enjoy the process of it.
So my message to you all today: SLOW DOWN and enjoy the process of all things in life. It isn't a race! Find the fun in everything you do or have to do. Makes life so much easier to live with! :)

    emoticon That's so true - getting a little done is better than not starting. I tend to think that way sometimes, too, but the weight loss journey has shown me to see the progress. Congratulations on your insight!

    Awesome! You are on a roll, girl! I'm that way too with big projects so I know exactly what you mean. We are all learning. Up before the alarm clock! YaY!

Guess this means I am sleeping better finally. I was up at 6 and tried to make myself go back to bed until my alarm went off at 630, but just laid there and thought about all the stuff I get to do in my day. Decided to get up and take advantage of feeling good and having a few extra minutes of quiet before the house fills up with day care kids and my teenage daughter.
I am excited that eating right and exercising every day is helping me get back to better sleep. I have missed it! I am staying positive even in the face of all the negativity that comes at me day to day and I think it is starting to rub off on the people around me.

I made sure I was surrounded by positive comments last night by running a "test" on here and on facebook; asking people to tell me something positive about their day and I went to bed feeling alive for a change. It really does make a difference on what we focus on!! I woke in a fabulous mood this morning and plan to carry it with me all day long!
Focus on the positives in your life today and share them with as many people as you can to help them remember what is positive in their lives!

While I was walking this morning, I started thinking about how far I have come instead of dwelling on where I am still screwing up, and it has put me in a really good mood all day long.
Why is it that we tend to lean toward the negative? I was reading my book, 100 ways to motivate yourself, by Steve Chandler; chapter 25: Find your inner Einstein. To quote the book; "To experience Einstein's creative level of thinking, all you have to do is habitually use your imagination. This is a difficult recommendation for adults to follow, though, because adults have become accustomed to using their imaginations for only one thing: worrying. Adults visualize worst-case scenarios all day long. All their energy for visualization is channeled into colorful pictures of what they dread.. What they don't comprehend is that worry is a misuse of the imagination."
This is what I thought about during my walk today. It is one of my biggest hurdles to overcome. Staying positive when you are surrounded by people who do nothing but bitch and complain about EVERY SINGLE MINISCULE PROBLEM IN THEIR LIFE. I can start the day in a fantastic mood and by noon all of the negative addicts have sucked the energy out of my mood. I fight it, but rarely win. By evening, I am exhausted and craving the sugar and solitude. And the cycle starts over the following day.
SO! I decided, I am going to counter act these negative nancys and tell them how I feel about their energy sucking attitudes. Today when anyone has started bitching and complaining about anything, I simply ask them what can you tell me that is positive in your day today or in your life. They look at me as though I am absolutely crazy and I just smile. They are not winning today. I will force them to find something to appreciate and be happy about because TODAY, they are not sucking my good mood away from me. And tomorrow they will not win either. I am tired of misusing my imagination because of what other people pile on me daily. They can deal with their own crap and go bitch about it on facebook where everyone else does; cause I am DONE!!! Done letting other people decide how rotten my day will be.
So please..............tell me ONE thing positive in your day today! PLEASE!!! : )

    Very true! Thanks for sharing this! Life can be really hard at times with setbacks and responsibilities but it is really important to focus on the good, positive things that happen with us! I hate to say it because I really enjoy Spark and the people I have met on here but sometimes, by some, it is overwhelmingly negative! It is really discouraging to hear. I think a big part of what I have done is changing my attitude for the positive because what fun is it to be negative all the time?

One positive today for me? Two workouts! A bonus is I stayed within my menu plan!

    awesome blog! I've been thinking on similar lines-as far as how those negative thoughts are nagging at us all the time. For me, one positive things today--well, those negative thoughts were bouncing around in there and I took a bike ride-my first in ages . It was wonderful!

Meal Planning

Ok, this seems like a simple enough task right??!! Well, why in the heck am I struggling so hard with it. My idea was to make up at least 8 weeks of menus that I could rotate through and not get bored with my options, but I just can't seem to put it together. I made a template on the computer, I am working on a list of foods that I like to eat, but when I try to sit down and put it all together on paper, I just draw a blank. How do you guys plan your menus out??!! Do you make notes of where the recipes are? Should I make a little recipe book just for my menus (just not thought of that). Just looking for some advice to get me moving in the right direction. Thanks!

    You have the right idea and it can work! I am telling you the best way to find things is on Pinterest. There are so many good things on there and tons of great ideas! The Spark recipes are great as well. Just find some stuff that you would like to try and pull the trigger! It will be worth it! Good luck!

I think the recipe book just for your menus sounds great. I only really keep my recipes in the Sparkrecipe box...but I eat the same things a lot. I keep a few different options handy for breakfast, a few for lunch but there is a lot of grilled chicken and fresh vegetables for dinner in my house. I only can plan out meals for a few days at a time. I just keep healthy food on hand so that when it is time to eat, my choices are healthy food or healthy food.
