I have been reading Made to crave by Lysa Terkeurst and it has been really good for me. I see how my focus has been on food and getting healthy and skinny. I need to be more focused on obeying God. My motivation needs to be obedience to God and not letting food rule my life.
In one chapter it says we should define our week by obedience and not by the scales. Here are some questions they said to ask yourself every week:
1.Did I overeat this week on any day?
2. Did I move more and exercise regularly?
3. Do I feel lighter than I did at this time last week?
4. Did I eat in secret or out of anger or frustration or boredom?
5.Did I feel that at any time I ran to food instead of to God?
6. Did I think I'd had a successful God pleasing week?
I have put them on an index card and am going to ask myself those questions daily for a while.
