Food dehydrator

Monday, January 13, 2014

I bought a food dehydrator last night! I have been wanting one for a while, I kept checking on craigslist and they were either really cheap but had horrible reviews when I would research them or to expensive for something I was not even sure I would like using. Well I found one for $64.99 with a one year warrenty at bed bath and beyond.

I dehydrated 3 oranges, 2 bananas, and one apple. They came out good for a first try, I think next time I will leave them on maybe another hour. Right now I have a pineapple in the dehydrator. It is making my apartment smell so good. It should be done around 2pm maybe 3pm. Wish me luck on having my pineapple turn out good.

I got one for Christmas and I love fruit leather so far. I am experimenting with zuchini, peas, and green beans to try to find crunchy snacks.

I started making smoothies again!

Yesterday I made an apple and oatmeal smoothie it tasted gross so I threw a little bit of vanilla powder in it to save the taste!

Today for breakfast and a snack I've had smoothies. Grapes, apple, and spinach in those. I really like smoothies cause I am a lazy person. How much better does it get than making 2 meals/snacks at once? emoticon

I have been wanting to make smoothies again for sometime now. The weather has been really cold so I've been putting it off. I got a few free kindle books off amazon yesterday so I can keep a good healthy variety.

Anyways I am so glad I didn't get rid of our Ninja. I got this about two years ago for my birthday and liked it for a week then was totally over having a Ninja. That was probably cause my boyfriend never cleaned it which made it harder for me to clean. hmm.

Also is sunday the day everyone wipes out the grocery store? I went to mine yesterday and it was empty! They only had 3 bundles of organic bananas left so I bought one. And I don't normally buy organic ( I know, I know it's better for you) You cant have wine taste on a beer budget!

It helps with the motivation

I read about dietbet on a sparkpeople thread. I looked into this and it real, legit, not a scam. So I joined on 13/31/13, and the challenge I joined started yesterday emoticon

That site have a high success rate with weightloss too. This is how it works sign up, pick if you want a 4wk challenge or a 6 month challenge. I picked the 4 week option, then lose 4% OF YOUR WEIGHT, I need to lose 7.8 pounds this month in order to win. So everyone who loses 4% of their weight wins and you split the pot. Right now the one I joined has a pot that's right over $8000. I know I wont get anywhere near that amount. The team I picked to join was $35 to join, I would like to take home $50. So that's a $15 profit.

I like money, I am a penny pincher, and I like to save. This bet is going to help me cause I don't want to lose $35 cause I was to lazy.

You can also join up to 3 challenges at once. I might do this next month if I do good this month.

Anyways if you want to know more about that site look into it.

Many people make tons of crazy new years resolutions. Here are mine.
1. Be more positive
2. Stop buying melons and pineapples unless I plan on cutting them up and preparing them right away. ( Just threw out 2 melons and a pineapple. Right over $7 of fruit, ugh!)

That's it.

Also if you have an XboxOne ( the newest xbox) your dog can turn it on just by touching it's nose to the screen. I know, cause my dog did it. emoticon

I had a $100 quit-smoking bet with a couple fellow smokers once, whoever lost their quit first had to pay the other two $50 each. That was the suckiest bet I've ever lost! $35 to keep your discipline for a month sounds pretty reasonable, especially if it literally pays off! Sounds like you're ready to rock it out, so get going! emoticon

I am engaged now! AWESOME!

Thursday, December 26, 2013

I am engaged now!!! My boyfriend proposed on 12/25/13, it was cute he came off shy, LOL. We have a date set 6/4/14, it's our anniversary so that will make it easier to remember.

I am pretty excited about this! When discussing the date I said I want it to be on the day we became a couple but you can pick the year. He said we can do it in 6 months when it's here. Of course I said ok to that!

Now that I have my motivation I am back on spark and sparking.

We are having a court house wedding, so nothing fancy. I just want to feel pretty on MY day.

I will my map my walk app for entering food and logging exercise (its even more simple than spark) but I will use spark for the teams and message boards.

I still had some gut in this picture but this is basically the size I want to get back to.

boyfriend/ puppy

Friday, October 05, 2012

My boyfriend has been going to the doctor and actually trying to get his diabetes under control! He is checking his blood sugars and writting them down. Picking healthier options when he eats... measuring out items so he knows how many carbs or servings hes eating. i love it!

Now that he is getting healthy it makes me feel like im not trying to do stuff on my own, like i feel re-motivated. But a different kind of motivation, not the kind that will fade away in a couple days.

To help him and myself out, tuesday i cleaned out our whole kitchen! He just realized it yesterday and was like where is everything? lol.

We adopted a puppy on 9/12 and brought her home on 9/14. She still gets tired easly but sooon enough she will be able to go on long walks.

Meesha emoticon

I'm happy for you! It will be so much more beneficial (and easier!) for you both when you're both on the same page! I know it's tough in my house because my DH and my 2 sons still insist on carby sides and such. I got an eyeroll just last night when my DH decided to make enchiladas at home. I told him to just leave some filling on the side for me and toss the last 2 tortillas and you'd have thought I RUINED his recipe! *sigh* Oh well.
