46 miles to Melbourne. It's been over a month since I've posted anything. I put up 60 miles in that period and although I could have done better I'm still of the mindset that some is better than none. I have 86 days to put down 259 miles to make it an even 1000 for the year. I will make better progress 2nd and 3rd week in November on the Beach in St Augustine.
A little over a year ago I set a quest for myself. Walk the distance from my house to St Augustine Beach and this morning I finished that quest and I pondered during my walk, "where to next"? Instead of turning around and coming home I think I'll continue on to the Keys.
I set this goal the end of last July after downloading the app MAPMYWALK. I was fascinated with the tracking and record keeping this app provided for me. I decided to take on a goal of walking the distance from my home in Maine to our vacation condo on St Augustine beach in Florida a distance of 1315 miles. As of today I'm 12.17 miles from that goal. I've been taking days off to rest my knees and that seems to have helped.
The arthritis the doc told me about in my knees years ago has finally shown itself the past 3 weeks. I thought my skipping a day between walks and slowing my roll might provide some relief, but alas I'm going to have to live with pain from time to time. I guess my dreams of dancing on broadway are shot. I could get shots, but they are temporary relief. C'est Lavie I have 72 miles to my destination and then I'll have to decide whether to make the trek back or use my stationery bike that is currently serving has a coat rack.
