Another update on my 10 race/year goal

I did a mud run this weekend (it was a SUPER intense 4 miles), bringing my total to 5 races so far= 50% done. I am so glad that I have had my dear friend to motivate me along the way.

In the past week, I have fallen off the wagon of tracking my food, but keeping my fitness goals in line is motivating me to get back with it. Woohoo!

Update on my 10 race/year goal

I am 30% done, and have decreased my race time by almost 2 minutes. My last race, I RAN the whole thing (slow jog really, but I didn't stop the whole time), so I was pretty stoked about that. No way I thought I would be able to without walking at least once, but now I know I can, and I am focused on decreasing my time each race (even if it's only a bit).

Race #4 is Sunday!

New goal

So, my new goal for the year is to complete at least 10 races.

I finished the 5K this weekend and beat my goal by 32 seconds (just barely). At the end of the race, I won a free entry to the San Francisco Marathon in October. Since this race is a big deal, it is now my goal to complete this race (afterall, it's free, and all participants get a Tiffany necklace at the finish line).

I am making this public so that I have to stick to these goals.

Weigh in disappointment...AGAIN

After being excited about getting to my weekly weigh-in, and thinking that I had done such a great job, I got on the scale for disappointment again. UGH!
My goal was 1 pound for the week (knowing that after my April total, anything lower would be good). My results = UP .4 pounds, so back to the EXACT same as 5 weeks ago.

    I'm sorry that your WI wasn't the best, but PLEASE don't let it discourage you. It's normal to experience small weight gains sometimes and it's due to a few reasons: excess salt consumption, water retention, hormones, etc. Continue to work hard and the results will pay off. Trust me emoticon . emoticon emoticon

    I am sooooo with you on this one! I am having the same problem! I know I did everything that I am supposed to do, but I am still not losing on the scale. I have lost inches, but I want to see it on the scale! All we can do is keep pushing and doing what we need to do to be healthy! I am really happy to be here on SP with all these wonderful supportive people!

    dont rely on the scale - its just a number. i agree with the above, and .4 can be pure water weight. its so minimal, please dont let it set you back. i have been busting my butt for the past month and have seen literally not a .1 movement on the scale, however i can see it in my body, so dont rely on the scale. go with how you feel - and hopfeully that is healthy and good :)

    Don't despair! Have you measured inches? If you're working out, you could be losing fat but gaining muscle. 1 lb of muscle is much smaller mass than 1 lb of fat. The scale doesn't reflect the inches you may have lost!

Don't rely on only the scale to measure your goal!

Also, yesterday I weighed 256 and today 253! Weight fluctuates greatly from day to day! So please don't be sad! .4 lb up could just be a fluctuation and you may have lost!

Either way, stick with it! You can and will do this! Stay strong, stay positive, and remember that there will be small setbacks, but persistence pays off! emoticon

Summer heat = New motivation

So, today it is blistering hot out, and all I can think about is how much I want to go straight home after work, and throw on a tank top and shorts (something I have not worn in public in several years). I want to be able to grab a pair of shorts, put them on, enjoy the hot weather, and not feel bad about my body; this is my motivation to stay on track this month.
