My 33rd birthday is coming up on August 20. Back in January I set a goal of losing 33 pounds by my 33rd birthday. I did great at first and lost 15# but then got stuck. I wasn't losing weight but I wasn't gaining either. I felt pretty good about that but then I realize that my birthday is getting a little bit closer so I felt the push to make some more changes and re-dedicate myself to the program. I currently have to lose about 2# per week to meet my goal of 33# by my 33rd birthday (with a trip to Disney World coming up). I may not meet my goal but I am very proud of the progress I have made so far and I will keep working hard

pick up and deliver

My daughter used to love watching Bob the builder. On the show there was this delivery truck named Dodger and his catch phrase was, "Pick up and Deliver, Pick up and Deliver." I have been saying that to myself for days. When I am at work, I walk to the back room to pick up a glass of water and then when my cup is empty, I walk to the bathroom to "make a delivery" and then start the process again. The picking up and delivering has definitely had an impact because the scale this morning showed a 3+ pound weight loss! Woohoo!

Well yesterday was definitely a cheat day! Those 4th of July picnics are just too yummy. I really ate too much BUT I did technically meet my goals. I did eat my servings of F/V (lots of yummy watermelon!) and I drank a ton of water. Today is a new day and I will do better today!

Oh Starbucks, How I love thee, but not today!

I love coffee. I really, really love coffee. I used to work at a coffee shop in college and I think it started my love/need for coffee. And of course I can't drink just plain coffee. No I have to have Caramel Macchiatos, White Chocolate Mochas, and even drip coffee needs to be doctored with a little coconut creamer. It makes me happy just thinking about it. I know that a lot of my extra calories come from coffee so I'm trying to switch things up. I am now taking my coffee with just a little non-fat half and half. It's taking some getting used to so sometimes I do add a little sugar (I'm trying to avoid sugar substitutes). Eventually I think I'll be able to enjoy it without sugar.

My true victory yesterday was when I had to make 2 different trips to the grocery store (Grrrr) and I had to fight myself not to stop at the wonderful Starbucks stand. I tried to rationalize it. I've been good today, I'll just get a small one. BUT I resisted! Twice! Woohoo! And then as I'm walking through the store, I notice that my favorite coconut creamer is on sale this week! Usually when it's one sale I'll buy 3 and stock up but yesterday? I resisted! Double woo-hoo! Will I be able to resist everyday? Probably not. There's a BOGO coupon sitting in my email teasing me right now. But I did resist yesterday and I saved myself 300+ calories! So I'm calling it a victory!

    I've started drinking the plain blonde roast coffee with sugar free caramel added. Then I add my own splenda and a little half and half. To me, it tastes a lot like a caramel macchiato and way less calories!

    I have a great live for just about all Starbucks beverages. I usually stop there in the AM. If I really want a frap I don't deny myself, I add it to my tracker. We have to indulge ourselves every once in awhile.

Day 2

I did pretty good with my goals yesterday. I did drink my 64oz of water yesterday and used the bathroom about 50 times. emoticon I did eat my fruits and vegetables too. Woohoo! I did not remember to pack my lunch for work today. I was too busy watching the movie, Brave, with my 2 kids and 5 of their friends (in a trailer at the campground, that's a lot of energy in a small space!). Totally worth it though! I've decided to hit the grocery store at lunch to buy some supplies to make lunch at the office.

Overall not a bad day yesterday. I was close to my calorie range yesterday (microwave popcorn and birthday cake put me over the edge!) but I did not overindulge like I normally do so I'm going to look at the positives and not dwell on those negatives.
