Looking for guidance!!!!!!!!

Thursday, November 14, 2013

I am really not sure what to do. I need your help.

I have been on a weight loss journey for quite a while. I started with weight watchers a year after my son was born so 13 years ago. I started at a weight of around 220 my ending weight when I left was 183. I maintained my weight for a long time. When I started the spa I weighed in at 192. Still not bad after 13 years. As you all know my main motivation for the spa was to recreate a healthy mind. I am a very strong believer it is all connected you can not have a healthy body without a healthy mind.
The past six months being at the spa I have overcome so much. The power of positive thinking and speaking is truly amazing. I am so much better now "The fog has lifted".

Now back to my weight loss. I believed once I cleared my mind I would begin to lose weight again. That didn't happen. I went for a physical and mentioned my concerns. I was told since I am in menopause not to expect any weight lose until my body says it ready again.
She told me to keep up what im doing to maintain and focus on not gaining.
I am blogging this because the scale was up a pound. I was on track all week. That number pushed me over the edge I NEED TO FIND GREY AGAIN!!!!

I have failed to listen to my doctors advice and Ive joined challenges and feel like I should be able to lose like all of my Spark friends.
Today it has made me feel like a failure. I hate this feeling.

What should I do?

How do I find my grey?

Love you all Julie

I live in the grey. I found you thru one of your bloggers, they are also one of mine. And now I see more of the people that blog to me. If you have gone to weight watcher, you have learned their behaviors to change the bad behavior you have toward foods, right. you have changed up all the bad foods for healthy, ARE HOURNALLING ABOUT 12OO CALORIES A DAY, OR GO INTO THE SPARK DIEBETIC FOODS PART. I THINK THERE IT WILL HELP YOU TO SUCEED. diabetic EATING IS CLEAN, 3 BIG MEALS A,D 3 SMALL. IWHEN I HAD MENOPAUSE I GOT OVER IT BY EATING MORE FISH, LESS BEEF. BUT THE NUTRITIONIST SAID, WHAT REALLY DID IT WAS EATING TOFU IN MYSOUP USUALLY ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE SYMPTOMS, OR JUST BEFORE. if YOU STAY ON 1200 CALORIES, YOU WILL LOSS BETWEEN 1/2 -2 POUNDS A WEEK DEPENDING IF YOU EXERCISE. I KNOW ALOT DEPENDS ON ME NOT DOING ANY PROCEEDED FOODS CAUSE I SWQELL FROM SALT. wATER RETENSION.

You can do this. It is exhausting to do all that you do. It takes a lot of self focus and if you have to fit it in to a busy life then it takes a lot of determination to make sure you get your time! You have to really demand your healthly life! I know that you are trying.
I can tell you honestly that I am also surprised you havent made more progress...but I am not you so I don't know what is going on. I really think you are doing a great job starting from the head and heart this time! I know you are in a better place than when you started. So that is the best scale to see progress on...your outlook and quaility of life are both great!
Look at what you eat, or think about holds you back, if you share this with us we can help. If you need a coach to push you or a hug...we are here!
I dont know very much about your routine or how you use SP. So I don't know what I don't know....which means I don't know how to help you if I don't know what you are struggling with....I was blown away months ago when you told us you hadn't been eating breakfast since you were in middle school?! That was something that really surprised me because we don't skip meals on SP. I know you have made that important change. But remember SP is a program, and really we are reporting data to see what needs to improve and what works.
I just assumed that we are all following the SP program in full. Doing the nutrition trackers and eating only the limits, drinking the water, getting the 7+ hours of sleep, and doing the daily fitness. This is how you get to see your data and learn from it.
I was doing all this as recommended consistantly and it helped me see what worked- for me, it was in the smallest weight loss... but from there you can see how little changes can affect results for the better. Then you have to take it up a notch at each plateau or setback because that is information you are tracking to work with. I know you want to lose, and I am positive you will do it! Be patient! Be strong! Be you!

Brad and Ginger are RIGHT! The doctor has very little insight into how compulsive eaters live and lose weight!
We are on a life long journey, My Love! This is a DAILY commitment with a lot of grey thrown in...because this is LIFE! Unpredictable, uncertain and uncooperative when it comes to our WILL...lolol. Just DO WHAT YOU KNOW TO DO...and the pieces will fall into place...not necessarily according to our timetables...but they will fall EXACTLY when they should...I promise!
I'm right there with you My Darling Julie!
Our job is not to lose weight...our job is to treat ourselves WELL and take care of our hearts. The body melts away (at its own pace) when we do that!

lovelovelove you SO!

I disagree with your doctor. I'm in menopause. I'm not gaining weight. I'm still losing, but slowly. That may be because I'm near my goal weight and/or menopause. DON'T just give up on losing weight! Keep working the program. You may need to change your fitness routine or tweak your nutrition goals. Just don't get discouraged and quit!

I have to tell you, sweetie, some doctors don't have any brains. I am in total disagreement with your doctor telling you not to expect weight loss due to menopause. I am in menopause AND hypothyroid and the last time I went to my endocrinologist she told me, "thyroid patients need to exercise 90 minutes per day to maintain their weight". I just decided not to listen to her and I cut down my carbs and that has made a big difference.
Please don't feel like a failure because you're not, but maybe make some subtle changes in your diet and then hope for the best. I'm sorry you're discouraged!!

Love, Ginger

Sometimes that scale is such a pain in the butt. Hang in there. If you are doing what you are supposed to be doing, it will start cooperating! You are living a healthier lifestyle which is the main goal anyways!

I know the numbers are not helping what you are feeling, but if you are doing what you need to be doing just keep doing it. Don't give up now. The scale is an evil thing, don't let it control you.

Wind Chimes

Tuesday, September 17, 2013

I love wind chimes I have several inside and outside.

Wind chimes exert a powerful influence on the flow of universal energy or Chi. Wind chimes diffuse negative energy and stimulate a positive healing energy.

Power in Placement

The musical tones of a wind chime will also slow down and disperse excess energy.

If you have a long straight path to your door, hang a wind chime near the entry to slow down overzealous guests and strangers. This vibrational break of energy created by the wind chime will evoke cheerfulness and pacify harmful energy.

Wind chimes are great in the garden as they move the positive life force of the living plants and flowers to your other surroundings and into your home.

Hang a small wind chime in a child's room to protect and, as an added bonus, slow down their abundant energy. Hang one in the basement where stagnant conditions can attract negative spiritual energy. Hang a small wind chime above your front door to improve the disposition of all that enter your home. Move a wind chime into an area where illness or injury occurred, harsh words were spoken or harmful actions were taken in order to clear out the negativity.

Mystic Eight

Metal wind chimes work best for invoking protective, healing energy. The mystic knot wind chime has the added benefit of the most powerful symbol of protection: the Three Chi Lin.

In China, the Three Chi Lin is also known as the Chinese unicorn or dragon horse. It was traditionally used to guard and protect the home. The mystic knot, also called the lucky knot or the love knot with its interwoven figure eight, will bestow upon you love, good fortune, luck and health.

Hang your protective wind chime in the northwest sector of your home or property to attract helpful people and friends and, thereby, increase your luck and blessings. The vibrational healing your one small wind chime sends out into our chaotic world will radiate back to you 1000 fold.

I love my windchimes. I have a great sounding one on my front door made out of antique silver flatware. I have one hanging for the cats "to play music" on.
My favorite though is a large harmonic chime I have hanging outside on the back corner of my house just where the head of my bed is.
The other night I was releasing some anger to the Universe in a mental puff of smoke and at just that moment one of the harmonic chimes sounded. With NO wind at all.
There of course is no coincidence :):)

Thanks Julie for your Great blogs!

Love you,

I enjoyed reading this and thought I would share it.

Dragonfly meaning

The dragonfly is generally associated with the symbolic meaning of transformation. Here are common meanings for this animal totem:
•Change and transformation
•Joy, lightness of being
•Symbol of the realm of emotions, invitation to dive deeper into your feeling
•Being on the lookout for illusions and deceits, whether are external or personal
•Connection with nature’s spirits, fairies realms
Dragonfly Meaning
Dragonfly totem wisdom and change

Dragonflies start to grow in water and then move into the air and fly. When this spirit animal shows up in your life you may be called to transform and evolve. Symbol of metamorphosis and transformation, it inspires those who have it as a totem to bring about the changes needed in their lives in order to go to reach their full potential.

When this spirit animal shows up in your life, it’s an indication that it’s time for change. Just like the dragonfly changes colors as it matures, you may be called to live and experience yourself differently. Stay open to the enfoldment of your personal journey.

Dragonfly as power animal and adaptability

The dragonfly is characterized by amazing flight patterns as it appears to be able to change direction swiftly, gliding through the air with no apparent effort. Its lightness inspires those who have the dragonfly as totem to use their ability to be flexible and highly adaptable in any situation.

You can call on the dragonfly power animal when you’re stuck in a situation and need assistance to gain a new perspective. The solution might lay in your ability to adapt and tackle the issue from a different angle.

Lightness and emotional flexibility, two characteristics of the dragonfly spirit animal

By affinity with the dragonfly aerial lightness, those who have this animal as totem can develop the ability to take things lightly even in the darkest moments. Lightness in feelings, lightness in thoughts. The dragonfly spirit animal invites people to keep a light, positive outlook no matter what.

The dragonfly is often seen around water, ponds or on the edge of a river or lake. It symbolizes the affinity with the realm of feelings, water being a powerful symbol for emotions and the unconscious. If the spirit of the dragonfly comes to you, you may be called to explore your emotions in a light and joyful manner.

Dragonfly totem and the search for personal authenticity

The dragonfly is a fascinating animal characterized by the beauty of its colors, the lightness of its wings and its scintillating body. The meaning of this power animal is associated with the symbolism of light, but also illusion.

Those who have the dragonfly as a spirit animal may be encouraged to show their true colors more often and shine. Even if they may be more discreet than let’s say the peacock, they often exert a fascinating influence and arouse curiosity in others.

When the dragonfly shows up in your life, it’s perhaps time to look through illusion. A situation or someone’s intentions are not clear and may be deceiving.

Dragonflies and the connection with the spirits of nature

Dragonflies are powerful allies to connect with the spirit of nature. Their fairy-like quality makes them auspicious spirit animals to work with the power of light and fairy realms.

Animal of wonder, the dragonfly can bring forth the enchanting spirit of our own nature. When you see this spirit animal, allow yourself to open up to the magic of nature and the elements.

Dragonfly symbolism in the world and ancient traditions

Japan made the dragonfly its national emblem. It is a symbol of joy and rebirth. In some Native American traditions, it is also symbol of the departed souls. For the Mayan, the dragonfly is the emblematic animal of the goddess of creativity, Ix Chel. It is said that the dragonfly’s wings and magical songs revived her after she almost got killed.

I want to share this image... a sunny autumn afternoon 3 years ago. my daughter was a senior in high school and the captain of her cross country team...it had 120 girl members and this was the day they hosted the last home meet -the other team had about 30 girls. They lined up at the starting line, 150 girls strong...in a meadow near Lake St. Clair, when hundreds of dragonflies began to fly around them. No one was scared by these beautiful blue irradescent creatures! Your posts shows the symbol of their transformation...the changes they were racing toward as women going out into the world! Thank you for reminding me of this day!

Once a couple of years ago I had a dragonfly land on my arm. Take off and come right back and land in the same spot. 3 TIMES!!!!!

I knew it meant something as it was so unusual and amazing. Now I know.

I assumed it was my totem.

Thank you for sharing!

oh you just sent shivers down my spine.. My DD and I have been enjoying what time we have left in the pool...

for the last three weeks.. we have had a little dragonfly that will visit us and sit on my daughters fingers for up to 15 minutes at a time..

We found one that had visited us for a couple weeks dead.. but the week before we had asked it to send us its family member so we could visit..Michelle wanted pictures but we didn't get them.. WE did however get a new dragonfly that visits.. with the same blue coloring as the last one.. only little different.

With the move and all that is changing in our house.. How fitting..

they were sent to us by the universe and you with this blog to make the meaning clear .. "The dragonfly spirit animal invites people to keep a light, positive outlook no matter what."
that is just what this move needs and what we are trying to do ..

love and light to you my wonderful friend,

I love dragonflies. I used to collect dragonfly motif items. Outside of being a beautiful creature, I have understood them as you have described here: as a totem of transformation. The dragonfly seems like a very appropriate symbol of what goes on here at Spark, don't you think? Thanks for sharing your reading!
