I am in week 31 of my pregnancy and I have gained 22.5 pounds since I found out I was pregnant. In my last blog I had just found out I have gestational diabetes. Since then I have taken a class on how I needed to change my diet and workouts. I have stuck to a strict diet plan and have actually stopped gaining weight and even dropped a couple pounds. I test my blood sugar 4 times a day and test for ketones once a day. It's been a quite an eye opener. This makes me want to eat healthier long after I have my little boy. Having to constantly count my carb choices and remember to test my blood on time is a bit annoying but doable. The hard part is finding out which food choices work best for me. I have found that there's some foods I can technically have but my body doesn't react well to and causes my blood sugars to spike. I have gone back to walking on the treadmill about 30 minutes every day since its too cold to walk outside. In addition to the changes in my diet, I also need to see my doctor weekly instead of biweekly. I need to have additional ultrasounds done at 32 and 37 weeks. Which is weird. With my first pregnancy, it was pretty uneventful. Only had 1 ultrasound done at 20 weeks. With this pregnancy I will have had one done at 12, 20, 32 and 37 weeks. I only pray that the next 9 weeks go smoothly.
