Green- It's Not Just A Color

Wednesday, December 11, 2013

This is the front of a long-sleeved t-shirt that I bought several years ago. The color green brings to mind many things. Here are a few:

Ecology: green represents the environment
Driving: green on the stop light means "go".
Springtime: green means rebirth of what was dormant all winter.
Jewelry: green is emeralds or jade
Colors: green is located between yellow & blue
Christmas: green trees, such as spruce-pine-fir
Spark Activity Tracker: green lights appear motivating you to be active emoticon

And when you put together some of the above...

Think of the green light on your Spark Activity Tracker to motivate you to go walking & reduce vehicle fumes; to admire, especially in the spring, the rebirth of flowers, tree buds & the farmers as they plant & harvest; to make it family time picking out your green Christmas tree; Christmas shopping for a beautiful emerald or jade jewelry for someone special or even 'new' crayons for the children!

This is just a few ramblings... Enjoy your SAT sparkling green lights!!!
Merry Christmas everyone!!

Drinking Water Daily

Tuesday, December 03, 2013

The below is actually my answer to the topic, "Have You Drank 8 Glasses of Water Today?" for the Team Forum, "The Spark Solution (The Official Team)".

Yes I have drank at least 8 glasses of water today! emoticon

However, I am excited today about drinking water. emoticon

Why you ask? Five reasons have me excited about drinking water!

1. Bought a new water bottle
2. Water bottle holds 32 oz
3. Bottom of the water bottle is contoured; fits in my car's drink holder
4. Cost only $2.99 + tax
5. Lid is same green as those little lights on my emoticon

Now seeing those little green lights will not only remind me to walk some more, it will also remind me to drink some more water!!! For me, it's the little things that make me happy!
--------------------------------------
I am inserting a probable conversation between my hubby & me after hubby reads the above about my *new* water bottle.

Hubby: "Another water bottle! Don't you have enough of those already?
Me: "Yes, however, I did send to Goodwill the water bottles I will not use again."
Hubby: " That doesn't mean you need to go out and buy another."
Me: "I didn't go to the store intending on buying another water bottle. You sent me to buy more coffee since it's on sale."
Hubby (with a twinkle in his eye & smile on his face): "Well, you will get your money's worth that's for sure!"
Me (thinking to myself): "It's a good thing it was only $2.99 & not $10.
End of probable conversation.

Actually, my hubby doesn't mind that I periodically buy water bottles. He knows they'll get used since I'm not a soda pop drinker (like him).

Water has always been my mainstay (don't know if this is the right word to use) when I want something to drink. Water is the liquid I drink first thing in the morning upon rising. A glass of water is what is on my dresser in case I'm thirsty during the night. A filled water bottle is, 8 times out of 10, tucked into my purse or bag. My hubby is ALWAYS waiting for me at the back door because, at the last minute, I'm looking for where I left my empty water bottle, then taking time to fill it!

In between all those bottles of water, I do manage to daily drink coffee, ice tea, hot tea or an occasional soda. The coffee is a must after my initial 32 oz of water first thing in the morning! However, the ice tea, hot tea or occasional soda is usually only when I've finished the travel bottle of water & the local water is awful! emoticon

But water is my go-to-rather-have drink! emoticon

Wow, 32 ounces of H2O before coffee?? You are a water nut!!

You have excellent water habits. Don't you find that the more you drink, the more you want? Have you ever counted your typical water intake? I bet it's 100 ounces or more!!

emoticon I too went the expense (cheap) and bought a 32oz bottle. It's great as I know I have to drink 2-full bottles. But find it so much easier to drink water in the hot summer months. Kind of harder in the winter. Especially if you forget the bottle in the car...and it freezes emoticon

Health Update

Thursday, November 28, 2013

I went to doctor appointment on Wednesday afternoon. After looking over the x-ray the doctor said my prosthetic and pelvic were okay. I have bursitis in my left hip. The doctor said to get lots of rest, gave me a couple of shots, some medicine prescriptions and said to stay off the fitness for 3 or 4 days... I feel some better already!

Praise the Lord for answered prayer answered prayers! Thanks to all!

Doctor Appointment

Thursday, November 21, 2013

Well, I went ahead & scheduled an appointment with my ortho doctor/nurse. It's Wednesday, Nov 27 at 11:45 am. The first available appointment was January 8, 2014; however, the doctor & his nurse decided to squeeze me in the day before Thanksgiving. I hate interrupting their Thanksgiving early break, but so glad they felt my pain was important enough to see me before January! Bless their hearts! I will keep you all posted. Say a prayer for me please.
