My team 2011 Brides to be is having a two week challenge!!! Yay! So we started this Monday and we're trying to make sure we stick to our calorie counts and exercise at least 3 times a week, and each week we will weigh in. At the end of the 2 weeks the team with the most points wins...but all in all everyone wins when we stick together to lose!!!
I've already lost a whole pound since getting back on track and that's without my running regimen. I'm really getting into pilates these last two weeks. I've never really liked floor work, but now that it's really cold out this just hits the spot.
Speaking of spot...I've started spot training. So while I'm cleaning the house or washing the dishes, or doing the laundry...I add in squats, or leg adductions, or march in place. Just bumping up my activity that way is helping me stay motivated. While brushing my teeth or drying my hair; I've started dancing to the beat of my own drum! ;)
Christmas is just around the corner and so is meeting my new MIL. I can't wait to meet her, but I would also like to look my best as well. So after Christmas we head to Texas for a week, so we can spend some time with her. I'ver heard good things and bad things about her, but I'm going with a positive attitude and a peace offering for stealing her favorite child! Hopefully she'll like me, and I her. Praying about this everyday that God will get us all through this adventure just fine.

After completing my first marathon in October, I've kinda given up on running altogether. I just dread the thought of running another mile. I may stay in this mindset for a few more months. There at the very end with running 4 times a week and then running long runs on my weekend, I was just burnt out.
Soooo! To counter balance everything I have decided to get my wii back out, and box! I'm doing yoga now, and pilates, and I have a new dvd to keep me motivated. It's called Exhale: Core Fusion Collection, which came with 3 different dvds with 15 complete workouts. I've also bought Gold's Gym Dance Workout for the wii, and hope to incorporate this into my workouts at night. My other form of exercise is taking a 30 minute walk break during my work hours. I walk the full campus block which is 1.74 miles in about 25 minutes. This helps me stay focused at work, but also get an extra workout in. I'm going to try to continue doing this till the weather gets unbearable. Yesterday's walk was pretty cold, but at least the wind wasn't too bad.
I've started tracking everything I eat! And I've even started tracking it before I eat it, to see how I'm doing. If it doesn't fit into my budgeted calories, then I find something that will! I've increased my intake of protein to help keep me full feeling longer, and I've also increased my fiber to help with the same thing. My goal is to be down 3lbs by the New Year. I know I'll have to be careful around Christmas, and New Year's, but I know I can do this. After all I have a wedding dress to fit into in 4 months! ;)
So far I'm feeling good about myself and that's what matters most. Eric and I have planned a half marathon in September next year to keep us motivated, so maybe after the New Year I'll pick up running again. If not I'll pick it back up definitely after we're married in April. Then I'll be less stressed and have more time to do those kinds of things.
Last but not least I can't wait to start seeing some progress on my weight loss. I've set a goal to try my dress on (which is at my parents house right now) in January, so I'd like to be able to fit into it and feel beautiful! ;)

So I'm back up and running long distances. I ran 4 miles Tuesday night and 5 miles Wednesday night! Yipeeeeee!!!! I am so excited to be back out there running my little heart out! ;) No pun intended. I am still on Toprol, but my ultrasound results came back normal...thank the Lord! I am still waiting on my Holter device results to come in. I plan to run 8 or 9 miles on Saturday, and I'm truly thankful to have these opportunities back in my life! I have so many half marathons and full marathons planned for the year and I didn't want to have to give this part of my life up. I'm hoping the Dr. will have my results within the next week and we can have a sitdown chat to discuss what my next move will be. I've been doing some research of my own and am wondering if any of my problems are stemming from a slow active Adrenal gland. I have many of the symptoms of adrenal gland problems...I'm going to talk to her about this at my next appt.
Running is just a true blessing in my life and I'm glad I can continue to do this. As always I rely on Isaiah 40:31"...they will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint."

I went in for an ultrasound of my heart two Fridays ago...still no results back. I also wore an ECG monitor for 24 hours...still nothing back from that either.
Last week they put me on Corgard and I was miserable all week. I still had problems with my heart, and I was hungry all the time. I also turned blue when I ran...not a good experience. I also noticed my feet and hands going numb many times when I ran. I called the Dr. this past Friday and she changed me to Toprol, which so far has helped. I would like to go for a slow and easy 3 miles tonight to test it out. I'm hoping these palpitations will just go away on their own...praying that at least this medication will help me begin running once again. My small prayer group at church is praying for me, and there are many on Sparkpeople praying as well. I know God has got me in His hands. It will work itself out soon...I just know it.
