Walking the cat

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Our old cat(13) loves to chase yarn , so every commercial I walk a round the house and he chases the string, we both are getting exercise plus I get a few laughs.

He looks like a larger version of my Rascal Too. I actually do "walk the cat" or I should say the cat "walks me". She wears her leash and harness whenever we go to PetSmart together.

Not this time of year though as it's way too cold outside.

    What a riot!!! He's a cutie :-D

When I saw the title of your blog, It reminded me of when I would walk our iguana. He'd almost drag me to the nearest tree and I'd have to drag him back down. I haven't thought of him in years!

Great idea! I have two cats....one of which is rather a large boy because he always steals the other's food

That is a great plan. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

My cat is 17 years old and as thin as thin can be. She exercises her vocal chords--wish she'd be content chasing string instead.

He looks like he needs the exercise. Glad you are both getting some. I am sure the laughs are good for you too.

I love cats! They are so much fun! I think you are smart taking the time to play with your pretty cat and getting exercise in at the same time. Go for it!
FREDDY1232 1/20/2010 9:07PM

I love cats too. That looks like one well fed cat. I am sure he could use some exercise. Aren't they wonderful company?
Mine sleeps with me every night. And now that the weather has turned nasty I have to literally kick her out of bed so I can make it. But when good weather comes we only see her about 2 times a day when she comes home to check on us and her food! LOL!

My new adventure

Monday, December 28, 2009

For Christmas I got 3 Leslie Sanone DVD's and I really like them. I prefer to walk outdoors but the weather is nasty and the DVD's are fun. What are your thoughts on exercise DVD's?

I like exercise DVD's, when the weather is crummy or I just need a change-up they work well for me.
My husband got me a much needed heart rate monitor for Christmas, now I just need to figure out how to set it up and use it...... emoticon
HAPPY1049 12/29/2009 12:34PM

    Sounds like a great idea!
MSWEEZER 12/28/2009 7:28PM

I find they help when things get boring. I have several Leslie DVD's, a couple of Jillian Michael DVD's and one Biggest Loser DVD. Leslie is, by far, the easiest I will say but like you said, if it is terrible out and you can't get out, then at least you can focus and get those steps in. You won't be sorry.
DANNYSDUCKIE2 12/28/2009 7:28PM

I like exercise DVD's, I think they make it much more fun to do. I really like dance DVD's or Biggest loser DVD's. Are your walking DVD's I am not familiar of Leslie Sanone tapes. Good luck and keep trying!!!

A Morning Glory

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

I went for a 32 miles bike ride today , had a great time, almost hit a fawn that ran out in front of me, what a surprise. My morning glories were eaten by deer and I didn't expect to get any flowers but its blooming, I hope my moon flowers bloom also.

WOW 32 miles. We didn't even get our bikes out this summer for some reason. And when we did ride, 5-6 would be our limit. Course we didn't do it regularly, and have to haul them to the bike path to ride. emoticon

Guess that is why I decided to just walk for my exercise.
KIVEN70117 8/15/2009 1:23PM

I bet almost hitting that fawn got your adrenaline going!
HARWOOD08 8/12/2009 7:44PM

Good grief! How on earth do you keep your butt from going completely numb? I'm like BAMANANA08, I think I'm doing really good at 2-3 miles. That is amazing! Keep up the good work.
BAMANANA08 8/11/2009 8:39PM

Bless You! I think I do great when I can get in a 2-3 mile bike ride and here you are doing 32 miles. emoticon
