What happened people? I have been letting the end slide! Well that is DONE. I just signed up for another half marathon so here comes training. I would like to loose 10 pounds before it as well so we shall see how this goes! I am up to doing 10 miles on my long runs again so I am pretty close, and the race isn't until the end of January so there is some time. It is hard to let go of your old speeds though, I know I wont be as fast as I was last year, but that is ok (I keep telling myself) it is just getting out the door!
In other news this little curly headed girl is turning two this month! We are having her party next weekend (tea for two theme!) She is developing so quickly, she sings all the words to songs, loves dragons and swimming, and has started pre-school it is crazy!
Here we are after my little (4 mile) run today, snow is still here!

Hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving! We did, and did some major Thanksgivakkah celebrating as well. I just got finished with the Seattle half, it didn't go quite as planned. My last race I ran about 8:30 miles, so this time I was hoping for more like 8 minute miles. But with getting sick a bunch and life in general I ended up running a 1:58 over the half marathon which is more like a 9 minute mile. I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I wish I ran a better race. I walked a lot and just felt crummy, but then again I know I am fit and life is good and I am happy I ran it! (some pics for you)
I have another race in January so I have time for a re-do! I also am trying to get my weight down, I put on about 5 pounds over the last 3 months, I am back down to 3 to loose but I am trying hard to stick to my plan over the holidays so I can run strong in January!
In other news my little girl is turning ONE! in just about 2 weeks. I really can't believe it, this year has just FLOWN by. It has been the best year of my life, hands down and I am looking forward to her party but also feeling a little sad- it is hard to see your baby grow so quickly! We just love her to bits!

Actually it isn't so bad. After 5 months of steady training with no injuries and wondering what all the fuss was about, I managed to give myself bursitis of the hip from my race. I tried to ignore it and even though I told myself I was going to take it super easy the week after the race of course I failed, and ended up making it worse.
So I "grounded" myself and said NO RUNNING for a week. This is KILLER for me. I run almost every day and I am so miserable. I tried hot yoga, I tried some strength cross training, but basically I am "angry eating" and getting pretty dang grumpy. I have tried foam rolling (I don't have one, but I used a friends) and ice packs, but I think it is just going to take time. UGH. The very worst. I can't WAIT to run!
In other news my baby is now 9 months old. This is an odd time for us Mums, 9 months in, and 9 months out (though the out months have gone by 100 times faster, how did that happen?)
It is also an amazing transition over here. She has started taking a few steps and is getting so independent! It is crazy, but also amazing to watch her personality come out more and more. She is so wild!
