kill two birds with one stone or one action.
Gas prices are toooooooooooooooooooo high.
I need to drive to bank, shopping, etc. That takes gas.
I need to exercise.
I could ride my bike to run my errands.

That's what I did today.
I rode to bank. I rode to drop off paperwork. I rode to Staples for some office supplies. I rode home.

Wait a minute. . . . I also made vitamin D too!

    Wish i had that option, but where I live there are no shoulders and riding a bike would be a serious detriment to my health. Keep up the riding though

I like having fun. My husband likes having fun. But I noticed something about us today. My husband laughs and jokes more when he's in public and I laugh and joke more when I am with him. I was raised to believe that there is proper behavior in public and laughing and joking ain't it. What the heck. Time to let go of that silliness.

You're sitting at your desk, at work, minding your own business. Then a plate of fresh chocolate chip cookies appears under your nose. An innocent voice says "have one of my HOMEMADE cookies!"

How do you say no?

NO!!!!! - translation - no way you fool!! Can't you SEE that I am FAT and I am TRYING to loose weight and you're NOT helping me!! Get those @^!$%^^ cookies outta my face.


No thanks! - translation - thanks for offering those delicious cookies to me but I'm gonna pass at this time. We're still friends!

We get soooo mad when people offer us food. We think they're trying to sabotage our efforts to loose weight. But I bet they don't even remember that we're trying to loose weight or that we're gluten intolerant or that we're allergic to nuts. Or whatever!

Let's give each other a break. Let's grant some grace. Just say no thanks with a smile.

Gluten free is not an easy diet to grasp and people forget. Your everyday person on the street just doesnít get it. They donít get what gluten is and that I am NOT allergic but instead intolerant. That means that gluten is poison to my body. I have to take responsibility for everything I put in my mouth. I will not give that responsibility to anyone else.

I do not expect anyone to remember that gluten is poison to my body and I do not get mad if they donít remember. That is not their responsibility.

    If they knew that you could not eat it, do they still ask you if you want one? If so maybe you need to tell them that just like some one who is allergic to peanuts that is the same as you with wheat. Also I have found that most people don't know that flour is made from wheat and it also part of wheat and it cause you problems.

    I agree. A polite "no thanks" without paranoid delusions of sabotage should do the trick. I'd often take the cookie and bring it home for my mom to enjoy.

    Just say "No Thanks" with a smile or adding "Thanks for offering". Maybe they didn't want to offend anyone by not offering one everyone one.

My No Surgical Tummy Tuck

I remember a personal trainer telling me that if I would spend 1 year strengthening my core, along with my weight loss, I might not need a tummy tuck. But I had to work my core, really work it. And I had to commit a year.

So this is my year. I WILL reach my weight goal. I WILL train my core 3x week.

Today was my first core workout in years. I hate core workouts. But I did it. I found a beginning core workout on About.com - printed it an took it to the gym. This G'Ma is serious about reaching my goals.

Oops, better measure my gut.

    awesome! good for you! I used to do 200 different types of crunches/day and I noticed a real difference. I'm building my way back up to that. I use some of Denise Austin's core workouts (on DVD) and some yoga.

How can getting ride of this 5 pounds encourage me soooooooooooooooooo much??? Losing 5 pounds means I am now OVERWEIGHT instead of being obese. Yeah! I like that label. That feels good. Doesn't look very different. But it feels good. I be overweight. It means I'm closer to me goal of NORMAL weight.
