Good Evening?!?

So I have tracked my food for about a week now and I know what I am doing wrong. I am finding all the food in my house and eating it. I know many of you will have a problem with me keeping junk food in the house but I am not sure I will ever plan to change that. I must learn self control, right?

So in the evening I make poor choices. I make poor choices in the day too but the evenings are much worse. It happens right after the kids go down and I put my feet up. My hubby & I curl up to watch some of our saved tv programs. Then he gets up to snack on a few cookies and he is so kind to bring me a few. It would be rude to turn him down, right? Then he will grab a bag of chips from the snack cabinet and I will put my hand in a couple of times and join him. Or was it 20 times? Well It doesn't count if I don't record it on sparkpeople, right?

So I need to get better food in my pantry to select from AND I need to start a hobby during tv night. I am thinking that knitting will be good to pick up again. I also notice that when I log my food daily, my hubby snacks less. Coincidence? I think not!

PS My 2 year old requested that she have carrots and hummus tomorrow. I guess we will go shopping...

    Dedicate yourself to logging in everything that you eat!! I even count ketchup and mustard!! It may not have any worthwhile value, but it makes me accountable and that automatically puts me on track!!

Vacation is over and I am back...or am I really?

So I weighed in after taking off 1/2 of July and all of August. I was up 4 pounds. Not too horrible since I stayed below 250. So I started to log the food. Well I do not even think I lasted 3 days. How do you keep your head in the game when there is no success? I want it to be immediate! oh yes, and easy!

My hubby has been losing weight without even trying. I fake happiness but I am really just jealous.

I was out for most of today and on my doorstep was a package of brownies. Not sure where they came from but I think I counted 10 of them went into my mouth. I love my friends but they are not helping me! Should I break up with them while I try to lose weight? I have not kept it a secret that I am losing but perhaps they forget...

I will be camping this weekend so there is no access to my kind skinny friends...

Vacations and SparkPeople do not go together

So It seems that whenever I go away I do not have to log my food. Since I don't have to log my food then I don't have to weigh in. Since I don't have to weigh in then I don't have to look at my scale. WRONG!

I was away and did not log my food. When I came back I had gained 4 pounds! Of course I can't tell spark people that! Then I tried to get back into logging my food and it lasted about 3 days when I went away again later that week. Since then I have been yo-yoing. Always keeping in mind that I have not quit but sneaking food here and there constantly!

Then I look at my sisters that are loosing weight with me and they are much closer their goal and I try not get frustrated. I try to smile and say supportive things but really I just want to punch them in their face lol.

Well I am going to log my food this week. (Then I will go away again) Stay committed, stay focused and stay hydrated!

Great advice I got this week. I wish I took it. It would have saved me hundreds of calories.

Well down a 1/2 pound and it is good. I have not lost in about 2 weeks so I like it. I did not plan my meals but I have pre planned the next 2 dinners. I have been eating the same breakfasts for a while. I like them so there is not much planning there. Lunches/snacks are tricky. Especially since I need to go grocery shopping.

The night times have been challenging for me. My hubs loves to snack after dinner and I have been losing the will power battle. I might try to change my seat when he gets his snack. That might help. I have also noticed that his pants are looking looser on him. How is that happening? Jealous!

Goal for this week: no eating after dinner! Water, water, water!

  remember, it's not always the scale. it's been a month, have you done your measurements? Even you say you go "over" your allotted calories (whick I KNOW you over estimate anyway) you are making a lifetime change. You know you are eating better than you were a month ago. Don't beat yourself up, actually if you literally try, you'll probably burn off a lot of calories. emoticon Also, I like your idea to do a hike a month. It's a SMART goal. (Simple, measureable, attainable, relevant and timely) emoticon emoticon

Well actually it is more like down up up. Still it is an emotional rollercoaster. I think I need a personal chef and trainer. Too bad I didn't marry one lol!

I drank more water last week. It helped alot with the cravings but not so much at the scale. Going to keep it up but need to make another change...So many changes need to happen. It is so hard to pick just one. I never managed to do a full week of meal planning. I did all my grocery shopping for the week so it should be easy to do. I just need to sit down and do it. I am sure giving every excuse to avoid regular exercise in my life. I just feel so tired all the time. As a stay at home mom I do make sure to get the kids out almost daily. I do have to keep up with them but it does not seem to be enough.

Next week's goal: keep focused and lose weight. Do meal plan During nap time

    Keep up the good work on drinking lots of water - it really will make a difference as time goes on. Hang in there and try to give yourself some sort of little reward for each positive step you take. Little positive steps can add up to big progress before you know it. emoticon
