Wow, now I GET it. Macaroni Grill opened up recently. We love to go for pau hana drinks, etc. For the first time, I've actually looked up the damage of what I eat. Was starving last night so started with the Mozzarella Alla Caprese Salad and chose the Chicken Scaloppine dinner. Skipped cocktails. Skipped bread & olive oil. Still the count is staggering:
Mozzarella alla caprese: 440 cals. 37g fat. 9g carbs. 19g protein
Chix Scaloppine dinner: 1410 cal. 112 g fat. 68 g carbs. 42 g protein
I ate 1840 calories in one mealů worse: 149 g fat?!
Because I was dilligent for 6 out of the 7 days this past week, really not bad: under 1,500 cals per day which really is where my body seems to function best. Fat grams avg: 62 which is higher than where I should be.
Just imagining, though, if:
1) Had thrown a couple of martinis (about 250 cals ea) plus bread/olive oil into that mix?!
2) Had dessert?! Just 1/2 tiramisu = 590 cals and another 42 g fat
3) Did this more than once in a while?!

I am so not a fruit person. Not sure why that may be the case, but it is. I thought I'd try it again since I am on the fastbreak stage and am supposed to eat something fresh daily. OMG, not a good idea--was OK at first then had to force the 2nd half down so I didn't waste.
I guess I was meant to be a vege, lol. The occasional fruit cut into my vegetable salad will have to work for me.

It does bother me when DH gains weight because it usually means that I have gained weight too. I've noticed that we do seem to be a team in fitness/health and on the flip side as well. He's had some serious health problems in the past, mostly stress related, so it's my reminder to take care of our health!!

I really could not have picked a crazier week to recommit, darn it. But it's good for me, right? Work today and fly out tonight for work for the next 2 days. Had a wild morning packing, etc. in effort to get to work on time. Was 1/2 hour late because I forgot my cell phone and had to go back for it. Survived though... and even got in my day 2 of C25K. Breakfast -- 9:40 AM counts, right?
Oh yeah, did the P90X core synergistic video last night. Was SO NOT pretty, but will be! WOOT WOOT!!
