So it has been a longgggg time since I have been on Sparkpeople...a very long time. So let me give you the run down of what is going on. I have moved from NJ to Texas. A huge step that brought a large amount of emotion. I spent most of December packing for the journey and my fiance and I left on January 4, 2010. As soon as we made it down to Texas safely, went to the nearest gym and signed up. The great thing about the gyms in this area, are that they offer personal trainers right off the back so that they can get you in the best shape possible. So far I have been working with a trainer for the past few weeks and I know there is a difference. I have not been on a scale. Decided to leave that in NJ...I may have to purchase a new one in the future. We have also been very strict with our diet. I have may a point to eat 4-6 times a day, smaller meals, and spread the calories out throughout the day. It has been working out pretty well.

I realized that I still need the sparkpeople outlet for that extra push. I missed hearing about all the wonderful achievements that have been going on in the sparkpeople communities. I can honestly say that it helps me get through the day if I have been feeling low and out of touch, per say.

I think that i will stay off the scale for a while and let my clothes do the talking...

  


Week in Review

It has been a pretty crazy week. I have been packing and throwing away stuff since last Sunday...Still not complete and I think I have at least another week of getting rid of things we will not need when we move.

I did push a little more with my exercise. I had a rough start to the beginning of the month so I decided to make it up this week and made sure that I was able to work out as much as possible. I plan on keeping this routine up until I leave for Texas. Ahhhh. Only 3 more weeks until we leave! It's crazy!

So here are the plans for the week:

Cardio Max: level 1 12/13 - 12/19
Abs: 3 sets / 25 reps a day
Strength : 3x a week
Drink all water
Finish packing

Moving January 4...

So my fiance and I are moving. I have been a little crazy right now with packing, giving notice at work, etc. I am pretty scared right now because I have never lived outside of NJ...haha. I gained a pound last week due to the sheer fact that my head is up my but. I made a commitment to myself to exercise for the month of December but have not even moved off the couch. My bad. Am I going to quit? No. So today I went and bought a work out DVD and I plan on kicking my butt into gear this afternoon. No more excuses. That's it!

    Awesome! We can definitely do this! I did the same thing last week - hardly any activity and ate a lot of stuff. But I am recommitted and will make up for it this week! I can't wait to see how great we do!

    Stress can really affect us more than we know! Atleast you are aware of it and knowing is half the battle! Good luck with the move and I hope all goes well. As for workout DVDs, this will sound corny but I really like Party off the pounds with Richard Simmons! emoticon

Ready for December

I must say that November was a win-lose situation for me. I made sure that I portioned out all of my meals during the week and let myself have a free day on the weekend. So far this has worked and I have not gone too overboard with my calories. I have seen the scale drop which has made me happy. I know that my focus on eating healthier and watching my portions has made a difference. Now I need to focus more on my exercise. I need to push myself to make time to exercise.

So my first goal for December is to make sure that I exercise daily. I am going to try to make it a priority above everything else. I will keep everyone posted on my progress.

My next goal for December is to make a video blog. I have been watching the sparkpeople vblogs and I must say, they are very inspiring! I commend all the spark members who open their lives up each day!!!

My third goal is to train for a 5K. It is strictly going to be at home or in the gym. I hope to participate in a charitable 5K by the spring. I have downloaded a C25K and plan on tracking my progress daily!!!

I would like to break the weeks down to monitor my goals. So here we go!

    Sounds great! The Bridal Bootcamp Sparkteam is actually starting a new challenge for December which may be perfect for you! You get points for doing healthy things like working out or staying within your calorie range - and at the end who ever has the most points becomes our member of the month! Thanksgiving woes

Okay, so it is almost Thanksgiving and usually the day to overindulge with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy. This year, my fiance and I will be going out to dinner with our parents. I plan on making a list of items I can eat so that I will not completely over do it. I'm going to try to stay away from the overly buttered, salted, and sugary foods. I will ask if I can have my vegetables without the butter or salt. I believe that I can eat a Thanksgiving meal without going crazy!

The day after thanksgiving is going to be Shopping Madness! I will be inline at 4:30 in the morning along with everyone else for the great deals! Crazy I know but it will be fun!

    Good luck with the shopping! 4:30 would be sleeping in to me lol My mom and I are always up and out by 3. you are right, very crazy, but then I am always back at home asleep by 9 or so:)
