ONe Month with Sparkpeople

Today makes one month with Sparkpeople. I like the ease of using the site. The tools that are availble for nutrition and fitness tracking are outstanding and unlike anything I have used before. I have lost a few pounds--but that is not my focus now. I have made some remarkable changes to how I look at food becauseof the tracking tool. I can see the food components that I eat right after each meal and I can check foods out before I prepare them for the day to try to get my " nutrition pie" right for my body. emoticon I am so glad that I found this site. emoticon

    Welcome to SparkPeople! I also celebrated my one month with SparkPeople too since I started on Sept. 11 we must be in the same class! I too love the food tracker and I really feel it's helping me to understand about the food I eat. I am glad you lost a few pounds. You know how I use the food tracker? I set out a week's meal plan in advance so I can make a much more concise grocery list. It really helps to save money and time with having all my food pre-planned. emoticon emoticon

    I totally agree with how the SP tracking feature has changed so much for me and thinking about food preparation. I'd never really thought I'd be able to figure out how to make my nutrition based on things like protein, fats, etc. -- and not just focus on the calories.
This website has been a great discovery!

    Welcome to SP! As you progress, you will find innovative ways to use the tracker. For example, you can plan your favorite recipes, plotting it once, and then not having to individualize each ingredient every time. Or if you have a favorite weekend breakfast, like I do, you can group a bunch of things together, give it a name, and then it's readily available to you as one single entry.

Congrats on your seven-pound loss! That's a great start! emoticon
