Rescued...again

Friday, January 25, 2013

“We will find grace to help us when we need it most.” Heb 4:16 NLT. Today, my errands in the next town took longer than I thought and I ran out of all of my nutritious snacks that I had packed for the trip. As I traveled down the local highway passing the local restaurants, I could smell the delicious aroma of food—most were food that I do not routinely eat. Mind you, I do not have a list of foods that I have eliminated from my diet--that does not work for me, I choose when I will eat them. The temptation was getting to me and I was just about to turn into the parking lot of the “Tasty Spoon” when a car blocked my entrance. There in my car, waiting for the lane to clear again, I realized that I cannot leave God out of my loop for a moment of my journey to a better life. As I focused on Him and prayed, my hunger was forgotten and I drove home to prepare a nutritious meal. God freely gives His blessing to each of us in His own way and His own timing. Today, I was rescued…again. emoticon emoticon

1 Cor 10:13 - No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it.

I think you just proved God's point in that Scripture. :)

Because of circumstances out of my control yesterday, I wasn't going to be able to get home to get a meal before the next thing, and I ended up at Wendy's for a Double Stack. It's a do-able sandwich, if I have enough room for it. And I did, thankfully.

God knows just the right time and place to place a obstacle in our path to moving forward so he can take control. i am glad you listened, prayed and left the place that you were not supposed to be at yesterday for some reason.
Great choice to listen and quickly obey.

Let Us Be Honest

Thursday, January 24, 2013

Let us be honest with ourselves; we all have shortcoming and on most days it is difficult for us to address them. It is humbling to admit that we have old habits—which make up who we are--practices or patterns that need to be focused on, eliminated or replaced. Sometimes we build our identities around our shortcoming instead of our attributes. Taking one day at a time, we can change what we need to change and build a better life for ourselves. We have what we need inside of us. "I have no greater joy than this: to hear that my children are walking in the truth." 3 John 4 HCSB. Take inventory, there is a lot more good in each of us than we realize. emoticon emoticon

This brings me back to focus on my walk today with God. Am I in the right frame of mind and am I doing things in my personal, professional and spiritual life to bring about lasting change for the better?
You are awesome and thank you for inspiring me today to look at my shortcomings and then list the blessings that might come if i change the shortcomings and make them strengths with God's help

Fringe Benefits

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." -- Confucius
My journey with Spark People has not been an easy one, but it has been most life changing. I have received many fringe benefits in the form of valuable information, sensational recipes, friends from all over the world and fantastic reports from my physician. I have never stayed with a healthy eating program this long; but Spark People works. The inspiration has been wonderful and so real and I must say that I am enjoying the fellowship of all of my Spark Friends. “The Lord is with me. I will not be afraid….” Psalm 118:5-6 NLV. I know that the Lord led me here and I am thankful.

Protect Our Treasure

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

“We have this treasure in earthen vessels.” 2Co 4:7 NKJV. God has given us talents and He wants us to use them to remove the shackles of failure, overeating, laziness, anxiety or low self-esteem to put them to work to live a joyous life to glorify Him by helping others. Protect the vessel for each of us have a rich treasure inside of us.

Monday's Attitude

Monday, January 21, 2013

Wow, today is Monday and it is a start of a brand new week of tracking our nutrition, fitness and our goals for our brand new me. How we start our Monday depends on our attitude. Charles R. Swindoll said ” I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with us…we are in charge of our attitudes”. Wow, that is humbling and so true, we control how we approach each day—especially Monday—through our attitude. emoticon emoticon emoticonSo today, I choose to smile when I track my nutrition, smile when I track my exercise and smile that I have began a journey to a brand new me. Psalm 68:19 “Honor and thanks be to the Lord, Who carries our heavy loads day by day. He is the God Who saves us”. Thank God, I have the 90% covered today.
