My Cheerleader

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

There is a song (I do not know the name of the song writer) that says, “Encourage Yourself, Speak over Yourself” that lets us know that we have to be our best cheerleader. God sees potential in people, even flawed people, and we need to see the success that we are praying for in our life when we pray. We must believe in ourselves and encourage ourselves to hang in there. emoticon emoticon How do we encourage ourselves? Speak over ourselves, Believe in what we are doing, do the work to achieve what we want to achieve and trust God to give us what we need. Do not give up--Don’t do it, Give God a chance. Proverbs 3:6(NCV) “Remember the LORD in all you do, and he will give you success”. “Encourage Yourself, Speak over Yourself” emoticon

We are not Alone

Monday, January 14, 2013

We are not alone on our journey. emoticon There are things we can give up effortlessly, and other things that will take every ounce of grace that our Lord can give us to let it go. It’s especially hard to give up something we are attached to and that we see ourselves reflected in, like our unhealthy relationship with food. emoticon True strength comes from admitting our weakness and asking for the mercy of God to strengthen us. “Teach me to do your will, for you are my God.” Ps 143:10 NIV . When God promises us something and it doesn’t happen right away, it’s easy to get impatient and start doubting Him. But when we’ve gone as far as we can with our overeating and we are ready to see God’s promise of a more bountiful life, we must be willing to let our overeating go and seek a closer relationship with Him to learn His will for our lives. emoticon emoticon

"I cried to the Lord in my trouble, and He answered me and put me in a good place”(Psalm 118:5 NLV). God gives us special times in order that we might find joy and that we might find Him-a good place. He has created a glorious world, a good place to enjoy life and to meet the Lord. He has created wonderful people in this world such as Spark People and all of you that encourage all of us each day to continue on our journey to a healthy lifestyle of nourishing eating practices and vigorous fitness programs to achieve our goals. Enjoy your good place. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

The Chocolate That Got Away

Saturday, January 12, 2013

“Your thoughts…are the source of true life.” Pr 4:23 CEV I am really and truly trying to cut back on my sugar and chocolate is one of my most favorite foods, so today I did not put the scrumptious chocolate dessert on my plate. I thought about my goals of eating healthy and I thought about how I would feel after I had stuffed my mouth with the delicious chocolate, so today I did not eat it. God had blessed me with self-control and today I used it. I will still think about and eat sweets—especially chocolate, however I will choose what is best for me one dessert at a time, one day at a time and one small portion at a time. The person God blesses must “exercise self-control, live wisely, and have a good reputation” (1Ti 3:2 NLT). emoticon emoticon emoticon

I hear you! I love chocolate as well! My goal is not to eliminate it totally, but have it in moderation. Like you stated, it's all about self-control!

We can do it! emoticon

Fresh Brewed Strategy

Friday, January 11, 2013

Just as we go down to the kitchen to turn the coffee or tea pot on to get our first cup of the day, planning healthy meals and exercise routines for the day—every day at the start of the day is important. emoticon Historically, good things happen early in the morning. Remember “the early bird catches the worm”. emoticon Every day we need a plan of action to keep us on track. An employee luncheon today, what is our approach? It is raining and I cannot walk or run outside, what maneuver will I use? emoticonWithout a plan, we can lose ground; with a plan we will be successful and we will start each day with a fresh brewed strategy for success. Mark 1:35(NLV)”In the morning before the sun was up, Jesus went to a place where He could be alone. He prayed there”. Prayer is a wonderful part of our fresh brewed strategy. emoticon
