Back on track!

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Down a pound - yay!! I'm just focusing on the each .5 increment on the scale. No getting overwhelmed or frustrated. Just staying focused. My nutrition has been MUCH more on track. A few items I could have passed on, but overall, a healthy week! I've been too busy to keep the tracked updated with food throughout the day, but I'm being very mindful.

Although the ankle is still a mess, the bike is going OK and lifting is still fine! Last night I was at the shelter (volunteering) so it was a night off from exercise, but right back into the routine tonight. 146.0, here I come! :-)

So proud of you! I am following suit and getting back on track this month as well!!!
RILEYEM 1/15/2010 9:01PM

I like to focus on half a pound at a time too. As long as I keep seeing the number go down I am happy. Even if the scale only says .2, I'm good. Because those .2's add up quickly.

I've been outta the loop as you know...what happened to your ankle?

Ticker Honesty

Friday, January 08, 2010

I've been in a bit of denial over the # on the scale. I finally decided it was time to own up to the pounds I have put on over the last few months.
147.5
Gulp.

I feel OK here, but I truly feel better at 140 so I need to get back there. I have sprained my ankle which is tough, but I really need to accept that and work around it. I've done my ST the last 2 days and I need to keep that up. I'm going to try a Pilates video tomorrow and just skip any parts that hurt it (which hopefully won't be many). I need to be better with my nutrition.

Time to move that ticker back in the right direction!

I had a sprained ankle for the last year and it sucks! I kept re-spraining it. Nothing doctor's did or PT made it better so I just quit and I've been resting it for a while. How's yours doing?
LEANVIXEN 1/15/2010 9:35AM

The hardest part is admitting that you weigh that number. As soon as you do, you can start the change. Congrats on making that first big step!
BDLITE 1/13/2010 10:34AM

Oh spraining your ankle really sucks. I did a year or two ago, right in the midst of getting into running for once. It's recovered now but I wear a brace on it when I work out.
Good luck! Your still an inspiration to me!
HEATHBAR35 1/12/2010 1:19PM

Oh good, I'm glad I'm not the only one who'll leave the ticker at the 'better' weight and have to talk myself into changing it haha Do what you can, you don't want to overdo and hurt your ankle worse. You could also do some cardio, such as kickboxing, while sitting on a stability ball, same with ST'ing if it hurts to put too much pressure on it, that way you can keep going and not injure yourself worse. Take care and I hope you feel better soon! (and WTG on owning up to yourself that you were sliding) emoticon
JOSIETOBES 1/10/2010 10:23AM

What you did is always the hardest...with me, it starts with the clothes getting snug, snugger...uh oh! I also as someone said, changed the ticker, and then started to make changes. You can do it!
816JIMMIE 1/9/2010 2:01PM

I am very proud of you- Nobody knows but you and u r wha counts!

Here to a healthy recovery
RAVON27 1/9/2010 12:32PM

Sorry to hear about your ankle. Hope it feels better soon! If my ankle was hurting I would probably sit in bed all day and watch the DIY network emoticon Great job on staying motivated!
REVAMP_I 1/9/2010 5:30AM

I hope your ankle feels better soon - i know you can get to your goal x

RICHNAKM 1/8/2010 9:43PM

I did the same thing for many weeks. I found that when I finally changed that darn thing to my actual weight is when I started to do something about it! Glad you changed it now get your butt moving and watch what you eat, pronto! emoticon

Hey Thats Great? Let me ask you a quetion What is a Blog?

This quote really hit home for me...

Monday, November 23, 2009

“It’s not that some people have willpower and some don’t. It’s that some people are ready to change and others are not.”
¯James Gordon

Thanks to my spark friend RAVON27 for the above. I really needed to be reminded of this right now. I always say I have no willpower, which would mean it's not really my fault - it's just something I wasn't blessed with, but really I think that's just and excuse and somehow I never recognized that.

RAVON27 11/23/2009 10:45AM

Off to a good "start"

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

Perhaps re-start is a better word. ;-)

Went over a bit on calories yesterday, but was happy overall with my eating. My husband and I went for a run after work (way too dark, I thought the street lights would do better than they did!), and I went to bed at a much better time than I have been lately. I feel like a broken record sometimes with my new waves of determination, but I'm truly hoping this time is the one! :-)

There's a lot to be said for waves of determination!
LOGDIVA 10/27/2009 8:00PM

Good for you...restarting is a step in the right direction....well done...tough for many to even crawl back on the wagon once they've bounced off...one day at a time.
LMCGEEN 10/27/2009 12:45PM

    Good Work!
MCKENZIECO 10/27/2009 11:54AM

keep an optimistic attitude and you can do anything emoticon
RAVON27 10/27/2009 11:50AM

It's better to have waves of determination than no determination at all emoticon
