WHERE have I been?

So in May, I kind of took a break from exercising because it got busy, my birthday was in there and I just didn't feel like exercising! But I did walk my 10,000 steps most every day. Then came June and I was getting my daughter ready to go to France with school, and getting ready for us to go on an extended vacation. But I maintained and stayed within the same 2 pounds. Okay, FF to July, I have been on vacation eating my way through NY, NJ, and MA and the scale is showing it! EEEEKKKK!

So, it's Monday, my kids and niece are still sleeping, my sister is at work and I am back on SparkPeople. Must get back in the groove! When I started my weight loss journey in October, I started walking that day. Three miles everyday!!! I hadn't missed a day until January. Then got back on the horse and didn't miss another day until May. But when you stop...It's not a good thing. So let me get into the workout videos and get it started!!!!

Good for you getting back on track! It's so easy to get in the habit of not exercising; sometimes hard to get back to it. Good for you getting up and going again! emoticon emoticon

A better day

Today was a better day. Got my steps in, did my bootcamp workouts, all 4 and rode the bike. I've just been feeling unmotivated. It's my birthday month, I want to celebrate. Last year I was too sick to really enjoy it. So, I kind of want to really celebrate. That means cake and cocktails and dinners and stuff! LOL
My son is better today. It was a bad fall yesterday. His friends were all worried about him. He fell on the top of his head, his neck bent to one side and he fell to his back. He was really in pain. But he slept well and was able to wake up fine. His class had a field trip and we went today and ran around. The only thing he didn't do was throw the tomahawk. He knew it would hurt too much. At lunch he was sitting next to his friend, Bonnie, and got up and said, "Watch this!" I screamed, "NO!!!" It wasn't anything big, but those were the same words he used before he ran to the bar.
Not much else to say tonight. Thanks for the encouragement.

  I'm so glad to hear that your son is doing OK after his fall. Hopefully he will be fully recovered after a weekend of rest and recuperation.

Another crazy day

Yesterday was one of those run, run, run days. And when I was home, I was working, working, working. Today was different. My oldest had the day off from school so we took her brother to school and then went to morning Mass. Afterwards we went to this fabulous cupcake place and bought cupcakes and then went home. Even though I had plenty of time to make up my workouts from yesterday from my boot camps, I just was not motivated to do so. THEN, I got a call from my son's school and he had fallen off the monkey bars on his head and his back and I needed to come get him. He was in some great pain but had stopped crying by the time we got there. He is 10. I didn't take him to the ER as we already have one ER visit this year and I really don't want another, and his doctor even said to watch him and take him if things changed or to bring him in to the office the next morning. He seems to be doing okay. Still in some pain and hurts to move quickly or in jerky movements, but getting better and no other worrisome symptoms.
So this afternoon, at about 4, I finally made up my two workouts from yesterday and did my two workouts from today. I just could not get motivated to walk or ride the exercise bike. Tomorrow, we will be going on a field trip with my son's class to Fort Uncompaghre in Delta, Colorado. We will be outside all day and walking ALOT, so I know I will get my steps in. By the way, yesterday, I actually had 9600 steps in, but just couldn't do those other 400.
Well, tomorrow will be a better day, right? emoticon

Busy day today. Slept in and then did my workouts for both challenges and we went for a family bike ride. It's been at least 5 years since I've ridden my bike. Felt good and it was a beautiful day for it. Maybe even a little warm. With all the exercise I have been doing since October, it's almost funny how out of shape I still am. We tried to do a steeper hill and I was so out of breath. We took Jeff's brother, Stevie. Stevie is developmentally challenged. He is probably about my Christopher's age in mentality, which is 10. Maybe not even that advanced, so the two of them have fun playing together.
I never thought I would want to blog, because I am not even a journal keeper, but sometimes I have more to say than I can fit in a status. I still need to finish my 10,000 steps, so before it gets TOO late, I had better get on that treadmill. Oh, forgot to mention: my neighbor passed in December and this weekend they held an estate sale. She had an old, simple exercise bike for sale which I purchased for $20. Best money I have spent. It gives me some more cardio and will exercise my muscles differently. YAY! emoticon

    Exercise bike for twenty bucks - very cool! I looked for one and can't find a good used one. And I don't want the super-spaceship-hyperdrive megamachine, either. I hope you get lots of use out of it!
And nothing better than a bike ride in nice weather. Sounds like a fine day all around.

This has been a ridiculously busy week. Yesterday was the first day in a long time that I didn't complete my goals. I ran and ran and ran, in the car, and worked on the computer. I did my two 28 day Boot Camp workouts and the two workouts from Swing into Spring today. And I am going to walk on the treadmill now. It has been so busy that I haven't gotten much sleep either. I didn't even sub this week. But laundry and dishes are done so all the things the kids and dh, and church (the computer work) need are taken care of, but not much for me. And my dh was out of town from Tuesday until last night. The kids and I ate well, got homework done and were fine, but not exercising yesterday really made me feel undone. I do have a bunch of stuff to do before I pick up the kids from school. But first, taking care of me! On to the treadmill! emoticon
