2nd goal down!

Today I weighted in at 204LB emoticon I have reached my 2nd small goal of 25LB's. I am thinking maybe by summer I will be able to go out in public in a bathing suit that does not look like my grandma's. LOL. But now is were I am going to need to step it up with my fitness, and add more weights and strength training.

Weight fluctuations

So this morning I weighed in at 206 emoticon , but I joined this biggest loser competition at work and Fridays are the weigh in day, and there is always a fluctuation of 2 to 3 pounds. I try not to eat before the weigh in on Friday. I am not sure if that is a mistake or a benefit. I know some of the weight is my clothes, but could I be retaining water because I have not drank or eaten anything?

    Watch your salt intake, and processed foods. Otherwise, drink water with lemon and it might help!

    Most everyone weighs in first thing in the morning before they've eaten or drank anything, so, no, I wouldn't think it to be water retention. If you are eating right and within your calorie range, the scale will reflect that at some pointůmaybe not when you want it to though. Good luck with your competition!

Step into spring

Good morning!

It has been almost a month since my last blog and a lot has happened around here. I recently found out that I might have a 9 month old grand daughter ( will find out hopefully today), that will make 2 grankids at my young age of 43 (lol). We are gearing up for our big BBQ or smoke-a-que as I like to call it, when we bring out the smokers and have all our freinds join us for a get together. I cant call it party but its like a celebration of spring.

I finally got my vegetable garden planted and is doing pretty good.( havent killed anything yet). I am growing cherry tomatoes, onions, yellow zuchini, red bell peppers, and straweberries. I sure hope something turns out because Arizona is a tough cookie when it comes to gardens.

I am so proud of my weight loss acomplishments so far! I am down 22 pounds since Jan 21st when I really started focusind on my health. I am more active than ever and I am a happier person. I think before when I tried to lose weight I was in such a rush that I failed myself, but this is no race and I did not gain the weight overnight. Slow but steady wins the race they say!

I might not be ready to put on that bikini this summer but maybe shorts will be an option :-)

Slow but steady

So over the past 5 weeks I have lost a total of 16 pounds and am so happy that I am learning how to track my calories and lose the weight healthy instead of all those fad diets you see out there. I admit that I did buy the Lipozene a few months ago (total fad diet pill) I tried it for 1 week in December and just felt horrible. I still have 55 pounds to go but I know that I can so this. It will be slow but steady. I know I will hit a few bumps in the road but that tells me that I either need to change my excercise up or that I need to focus on what food is making me stall. great weekend

Good morning!

I had an absolute fantastic weekend with the family and good friends. Saturday was my frieds birthday and we all went cosmic bowling and I had a blast even though I lost all the games :-). Oh well it wasn't a competition. Sunday I got some housework done and them me and the hubby went to the movies. We saw Monument Men. This was an Awesome movie! After the movie we went over to my daughter and her boyfriends house (they just moved into the house this weekend). Overall it was a great weekend and I managed to stay in my calorie range and even lost 2 pounds (it was all the bowling! LOL). But the weekends always tend to go to fast.
