Back On Track

Wednesday, August 07, 2013

AHAHA SO GUESS WHAT, I am back on track and I'm feeling and doing better than ever.
Sure I'm under a lot of pressure between college stuff and family stuff and job stuff...but my friend, Laura, and I are going to the YMCA together and we've set it up to be a regular thing! I've stopped drinking soda pop and am on water, powerade, and skim milk only--well, Tim Horton's Iced Cap's are a treat, but only for when I can fit it into my calorie budget.

And tomorrow the guy that I like is coming to help me move stuff into the apartment from our storage unit and I'm so excited to see him! Wow I'm using a lot of exclamation points, I'm sorry.

WE ARE DOING THIS! WE ARE MAKING THIS HAPPEN!!

Be nice to your servers.

Today I got to hang out with my best friend (in the state), Laura, and we went swimming in our complex's pool for almost 3 hours--which by the way has worn me out completely. After that we had to go from Pickerington all the way past downtown Columbus to drop off my high school computer (I went to an online school and had a school provided computer, I didn't get to turn it in at graduation because I didn't get to go to graduation with us moving from Columbus to Pick Town). After searching and searching for the ECOT building, we finally found it and returned the equipment only to find ourselves near starving.

So we went to the best available option nearby: Tim Horton's. Laura got vegetarian fair and I got a Turkey Bacon Club sandwich (my favorite), but it took FOREVER to get up to the window to pay for it. Apparently the car who was in front of us had ordered 12 bagels but only wanted 2. The lady at the window was fuming, but gave Laura and I a discount for having to wait so long. I tipped that lady a $5 because she earned it for putting up with that dude.

All in all, I think I'm sun burnt and gross and my hair is a mess, but today is not as much a failure as I think it could have been.

That was very nice of you to do for the lady. But, you also need to remember there are times at driveups that the people working inside do not listen and get the orders wrong and then try and blame it on the customer. I have seen them playing around and not listening and then jumping on the customer when they are told they made a mistake. emoticon

Free to be you and me...

Thursday, July 04, 2013

But if my mother's actions spoke louder than her words they would say "Free to be you but only if you fit my standards!" Now, don't get me wrong, I love my mother, I just don't love the things that have happened between us or how she treats me and the rest of our family. I don't love the fact that when she was here at our apartment, and I offered to cook dinner (because money is tight and I have healthy meals planned out) she wanted to order in. This is the second day in a row that we've had to eat out because of our mother. I managed to get the healthiest things on the menu, but it was still a huge debt to our budget. I don't think she fully understands that we CAN NOT eat out this often. We can't do it with trying to eat healthy, or with our finances.

The problem lies in the fact that no one can tell my mother no...

Try telling her fine you will go out as long as she is paying. If she is not willing to pay let her know that you want to stay home and cook. Be the first to stand up to her and it will make you feel so much better and freer. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Red, White, and Boom (more like Red, White, and FOOD)

Wednesday, July 03, 2013

So tonight was downtown Columbus' Red White and Boom fireworks display, and since my mom lives really close to where it was held, we all watched the fireworks from her nursing home. The only problem with that (aside from not getting home until 11:30 pm) was that there was all kinds of junk food, and my mother ordered fast food for all of us. She bought subs from this local pizza place, and I LOVE their food so much like, I can't even describe how much I love their food. It took SO much effort just to eat half of the sub and drink a diet soda pop (because there was no water D: ).

And even after that she still fed me a Rice Krispy treat because she wanted to make sure we all "got something sweet". I swear, I think she WANTS me to stay fat...
