Just a quickie...
The kids are swimming and I am waiting for them to finish. Now that they are older, I do not have to swim with them! :-)
I would rather swim at lane swim, otherwise when I swim with the kids I get cold!

anyway I just wanted to say thanks to those who gave me birthday goodies and wishes! Some of you on FB.

I also wanted to post a pic of the kittens. They are growing so fast, but still utterly adorable!

On my birthday DH took me out for lunch, the kids were in day camp so it felt like old times when we were young and free. :-)

I had a peach and pecan salad with beets and goats cheese! It was delicious! I added some grilled chicken.

Hubby is getting me a VEGETTI for my birthday when they come back in to stock at "Bed , bath and beyond" happy! ( See Lis`blog for how it makes noodles out of zucchini etc)

I have not written a blog in a while and thought I probably should.
So much has happened since Mother `s day. ( That was the last blog!)

My mother in law is now living here in Canada. She moved over permanently at the end of May.

I have quit my cleaning job as of July 31 and look forward to having my Saturdays back so that I can concentrate on family time. It means a loss in income, but I am sending out my resume in order to make up the money in writing jobs! ( Keep your fingers crossed for me and if you are a prayer person, pray!)

I am still without a car which has its challenges, especially in the Summer when the kids are home and want to go places.

A couple of weeks ago my hard drive not only crashed, but DIED! So there is another challenge I am dealing with. I am using a netbook at the moment, but it is what my son uses for school and it is a google netbook so it does not support windows operating systems.
That poses a whole lot of trouble too!

I am working around all these issues!

ON the exercise front, this week I will be biking at least 30 minutes a day to get DD to and from the bus pick up point for camp. If not cycing then walking. :-)

My doctor wants me to go for physio to sort out my pain in my legs from hip flex-or stuff caused by misalignment of the hips, but we do not have any health benefits as yet. We are working on that! Once we get benefits and I get the physio to correct things then I will be allowed to do more exercise.

The book I wrote to go with the photography exhibit is NOW available and contains the 10 biographies from this year`s recipients.

We have been doing a lot of de-cluttering and spring cleaning around the house! So I have been a busy bee!

I have not been eating on The Plan, as such, but I know which foods to avoid to manage the bloat. I think my weight is stable, but I would like to get back on THE PLAN to lose another 10 pounds. I just did not want to do it in a hurry...from experience I know that if I lose too much weight in one chunk then my body retaliates and puts it back on and then some....So I wanted to stabilize before losing the next few pounds.

Maybe once things calm down around here I can concentrate on getting back on THE PLAN and getting to my next goal! ( come on ladies, talk me into it! ;-))

    Thanks for sharing the photo. emoticon It does sound like you are always busy. But giving up the cleaning job should help with more family time. I am hopeful that you will find a job that suits you. I am sorry about your pain. I hope that it is gone soon. emoticon

    Like you say if you avoid the reactive food, you should be able to get by until you can really focus. Don't forget to get some rest, busy bee.

alleviated. Sorry to hear about your computer. Sending
prayers for you to find another job. It is good that your
MIL has moved to Canada. sounds like you have a very
busy life now that you have no car and have the kids to
transport to places. I don't own a car and sometimes
relying on public transport can have its moments.

    You have been very busy! Enjoy having the kids home for the summer and having MIL live close by - kids love their grannies :)
Sorry to hear about your hip/leg problems - hope you can something sorted out soon so you heal.
I hear you on being without are car - mine is only just fixed after being stored for over a year, I am happy to have my ancient (17 year old) Jeep back, even without the rearview mirror LOL
Getting back on the Plan is not easy with the kids home - watching them having summer treats is hard when you are being strict with yourself. Relax a little and do the best you can in the meantime. You can always declare one day a week a Plan day - I know how mush you like day 2 dinner :)

    Wow, you HAVE been a busy bee! Good that your MIL is closer...I know from experience how difficult it can be to deal with parental health issues from afar. Sorry about the hip pain - have you tried a chiropractor? Just a thought.

Mother's day meal

Mother's day is a day this is both wonderful and difficult all at the same time! I miss my mom!

So I tried to focus on my own little family and enjoy the day with them. Mother's day will never be the same now that my mom has passed on, but I try not to let it dampen the mood.

My kids both made me hand made cards and my daughter bought me a YA fiction book I was anxious to read! ( thoughtful!)

We went to church in the morning and the kids had made a video talking about moms. It was so cute! They showed everyone and it came with lots of laughter!

After church we went to a restaurant for lunch with our good friends.
I had the curry shrimp bowl, without the shrimp! I had chicken instead.
The sauce was coconut based and loads of veggies! Delicious!

This is what it looked like:

Once I dug in, it looked like this! AND I ate it with chopsticks, right down to the last bite!

Other than that, had a quiet day play with kitties, reading my new book. Relaxing!

First bike ride of the season

Yesterday my Daughter and I rode our bikes to the library and pet store!
My butt is sore today! Not used to it! LOL

It was a rare sunny day. It rained all of last week! Sigh!

This is the mischievous one!

Cuteness overload!

I worked on assignment on Sat and it went well, the time flew by!

Tomorrow I pitch the stories to the lady who will decide to accept them or not. Then I write them and they will go online! fingers crossed!

Yesterday I did a photo shoot for my Portraits of Giving Author photo for this year's event.
I don't think I can post them here until later on, the photographer is keeping it all under wraps until the grand opening on June 19th.

Tomorrow my daughter is getting her hair cut here at home. A friend of mine specializes in cutting kids hair and she is coming to our home!

loving my kittens and this week I am getting more sleep! They are now on to the hard food and don't need me to feed them every 4 hours anymore! I feel human again!

    That's great news about being able to go for a bike ride
after such a long winter. Good luck with getting your writing
accepted. I am sure you will get the OK. Your kittens are
growing fast and thy are really adorable. We are finally getting
some cooler weather. Low of 17 and high of 24 is still good.

    It's been SNOWING here... Ugh! Thie spring has been just ridiculous! I haven't been out on my bike yet, the trails are pretty much still a mess! Need some SUN to clean this all up!!!

Day 2 of the Reboot saw me lose a pound!

When I weighed in this morning after doing my rendition of Day 2 I was down a pound.

Instead of carrot soup I had a chicken salad.

I needed the protein.

Today is day 3 and I had my breakfast ( Flax granola and blueberreies)

I must admit that I have half a serving, I just can't eat a whole cup of granola!

Today for lunch I had left over rice and veggies.

Tonight I will have a salad.

Tomorrow will be day 4 of The Plan friendly meals!

Look at my parrot cat!

She loves sitting on my shoulder!

And the naughty boy who are his sister's food this morning when I was not looking got scolded. I can't get his photo to upload! Sigh!

On to day 4 tomorrow !

    I had a shake for breakfast and a small can of salmon
with cottage cheese on a crispbread for lunch.
I also can only stomach a half serving of cereal. Makes
me sleepy after Ieat it. Love the kitty. Have a great May.

    I agree with you and Dee - a ReBoot allows you to modify a bit based on the knowledge you've gained about yourself! I don't eat a whole cup of flax granola either - I normally do between a third and a half cup.
