Cold weather makes you walk more faster!

The cold weather in the Midwest made today's walk a bit intolerable. Found myself and my son walking a bit faster! We took our dog out because shepherds love this kind of weather. We were out walking our dog because we were chilled. It did make walk go faster and increased our walk time. So were know now what we are made of. emoticon emoticon Happy Spring!

exercising while away for work

I have been away for work. Hotel and work location about a half mile. I have walking eaoch way provided it is not raining. I am trying to be more active. I have been using my fitbit to calculate my steps. This is a big deal for me to do this because I don't do stuff like this to get active and also travel for work. It helps clear mind while taking in the scenery. emoticon

    Now ... get thee down to the hotel fitness room and use the treadmill and weights too! I find that to be a most useful feature of most hotels. emoticon

11000 steps plus

I did not want to exercise tonight. I even took short 15min nap beforehand. I walked on the treadmill. My 11yr old son and I planned to be active 2 nights a week. Tonight I started on treadmill with the intent of 30mins/ 1mile. Then I alternated with 8lb hand weight in each arm. I even played with incline upto 6% grade. I eventually felt enough energy to jog to Black - Eyed Peas I Gotta Feeling and Ac/Dc All Night long. Slow, steady, 75minutes later, 300 calories burned, 2.50 miles! emoticon
