Time to get back on track.

Well, here we are, another year. Boy, the holidays can knock you for a loop weight-wise with all the goodies and fantastic meals. I didn't necessarily stay on my eating plan though I tried to keep nutrition in mind most of the time. I gained a few pounds back but nothing major and I don't feel guilty. I'll just get back on track and i'll be where I was in no time. I'm looking forward to eating healthier again (I realized a few times over the holidays that some of my choices wreaked havoc with my digestive system, not fun). This will be good. I will feel good. Time to get started.

I talked with a good friend of mine who needs to lose some weight and get healthy. He has considerable weight to lose and felt it was a lost cause. I told him how I've lost my weight and kept it off (so far) using Spark People's nutrition tracker. I asked him to give it an honest try for a week or two and see if it could help him. Well, here it is a month later and he has lost 21 pounds. I can't tell you how happy he is. He's been eating the right things and is able to see how it affects him, his weight, his digestive problems, his movements. He is thrilled. He keeps saying "This is crazy!". He never thought he could lose weight by eating more. His food choices have become healthier and automatic. He is so proud of himself. So am I!

Well, it's November. This has been a long haul, but I have to admit it. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I've reinvented my eating habits and love it. Spark People has been my savior. Using the nutrition tracker and being able to see what I'm eating each day has really helped the most. I am excited about finding new ways to eat the healthy foods I love. Learning ways to still eat things I love, but healthy versions of them (like meat loaf and mashed potatoes that have become turkey meatloaf and mashed cauliflower). My whole family is in on it now. Everyone is at a healthy weight and we all love it. We feel good! I'm so proud of everyone!

it's been months now and I'm still eating pretty healthy. Spark People has definitely helped with their motivational and nutritional articles. I love the new recipes I've tried too.
