50 Pounds Gone…What Have I Learned About Myself?

50 Pounds Gone…What Have Learned About Myself?

I recently met a HUGE weight loss goal…I lost 50 lbs. and I feel great, I have so much more energy. I started out with small goals to keep myself motivated along the way. Then I just kept going and pushing myself to the next landmark. Sure there were times that I wanted to give up. There were times that I did not feel that I had the strength to go on. There were times were I felt that I would never lose weight. There were so many times that I could have and almost did give up, but I then found the strength to go on.

I learned that you can’t just give up if you want to see real lasting results. I had some great friends that are on the same journey and at times needed some motivation and encouragement. Other times they would be there to give motivation and encouragement to me when I needed it. I have met some really great new friends through this process. I have connected better with people that I never had anything in common with before.

Through this journey I have learned so much about myself. First of all, I have learned that I can get in shape and live a healthy lifestyle. I CAN do this, even though at times I didn’t think that it was possible. Secondly, I learned that the mind is a powerful thing; I can do whatever I put my mind to. I can exercise even though I don’t want to, I can run a 5k, and I can push myself to limits beyond what I ever thought or imagined that I could do. Thirdly, now that I know I CAN do it I really truly CAN reach my goals. Not only that but I WILL reach my goals.

There are many other great things that I have learned about myself through this weight loss journey and I am sure there are many more things that I will discover about myself as I continue to work hard. I still have a ways to go but I can see the finish line, sure it is a ways off but I CAN see it. Since I have met such a big weight loss goal I now have to set up some new goals for myself. So that begins the next chapter of my weight loss journey, but that is for another blog.

Smokin’ Body Summer Challenge Goals

Smokin’ Body Summer Challenge Goals

My goals for this challenge are:
1) To get down to 160 lbs. by the end of August
2) To continue making healthy choices
3) To train for and run a 5k race
4) To get some exercise everyday

Since I have been on my weight loss journey since the end of December I was not sure what kind of goals to make for this challenge. I already have made and accomplished so many of the goals that I have set for myself. I have lost 50 lbs. since I started exercising and making changes in my diet. I have come so far already, but I still have a ways to go. I joined this challenge to help motivate me to keep going and to help reach my ultimate weight loss goal.
