Today, 1/1/13, I am starting a 9 day detox. No sugar, meat, white potatoes, bread, soft drinks, caffine (well, I am going to allow myself 1 cup of coffee in the morning). I will get plenty of water, fresh fruits and veggies, nuts (in moderation) & a limited amount of dairy. I tried this detox a few weeks ago with the goal of 5 days and I made it! I noticed that during these 5 days i slept better & after the first couple of days I felt better. It is not my intention to ban these foods from my diet forever. But I will limit them and/or use sparingly. I am hoping that after achieving 9 days I will look at my food differently and make wiser decisions. I will try to post daily how my day went. The purpose in this blog is to hold myself accountable and share my experience. Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year!
I am at the start of my 3rd day. Boy am I tired. Sugar and meat are so tempting. Not sure if I'll make it the full 9 days. I may have to modify and add lean white meat back in. I don't really miss the soft drinks, so that is a plus.And I haven't been on the scales in 3 days. Let's see if I can make it the full month!
End of day4! Still no sugar, bread, soft drinks! I did add 3 oz of chicken, but only once a day. Weekends are always the hardest. Don't know how this weekend will go, but I will do my best to make healthy choices. I am craving chocolate really bad. On the bright side I am sleeping like a baby :) I have not be exercising regularly. Will start Zumba, again, next week.
