Wow, I've been gone for 66 days. Whew! So much has happened but I'm not even sure where to begin....
Work has been crazy since, oh, I started with the company over a year ago. It's a good crazy though so I'm happy. I'm also teaching at the college-level too. At my undergraduate alma mater as well. Things are going so well that they have invited me to teach two classes in the fall.
My health has been ok but I did go to the doc for some issues. Nothing major but I wanted to make sure everything was ok my end. Turns out, everything is FANTASTIC and that I'm good to go. I'm still moving and using my FitBit to help me with everything (you guys HAVE to get one of these). I lost 5 pounds in January and didn't even realize it because I avoided the scale like the plague.
Marriage is going good. We are almost at the one year mark. I can't believe how fast time is going by. We are still learning each other but things are good. We have our honeymoon scheduled and booked so I can't wait!
Other than that, things are good. Just trying to get back into the swing of things over here

Hi everyone! I don't know about you but I had a fantastic Christmas! Not only did I keep those 3 pounds off, but I have managed to not gain any despite my lackluster efforts of working out. I have stuck to having only one plate of food during meals (no seconds) and overloading on water. Hubby and I are thinking about juicing starting next week for a week to see how it goes. I feel like I need to detox and purge my system.
I'm also starting a 21 day challenge with a personal trainer that I adore. Should go pretty well.
I'm still making a comittment to moving 20-30 minutes a day and plan to come up with some attainable goals for 2014.

I think I celebrated the success of my 3 pound weight loss a little too quickly because i feel like I ate nothing but junk all weekend. Let's recap:
Friday night - High fiber spaghetti.
Saturday - I cooked brunch and invited my parents over. We had salmon croquettes, biscuits (I only had one), sausage ( I didn't have any), grits and juice. I let myself indulge in the salmon but I didn't really eat much else. I did, however, have about 4 7 oz cups of juice. Lunch that afternoon was....some leftover pico de gallo with tortilla chips and leftover spaghetti I cooked the night before. i munched all night on various things (chips, an apple, almonds). I just kept munching! I had leftover spaghetti for dinner too.
Sunday - didn't eat breakfast at all. Lunch was an order of corn nuggets and 2 peach muffins with a strawberry lemondae I didnt mean to eat that but I was out running errands and remembered that I didn't eat and needed something on my stomach. Dinner was baked chicken with sauteed zucchini and squash and corn, with a half of cup of white rice.
I munched throughout the night on pico de gallo (I'm hooked on pico de gallo right now. At least it's healthy) whenever I got hungry so that I wouldn't eat any junk food.
I didnt' work out at all since I try to take the weekends off to rest but I did manage to get to bed early.

This weekend has wrapped up with a mini success. I have lost 3 pounds. I got the scale the other day and my weight was fluctuating between a few ounces, depending on the time of day. That was when I realized that I've lost almost 3 pounds.
How did I do it? Simple: moderate exercise (kickboxing, yoga, dancing around the house, raking the yard), some light strengths work (used my body weight), enough rest, no/low carbs, increased protein and no seconds! Just that simple.
I've been keeping my exercise to 15-20 minutes at a time, with the exception of the raking the leaves - that took an hour!. Next week I want to start back on the treadmill and do strength work twice a week. I'm going to limit my workout to 20 minutes.
God bless my wonderful husband who texts me reminders for breakfast, am snack, lunch and pm snack every single day. He even checks to see if I've had any water. Isn't he awesome?
Anyway, it's Friday so tonight is my rest night. I may start Saturday at the gym but I plan to spend the weekend resting up.
