"Happy 54th Birthday" Chris.

You were born at 10:10 on a Sunday morning and were a whopping 7' 14" and was 21" long and was the most beautiful baby, ever.
Today you are a mother of two wonderful children who call me Nana.
You also are a wife, owner of a goat farm and cranberry bogs.
You have accomplished much in your life with hard work and determination.
I am so very proud of you.

Well today is day #5 and I think that I'm doing fairly well.
I blogged my 1st day of the challenge and today I will do a synopsis of the last 4 days.

Day#2: 1 c. oatmeal, strawberries, coffee, water.
Did a 15 minute walk w/CD. Steps for the day…7617

Day#3: 1c. raisin bran, coffee, water
Did 20 minutes w/Leslie Sansone including warm up. Steps for the day…8466

Day#4: yogurt w/strawberries, coffee, water
Did warm up, 1 mile, cool down w/Leslie Steps for the day…9040
I let my guard down and ate 2/3 can cashews. Shame on me.

Day#5: IHOP breakfast w/a friend…2 French toast w/pat of butter & 2 Tbl. syrup,
2 sausages, coffee.
Did warm up & walked a mile w/Leslie. So far…5720 steps.

I know I'm doing well with this challenge but I need to do better with the rest of the day's eating habits. This is hump day and now 5 days to go for me to do better.

Keep up the good work, but stay away from the cashews. They taste great and it's too hard to eat just one. LOL! emoticon

It's been awhile since I last blogged. I really didn't have much to say so I waited until there was something relevant to tell you.

I started the "RISEANDSHINE" challenge this morning and I am so happy with myself. I've done 15 minutes of walking [with my exercise CD] plus walked to and from my mailbox and have eaten a healthy breakfast and lunch. This is remarkable for me after so many months of mindless eating.
This challenge is for 10 days and I know I will be able to accomplish this goal.
Supper will be simple and easy and healthy.

OK, one day down and nine to go!!

Congrats on starting your challenge! That's great news!
And congrats on becoming more conscious about your eating. Once I figured that one out, it made things a whole lot easier for me.
Keep you the great work!

Thank you to all who wished be a Happy Birthday. Believe me when I say that it was a very happy day.
My sister and her partner are here to visit from Berlin, my daughter and her family came by with a delicious cake and the funniest card, and I got to see & speak with my son in Missouri via my sister's Ipad.
Plus I received cards from friends that I worked with in the hospital and my friends that are near me now.
I am blessed.

I'm back again to tell you a story about me and a hornet.
Last Sunday I was out watering the tomato plants and happened to see some hornets going in and out of a crack near my side door. So, I would squirt them with my hose, they would leave, and come back again to the crack near my door. I continued for awhile with the hornet squirting and lo & behold one hornet proceeded to fly just above my hair and then the little so & so stung me next to my right eye. Within hours the eyelid and the area around my eye became swollen and red. Cool comps and Aleve for me for the rest of the week.
My eye is better, there is still a bit of swelling after a week but I learned a valuable lesson...Don't squirt hornets!! Ever!!

Please set up traps using soda pop or ground meat. The nests will just grow bigger if you don't do anything to reduce their population. Good luck.
