Mini Goal List Update for September 2014

Very much looking forward to October. This month saw some huge goals met.

First off - I got a new job in my desired field - I begin my new position as a copy cataloger on October 15th. I am so excited. However it will also give me the opportunity to face a fear. Part of my job will involve climbing ladders (really they are portable open stairs with handrails). As of late I have built up a fear of walking down stairs - partially caused by a previous bout of planters fascitis where it caused me pain to walk up and down stairs. However my foot has been healed for two years now so the stair/ladder phobia needs to go and I need to retrain my body and brain to be able to walk up and down stairs normally again.

I was so excited about the new job that I pushed myself as was able to run for 1 minute on the treadmill something I was not thinking I would be able to do before Nov. or Dec. Joining the Y was the best thing I have done this year. It has helped me in so many different ways.

I'm getting closer but I still have more goals to complete. I need to get my quarter marathon training going. I have been pushing back my quarter marathon walks and now it's time to get working if I am going to complete them before the end of the year. I basically need to do one per month in order to finish. I can do it but I need to set my mind to it and schedule it.

Also the go to the beach and put my toes in the ocean thing needs to happen soon before it starts to get too cold here in the Northeast - not something I want to do in December. Will try to do that next weekend.

I also have lots of unfinished projects that I need to complete - this needs to be the month to complete them.

September is here!!! Wow - time has flown this year.

August was a very productive month for my goal list. Since joining the Y I've been able to really work on the fitness goals that I had been struggling to complete.

Still there is a lot to do. September will be about finishing unfinished projects. Since I am currently not working full time (looking for that new job to complete #48), there is a large swath photos to be placed in scrapbooks and a wedding quilt calling my name.

So here is my update to the list to date:

Mini Goal List Update mid August 2014

Completed a bunch of goals over the last few weeks. Really starting to get a handle on some of my personal stuff now that I am not completely stress out or working full time.

The big thing discovered is #65 Finding something my husband and I can do together.

Yesterday we jointed our local YMCA. My husband was recently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. The diagnosis, although not good, has really forced us to look at our lifestyle and put our health and well being to the fore front. It's getting us to make some important habit changing decisions. We are going to try the YFit program and see how we do. I'm in love with the fact that they have a pool - which means my swimming mini goal will be met by the end of this month. Hopefully this change will contribute to #99.

Mini Goal List Update for end of July/August 2014

It's been a crazy month. No new job yet but I had 3 interviews. Maybe the 4th one's a charm.

As for the Mini Goal list I have achieved #29, 61, 63 & 71 in July. Stargazing was great. We were visiting friends of ours in Maine who do not live near a bright city. The sky was so full of stars. I used the Skyview app on my phone to figure out what I was looking at. That was pretty neat.

Working on #24 today. A New workout mix is needed as I ramp up to complete my last 3K (#14 on the list) and move into starting to walk 1/4 marathon distances.

I am going on a road trip next Saturday to meet up with old friends for a baby shower. Hope to complete #50, 51 & 53 this weekend.

I'll be completing #26 the following weekend.

June/July Mini Goal Update

Lots of changes going on in my life as I begin my transition out of an old job and finding a new one. I thought adding a challenge to my busy schedule would help but in the end I couldn't keep up. I ended up taking another break from SP for a bit. I make that mistake all too often - over commitment. I need to focus on the basics right now - eating clean, getting exercise and making time for myself.

However, in my absence I have been trying to achieve items on my mini goal list. Here is my progress towards my 2014 100 Mini Goal List as of 7/20/2014:

1.Write a new Mini Goal List

2. Set up an auto appointment in my calendar to make time for me everyday (set up a half and hour per weekday and an hour per day on the weekend)

3. Make a fitness plan (Goal - Walk the 10mile of the Black Cat Race March 2015. Created a walking schedule to get me back up and moving. 10 mins. walking 5 days per week (working up to 20 mins. once I've kicked the Flu entirely) and an hour long walk on either saturday or sunday of each week.)
