I've reached my goal!

Wednesday, March 05, 2014

I've lost a total of 30 lbs. and I feel great. I thought I wanted to lose a little more, but now that I'm at this weight I feel fine and I am actually smaller than I thought I would be at this weight so I think I'll stop here on the weight loss goal and just work on maintenance. I am planning to start a new exercise program and I continue to eat healthy to have a better lifestyle. emoticon

A New Start

Sunday, June 09, 2013

It's been a while since my last blog. (You can thank my busy schedule with nursing school) But I finished and I am now an LVN and looking for a job! Now I am ready to get back into my spark people community and see what's happening. One thing I need to do is figure out my goals. I know I need to get back into an exercise program which has been nonexistent for a while. However I am proud to say I am eating healthy and making great nutritional choices. So here I go...gotta start getting these extra pounds off! emoticon

Congratulations on achieving your LVN---you will have a job in no time.

For a reintroduction, I have posted some pretty simple bed Pilates. There is no better way to start the day especially when you don't feel like getting out of bed.

Let us know how you are progressing.

A great day!

Wednesday, May 11, 2011

It's been 30 days since I quit smoking. I feel great! Now I am working on my weight loss. I can't believe I did 60 min of cardio today! That's a great accomplish for me given I am at home with my two year old daughter and I have to keep her entertained for an hour straight in order to get an hour of exercise. For the last few weeks I have managed to work in 30 min 3-5 times a week but I am going for 60 min 5-6 days per week to get this weight off. I felt great after my workout and listened to some cool workout music which motivated me to keep going. Yeah! emoticon

Lose inches before pounds

Saturday, May 07, 2011

I've been increasing my workout routine slightly but I'm sad to say I don't see the scale changing yet. However, I can tell I have lost some inches, not much, but enough to notice when I look in the mirror and wear certain items of clothing. I guess that's what usually happens to me I tend to lose inches before I lose pounds. Hopefully I can start shedding some pounds soon. (I think I may need to cut my calories down though because maybe it's too high)

this same thing is happening to me! So glad i am not alone and the encouragement is wonderful! I started 7 weeks ago, have run 50 miles, lift weights two times a week, drink water, eat 1500 calories a day - and no cheating! not even a diet soda! Discouraging - i do see some definition but no weight loss ARGH!!!

Loosing inches means muscle is being built. This is long, lean look. Weight is a number .

if you are loosing inches, I would not cut calories, the pounds will come off. Also a quirk with my scale. sometimes it doesn't really weigh me it just gives me my last weight. I get on with one of my dumbbells and after the weight changes I get off put the dumbell down and then I'll weight different than last time. or the batteries are dying. do you have an eletronic scale?

Actually it doesn't sound like a bad thing to me - it means you look slimmer and more fit. isn't that more important than the scale?

Early Bird

Saturday, April 30, 2011

This morning I got up at 7:30am which is really early for especially on the weekend. But I want to get back into a good sleep/wake cycle since I will be starting school in a month and will have to get up earlier than that. I also ate a good breakfast, got my daughter in the stroller and headed out for a nice 30-min walk despite the wind and pollen in the air. Thank goodness my allergy pill worked today. I even drank a good amount of water this morning! Ok so I'm making progress today! I'm really trying to get into a routine I can stick with because I usually can come up with a good plan, but sticking to it has been the problem. Well, I'm not a morning person at all, but I am going to make this change because today I feel great! And that's what it's all about. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Great start! I'm in a similar position because the whole Passover vacation was a long period of practically no workout and not very good nutrition (mainly because I was abroad).
