Back to the heathcare website

Wednesday, October 22, 2014

I spend most of the afternoon trying to work through
the website for a young family who needed coverage
during the special enrollment period. My, not much
has changed since last year and we had to call the
experts to get it done before 5 pm so the young man
could call his employer and stop them from taking
a huge amount of money out of his paycheck. This
all stems from his ex who decided he had to have
his own insurance policy on the son they have
together. I wonder why she waited 7 years to push
the issue. He has remarried and has 3 young daughters
to support as well and sees his son about 3 times
a year. What a struggle for them.
We had rain this afternoon and it made the leaves
I had raked yesterday just damp enough that I
could pick them up much easier. The pickup box
is almost full so the goats get a treat tomorrow.
Have a great night and enjoy the World Series
game on tv if you are into baseball. Thanks
for stopping by. HUGS!

Wow, what a day you had. I wondered who is more frustrated, you or the young man you was looking for a good plan for? What a nightmare! I am sure that your goats will be grateful.

Ome small victory

Tuesday, October 21, 2014

Each day that passes in calm and peace is a day
to be treasured. Today was one of those days for
which I am grateful.
I had called to the bank while DS was here in the
office and requested that my name be added to
his checking account. One step that was necessary
and that the bank personnel understood after a long
discussion. DS gave his okay and today, the form
arrived, was signed, copied and mailed. One copy
for the attorney and one for me to keep as proof
that no one else can touch his money.
One small victory but hopefully, more to come
until I finish closing the loopholes that scheming
opportunists look for to take advantage of those
who cannot protect themselves.
Tonight I will sleep without the doubts that came
to nag me in the early morning hours. I know that
I am doing the right thing and the rest of the family
stands behind me. And when this is done, we all
will feel like the battle was worth it.
I hope your day went well and you found one
small victory of your own. Thanks for stopping
by. HUGS!

The fun never ends

Monday, October 20, 2014

After a tense weekend of wondering what DS and
GF were up to at a friend's house, I get a text saying
they have rented an apartment and are moving.
Really? Well, DS comes home and insists he is not
moving, doesn't want a job that the "friend" made
him apply for and certainly has no intention of
joining her church.
Then this afternoon, she comes with boxes, her DH
and another "friend" to help the kids pack up the
house. She has the nerve to call 911 and say I was
picking a fight. So we have 2 HP's and 2 deputies in
town, right across from the elevator, a ton of trucks,
semis and lots of farm and town folk gawking at the
"police presence" so a non-issue. The "friends" were
finally convinced to leave and not return to DS's house.
What a mind-blowing experience that was.
The attorney has assured me that all paperwork will
be finished and filed so that I will have full guardianship
and can assist DS with everything he needs. Maybe
by this time next week. One can only hope and pray.
So if I am not present on all the posts, do not remark
on blogs, you will know I am still mildly insane and
not taking it on the chin for any Tom, Dick and Harry
that comes along. My apologies to those of you who
may happen to share these names. You will know it
is just an expression, not aimed at any Sparkers.
Thanks for stopping by and I will accept and appreciate
any helpful words of support. I think I will be due for
a visit to a padded room someplace but I think I
would settle for a week at a spa LOL!. HUGS!

You know. Unless you have children and are a nurturer, you don't know enough sometimes NOT to come between a mother and her children. Age be darned! I applaud your strength and sticking to what is what your DS really wants. The sooner this pushy girl is out of his life, the better but it may not be as easy as that. Stay strong momma. You have a wise head and a strong will. I am here to listen to rants if and when needed. LOL You and your's have my sympathy.

Wish I had some good advice, hon., but I am at a loss. You seem to be handling things well, though.

DS's concert

Sunday, October 19, 2014

This was the choral groups, not the band as I thought.
Either way, the music was delightful and we took
DS out for dinner to a quaint little place called the
Café Brule. Pleasant atmosphere, a very gracious
owner and DS's fav place to eat. Only about 4 blocks
from his apartment.
MIL took a little tumble on the steps inside the
building but DS was quick to catch her arm so
it wasn't worse. DS's music instructor wanted to
call an ambulance until DS said I was an EMT
and we could handle it. It worked out just fine,
a little cut on her elbow but no broken bones. I
have a feeling she will be sore tomorrow but she
was in good spirits when she drove home just now.
More fun things going on but I don't have enough
information to know what oldest DS and his GF are
up to now. Just what I didn't need but I am sure I
can get things set to rights tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Monday.
HUGS!

Happy M-I-L didn't get hurt worse. It is scary as we age that something as simple as a little tumble can wreak major havoc. It was a simple fall that broke my dad's elbow and gave him a goose egg that was his undoing. His heart just could not handle it.
Oh my more issues with DS-I am sure you will handle it but.... such a worry for you.

Doing a little extra ST

Saturday, October 18, 2014

My Stretch for Success day was a small goal for myself
and it worked. I did ST early this morning and did a second
set this afternoon after I push mowed the lawn for 45
minutes. I am feeling pretty good now but may feel it even
more tomorrow.
My salad is ready to deliver to the Oktoberfest committee
and I will do that now. I have no idea how long I will be
working tonight so I thought to blog now and add more
details tomorrow.
Now that the mowing is done, I can rake the leaves a
bit more easily and the lawn looks great for Sunday.
Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by. HUGS!
