I made it through the day

Friday, December 19, 2014

the best idea I had was to do my walking workout before
I started working in the office and it paid off. I have logged
over 6.2 miles and think I am past the slump I had 2 days
ago when I just couldn't seem to get moving.
I worked on at least 6 quote for house/car insurance today
and hope to have all the policies uploaded next week.
I was so glad I didn't have much to take my attention
away from those tasks. DH did need a few forms printed
but I could do that without logging out of the other sites.
Lots of service work done as well. This bodes well for
the weekend as I can enjoy myself and not feel like I
left something undone next week.
Thanks for stopping by and have a super Saturday.

Thursday update

Thursday, December 18, 2014

I think I was lacking motivation today but since I woke
up with leg cramps at 4:30, it put me off my stride first
thing this morning. Not sure what brought that on as it
is not a common occurrence for me. Need to research
this so I avoid this down the road.
After I got moving in the office, it was no big deal. Lots
of walking in short bursts and I managed to log 4 miles.
A few odds and ends for other cardio and getting into
the mood for Christmas. I still have to wrap gifts and
the like but that will be Saturday's task.
DD had surgery this morning and is home now. She had
spurs and a possible small tear. The doctor said her
shoulder was "sloppy" so they will work on toning those
muscles in therapy. Since her younger sister had a
similar surgery this spring, she can call her and ask
questions. She did it now so she can recover over her
Christmas break from school. The pain block should
last for 2 days and then we will see what comes next.
Good thing it is her left arm as she is right handed.
Nothing much to report so I will call it a day and
hit the sheets. I have already stoked the furnace for
the night so I am sure it will be warm in the morning.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic Friday.

Marsha, for me this is Friday. I always seem to be a day behind on these blogs. Cramps can be helped with magnesium and/or potassium. We take both. There are times when DH does too much and these treatments don't help. I haven't had any cramping in quite a while. HUGS, Terry

Got a lot of my gifts wrapped yesterday. Still some that need boxed or bagged and too many more yet to be bought! Ugh! I hate that! But it is what it is!
Hope your DD gets along fine with her recuperation!

Tonight was the night

Wednesday, December 17, 2014

for the grade school concert. A very unusual time-6:15,
The school came to an agreement with several churches
to hold this on a Wednesday night, usually reserved for
religious activities only. It was a great concert with the
grade school band opening the evening, followed by
the kindergarten class and then a skit featuring the 6th
grades thespians and the other grades singing along.
Very impressive.
Also, tonight was the finale of Survivor. When we got
home, I immediately turned on the recorded segment
and watched from beginning to end, skipping the
commercials in some places but letting them run in
others so I could do dishes, wash laundry, and feed
the furnace. I was pleased with the end result and did
enjoy listening to the jury members. One guy especially
had an excellent little monologue that added to the
flavor of the final decision.
So now I have to wait for Survivor's return in February
and hope that it meets my expectations. "White Collar,
Blue Collar, No Collar". Sounds like fun.
Have a great Thursday and thanks for stopping by.
Now I can devote the rest of my time to working, working
out and getting ready for Christmas. Perfect. HUGS!

I find it interesting which shows draw which people in. I'm a Big Brother addict, but rarely catch Survivor... although I enjoyed its first season. Problem is there's ALWAYS one or another such "reality" (unreal reality) game show going... one could get sucked in and never get any living done! But you manage, Marsha! Thank goodness for DVR's, right?

A little extra today

Tuesday, December 16, 2014

With the rain, freezing rain and snow, I had a bit of
shoveling to do this morning. I was glad I had left it
right where it was because I didn't have to deal with
glazed ice. The wind and blowing snow polished any
clear surfaces so it was super slick today.
The GC had a piano recital today and all the children
did great. There were a few that had just started
lessons this fall and it was fun to see them concentrate
so much on their pieces. Our GD played one solo,
then a duet with her teacher and a special surprise
at the end. The teacher has never had 3 playing on
one piano at the same time but she, GD and one
older boy played together and it was awesome.
What a nice way to end the recital.
I got a great workout by walking today. None of
the streets were plowed until noon so there were
small and large drifts on most of the streets. That
got the blood pumping.
Thanks for stopping by and have a WooHoo Wednesday.

Eek!!! I don't know if I'd be brave enough to try to walk in that! Maybe, but doubtful. hehe
That recital sounds absolutely marvelous!! I took piano lessons from the time I was in Kindergarden till I graduated High School! I remember some of those recitals and how excited I'd get to show off what I'd learned to parents and friends! Never saw 3 playing one piano! I'll bet is was extraordinary!!
So, not having anything wet or frozen here, I did get my walk. I started a bit late, though, so I had to hurry a bit, but I dragged DS out after the SIL picked up the GDs. WooHoo!! For me, not too shabby!
Hope you have a restful, peaceful evening!! (((HUGS)))

One down, two to go

Monday, December 15, 2014

I survived the first deadline for health insurance and
finished 2 applications and have 3 more in the works
for the next deadline. And I spent time working on
other quotes as well. Just so much time in a day but
I have 4 more to get done before the weekend, maybe
6 if I can push through it. One is very complicated but
will be the last one as I have a little more time for it.
We had an inch of rain and then freezing rain and finally
snow-about 4 inches. Then the wind arrived and it
is whipping it all around. I skipped shoveling as it
would have only made the sidewalks a slick and slippery
mess so I will deal with it all tomorrow.
The weather caused school to close and the grade
school concert to be postponed. Hope they can find
a day before they break for the holidays.
The wood furnace is burning well and the house is
toasty and warm. The wood supply is going down
but we are in no danger of burning it all this year.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Tuesday. HUGS!
