Breaking the day up

Saturday, October 25, 2014

Up early to get 3 loads of laundry done. Had to wait for
the sun to come up to hang it outside. Early morning walk
to the café, back home to get the sheets outside, walked
to church to change the paraments, walked home to
start the dryer. Back to the café to meet with my brother
and SIL and some friends. Out to the farm, picked 100+
gourds that came up volunteer, fix fence, chase the goats
into the right pen, home again to sweep floors and
dry another load of clothes.
I have logged over 2.5 miles and it is just 11 am.
How am I doing? Right on schedule to hit the garden
after lunch and then maybe take a short nap. My
mind is in overdrive and I am in a great mood. I still
plan to rake more leaves today.
Thanks for stopping by and if you are so inclined,
please bring me a new battery. I may have run this
one into the ground by tonight LOL! I think my body
runs on 9 volts anyway. HUGS!

Made it through Friday

Friday, October 24, 2014

Another fairly intense day, making phone calls for DS
but only leaving messages. Waiting for a fax that never
came. So close and yet so far.
DH started another certification and I spent more time
walking home and back to the office until I finally just
locked up and came home for good. It seemed he
needed me every 5 minutes so I wasted an hour and
a half until he finished the first section and then
left with our neighbor for the poultry show. That
left me with chores to do but I raked a full load of
leaves first. When I went to unload, the neighbor
boy had left 5 big piles of leaves already. He left
the gate open for me and I hurried to get done so
I could come home to rake more. I will load those
in the morning.
I treated myself to a nice dinner of beef filet and
my confetti salad. A great mixture of fresh chopped
vegetables with a kiss of dressing.
Now I am dividing my time between Sparking and
the World Series. A pretty exciting game even if I
am only listening.
Have a great Saturday and thanks for stopping by.

Raking leaves is great exercise! I actually used to enjoy doing that when I lived at home. Now I am in an apartment and thankfully don't have to do any outdoor work.

One more day

Thursday, October 23, 2014

Friday is almost here and I am ready for the weekend.
DH is going to a poultry show with our neighbor, leaving
tomorrow and returning Saturday evening. I have my
list of to-dos and I can be a free spirit.
I now have another form to fill out for DS. I have to contact
a doctor and see if this is in his scope of expertise. It
may require more than one person to answer all the
questions but I will take it a step further.
The man came to pick up DS's old car to take to the
salvage yard. At least it was worth $150. I think it
was the best we could do since it isn't worth much
with a ruined engine.
Just sailing along and into the evening hours and
ready for bed. I have 300+ email to read but all in
good time. Thanks for stopping by and have a
great Friday! HUGS!

Back to the heathcare website

Wednesday, October 22, 2014

I spend most of the afternoon trying to work through
the website for a young family who needed coverage
during the special enrollment period. My, not much
has changed since last year and we had to call the
experts to get it done before 5 pm so the young man
could call his employer and stop them from taking
a huge amount of money out of his paycheck. This
all stems from his ex who decided he had to have
his own insurance policy on the son they have
together. I wonder why she waited 7 years to push
the issue. He has remarried and has 3 young daughters
to support as well and sees his son about 3 times
a year. What a struggle for them.
We had rain this afternoon and it made the leaves
I had raked yesterday just damp enough that I
could pick them up much easier. The pickup box
is almost full so the goats get a treat tomorrow.
Have a great night and enjoy the World Series
game on tv if you are into baseball. Thanks
for stopping by. HUGS!

Ome small victory

Tuesday, October 21, 2014

Each day that passes in calm and peace is a day
to be treasured. Today was one of those days for
which I am grateful.
I had called to the bank while DS was here in the
office and requested that my name be added to
his checking account. One step that was necessary
and that the bank personnel understood after a long
discussion. DS gave his okay and today, the form
arrived, was signed, copied and mailed. One copy
for the attorney and one for me to keep as proof
that no one else can touch his money.
One small victory but hopefully, more to come
until I finish closing the loopholes that scheming
opportunists look for to take advantage of those
who cannot protect themselves.
Tonight I will sleep without the doubts that came
to nag me in the early morning hours. I know that
I am doing the right thing and the rest of the family
stands behind me. And when this is done, we all
will feel like the battle was worth it.
I hope your day went well and you found one
small victory of your own. Thanks for stopping
by. HUGS!
