Thanksgiving is almost here

Wednesday, November 26, 2014

It is probably a good thing that tomorrow is Thanksgiving
as U feel I need a break. Today I started with a 25 minute
walking workout in the office. The fun began when I picked
up where I left off yesterday. Lots of drug plans to be
researched, clients to be seen, paperwork to be filed with
the companies and then filed away. Yes, just another day
in the life....
We had planned to close the office early and so I did
leave 30 minutes early. I had plans but there were put
on hold as the billy decided he needed to stick his
head in the cattle panel by the hay bales and could
not seem to get out. We took down two panels and
finally got him released. Then we had to fix the fence
in a different way so this shouldn't happen again.
Now I was finally home to bake bread, make nut
pudding for lunch and get the rest of the things
organized to take to DD's house-wine, 3 kinds of
pickles, the fixings for the cranberry banana salad.
We will load up a bed frame, mattress and box frame
from the spare bedroom for the GC, a space heater
for DS and his fiancÚ and whatever else I can remember.
I do have a list so I will consult it before we leave
so as not to forget something.
The bread is done and I am ready for bed. I snuck
a few peeks at Survivor tonight and will watch
the full episode Friday.
I will spend a short time online before we leave
and check in again late afternoon when we return.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and thanks for
stopping by. HUGS!

Yum, cranberry banana salad sounds intriguing. Someday when Francine is not breathing down your neck, please post how you make it. It sounds as if it would have a nice mix of sweet and tart flavors.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving with your dear family and try to catch your breath on Friday! I hope you're getting that day as a holiday too!

Picked a few battles today

Tuesday, November 25, 2014

I was hoping we were getting to the midway point of our
list of seniors and find there are still so many to talk to
before December 7th. It is almost virtual overload by the
end of the day. So I gave myself a night away from Spark
and hope I will have given my brain enough rest by
morning.
It is lightly sprinkling now and there may be an inch of
snow tomorrow. As long as it stays put, it should be
just fine. One can only hope.
The wood furnace is burning and it is nice and warm
inside tonight. When I emptied the ash pan I found
a small bat, dead of course, but not a clue how it got
there. It wasn't there the last time I cleaned so we
are trying to decide if it can down the chimney and
how it survived this long while the furnace was
being used. Well, there were 3 nicer days last week
so maybe it found a place to hide then. Sadly, it
hid in the wrong place.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful
Wednesday. HUGS!

Yeah, that bat picked a bad place to hide.

As for you and the overload, take tomorrow off the workplace... and enjoy the family. Happy Thanksgiving. emoticon emoticon m

I can't imagine doing that comparison for so many-just doing it for DH & I takes me a couple of hours by the time I study it all. You probably know the plans well where I don't.
Hope you didn't accumulate a lot of snow-we ended up with about 8 inches of rain in 24 hours! It finally cleared up about 11 am today and now the sun is shining but very cool out now.

I'm so sorry about the little bat visitor who didn't make it! Like you said, wrong place wrong time for him, I suppose.
Sounds like you're getting into a busy season. Good luck with that! I know I could never deal, but you're great at your job!
Hope snow doesn't put a damper on your holiday, hon! Stay safe and plenty warm! (((HUGS)))

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, and hope you get some much-deserved rest!

We had a raccoon living in our chimney for TWO YEARS! Yes, we had fires but it survived still (had to have a trapper come and get it and put a cap on the chimney!)

An occasional break is a good thing, I think.
I hope that you get a bit of a break in the snow department. I like snow, and enjoy the shoveling, but this is a bit much a bit too soon.
Enjoy the day!

It might of been sick and that is why there were no others. Bats always are in groups so watch to see if there are more if not then it may have been sick.

Rested and recharged

Monday, November 24, 2014

DH's episode has passed and he is feeling better today.
That was a good thing because today was another rush
day with all the seniors trying to beat the deadline and
others checking out the healthcare.gov site. Then you
throw in the farmer who insists on turning in his crop
production and you haven't seen him since July and
now he is in a hurry. Quite the day LOL!
DH took GD to choir practice and I had practice of
my own with my Nordic poles. Tonight was the maiden
voyage after watching several videos to get the hang
of things. I held it to 10 minutes and need to work on
my form. I will try to get outside and work with them
for 2 weeks until I feel comfortable with them. I was
thinking every other day would be a good schedule.
DS was in on the latest Guinness World Record attempt
and from what I understand it did set a record.
At the college football game with the South Dakota
university rivals, there were over 4,500 students having
a pillow fight after the first quarter. Yes, he was there
and so was his brother and fiancÚ. Wish I could have
seen it in person but I was more than happy to be home
and inside on a cold afternoon.
Yesterday may have been a stressful day but I did get
some extra rest and felt much better today as well. Not
a bad way to start the new week.
Pick your battles and own your victories and thanks
for stopping by. HUGS!

Never a dull moment in your corner of the world! Nordic poles-way to go. I tried using the Nordic Track ski exerciser and I just was not coordinated enough to ever get it going right and even fell off a couple of times so it was quickly put up for sale again! Actually had a hard time selling it and it became a great clothes rack! emoticon

DH is feeling a bit under the weather today so I have
been keeping an eye on him. Nothing major but I am
spending more time with him than SP. I know all of
will understand my absence.
Thanks for stopping by and for any kind words that

Sometimes you need a break anyhow.
