Quickly moving into Easter

Wednesday, April 16, 2014

I spent a bit of time at church tonight, changing the altar
clothes and setting up for communion. The other couple
who were to do it were unable to so I agreed to take care
of it. I will also be responsible for it on Easter Sunday.
My to-so list isn't getting any shorter.
Maunday Thursday services, strip the altar, then
cover with the cloth for Black Friday, boil and dye
Easter eggs for Easter breakfast, have our family
Easter dinner and then, it is finally Easter. Not
sure how much more I can do.
DH decided that he needed an apple pie because that
way he gets some fruit in his diet. Hmmm. Interesting
concept. I have plenty of fresh fruit available and he
wants a sticky, sweet pie. But this is nothing new and
certainly not a result of last weekend's medical episode.
Some things never change. He says he has no appetite
and yet, that appeals. He can be so picky.
I did, however, watch Survivor in real time and that
was my break for the day. emoticon
Have a great Thursday and thanks for stopping by.
HUGS!

Maybe double the apples in the pie to add more fruit instead of syrup. I did this to a strawberry pie and loved it!

Slowly catching up

Tuesday, April 15, 2014

I am still working through tasks from yesterday but at
least none are so time sensitive that I feel like I have
missed a deadline. As a matter of fact, I was ahead on
a couple of items and surprised the adjustors who
called for information that they didn't know I already
had. I can work fast if I have to but my clients are also
well trained and fax me invoices as soon as they
get them. Lucky us! It makes the claims process go
so much better.
DH is feeling better and I grilled steak for supper with
portabella mushrooms and a fresh spinach salad
on the side. His appetite is coming back quite quickly
so his strength will follow. I think he was in the office
for 2 1/2 hours total for the day. Not bad.
We will go over to MIL's on Sunday for a short visit-
no meal. Neither of us needs to overdo it. Some of the
tension is gone now so I would like to keep it that way.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Wednesday.
HUGS!

DH is home

Monday, April 14, 2014

I spent as much time at work as I could before going
to get DH home from the hospital. The change in meds
has worked wonders and a great discussion with his
doctor hammered home things I have been telling him
for months. Hope he takes all the information to heart.
We are both ready to call it a day and see what
tomorrow brings.
Thank you for all the prayers, kind words of support
and comments. HUGS!

Update on DH

Sunday, April 13, 2014

No heart attack or stroke, just a combination of being
dehydrated, spending too much time out in the heat
and humidity and blood pressure meds need to be
adjusted down. He will remain in the hospital overnight
and I will bring him home tomorrow.
Thanks for all the prayers and hugs. I will be eating a
light lunch before driving to Sioux Falls to deliver
a change of clothes and necessities that he will be
needing. He remembers next ot nothing about the
whole event and that is as it should be. All the kids
and family have been notified, as was pastor. I
guess I covered the final base by bringing all my
wonderful SPark friends up to speed. HUGS!

Who can sleep at a time like this?

Sunday, April 13, 2014

DH had a medical event shortly before midnight. He
had a least two episodes of loss of consciousness.
The first was in the bathroom when I heard him fall
just before midnight. The second was shortly after
when I was trying to get him back to bed. I insisted
on calling for the ambulance, answered as the first EMT
was acknowledging and asking where the emergency
was. I said, "My house, sweetheart" and instructed
them that they would need to have extra help as he
is not capable of standing. Our neighbor came as
well as 3 EMT's and I was told to act like the patient's
wife. Yeah, right. I am in EMT mode full bore, giving
instructions and notifying dispatch to get a helicopter
in the air or at least on standby. The newest EMT
told me that took guts but you do what you do best.
I kept up on his status with the radio and followed
them to the hospital. I was all business and I think
the nurses and doctor were expecting me to be a
basket case. They don't know me very well at all.
My nerves of steel will not permit me to do otherwise.
After all the initial tests, IV's, EKG's and the like,
he was taken by helicopter to the Heart Hospital.
His doctor will be there to check him over and see
what comes next. The flight nurse just called me
to say he feels better that he had all day. Since
I was gone babysitting, I had no idea that anything
was out of the norm.
I will be staying up and waiting for a call from
the doctor and Sparking while I wait as it is too
early in the morning to call anyone until I know
what is going on. If you don't hear from me later,
I will be attending to other things and know you
will understand completely.
Thanks for stopping by. I know I will be feeling your
prayers as the day goes on. HUGS!
